We need to collectively file lawsuits for mismanaged mental health care.

It isn't the Country its the Government which includes the Veterans health care system. The American people cant fix this problem. This is a percentage game. Political thinking says, "A certain percentage of Veterans must die in order to manage funding.

Get a hold of your advocate. They did the same stuff to me in SD. Get a outside doctor always.never use the VA for a claim or help. Also do ALL comp and pen outside provider. You have that right.

There is crazy psychiatrists at VA, I have PTSD, 100%, one put me in a nut ward at the VA. It hard sometimes bad dreams, my anger, it a wonder that I haven’t blown my brains out. I just exist, waiting and hoping for what I don’t know. This demon I keep reliving.

This happened to me also with my Primary care Dr. I lost my hip over it. She is still working there. The Dr. before her misdiagnosed me twice. and failed to treat me for an infection prior to a colonoscopy Only to find out on the procedural table and under sedation . This could have caused the infection to spread to others. The V.A is so pathetic. Every time I go to the Mental health clinic I go home angry and more suicidal then I was before going in .

Anybody know how you can use a private psychologist for treatment instead of Vet Center / VHA counselor, once you’ve been granted a PTSD rating by VA? Thanks

The VA has a Community Care Program (CCP). It's basically a spin-off from the old VA Choice Program.CCP works great for a lot of us

Yep it's your absolute right to make the VA pay for a outside provider. Simply write a vote of no confidence and give it to your patient advocate. What I did.

My first time meetin my doc he says," Ok, lets hear what you got." So I start telling him a few of the main stories I cant get out of my head and mid story the Doc cuts me off and says," JUST TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO KNOW TO GET YOU PAID!" Ifucking snap on him walked out the office and just left, few months later they gave me 30%. Its almost as bad as this veteran building Im at now( Safe Haven) ,i the past 2 yers we've had 19 vets pass with no investigations hard a blink of an eye from VA fake ass staff that need fired! On top of that literally have every right possible violated here i could go on and on....Sad shit really, case this place really could be what its named for.

This happened to me several times. Everytime I go to James A Haley VA Hospital they interrogate me about the street drugs that I'm on. It's so embarrassing because I've never done drugs in my life. They explained that it's due to the large amount of drug addicted vetrans in the Tampa FL area.

"Patel" doesn't that mean you are from India and own a hotel or motel ? Did you ever serve this country with something other then criticism for those who did. B.T.W. The Marines were many places that weren't in any official logs or paper work. They are called media black out operations. Where media is not given any information at all concerning the operation to the point that there is no public knowledge of said event. then there are Black ops These are military ops that are so secret that even the Government or the military officials have no knowledge of there existence .
So just because you cant find anything does not mean the Marines weren't there. Your are suffering from a knee jerk reaction coupled with an arrogance that wont let you think outside the box. Don't feel bad it happens to the best of us. You just happen to look a little ignorant on this one. Even if you served in the Marines that doesn't mean you know every thing about what happens outside your own platoon, division, or squad.

BS, Marines were in Mosul before anyone else. I was there in the beginning in 2003…no transition through Kuwait or anything. Flew into Mosul from Greece, in the middle of the night. Know your facts before you speak on something that you obviously know nothing about.

Not sure why this Marine veteran is claiming he was at the Battle of Mosul in 2004. The Marines did not participate in it. It was fought exclusively by the US Army Infantry- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Mosul_(2004) I don't want to bust the guy's balls in case I'm wrong, but there are several red flags popping up in his story. The news people are saying the Navy diagnosed him with PTSD. Did they see the paperwork? Or did they just take this veteran's word? It just doesn't add up that a Marine who was service-connected for PTSD by the DOD and then treated for it for 13 years would be branded a faker unless they found out that he lied on his initial application. It could be that the VA think's he's gotten better and wanted to reduce his rating, but that's not what he's claiming. He is saying they've branded him a fraud, which is a serious allegation and that doesn't usually happen unless they discovered something. Would have been nice to see a follow up to this segment so that some of the missing information could be discovered. If the guy is legit then I hope he gets everything he earned, but as of right now, something just seems off about the whole story.
