- So... I really should be better at sight reading by now...
Today we tackle a beautiful arrangement of Elgar's famous Nimrod, arranged for soprano saxophone and organ. I thought it'd be a great idea to record my sight-reading and learning process...
Chris' Gear:
Sax: Yamaha YSS-475II Soprano Saxophone
Mouthpiece: Selmer Concept (1.06mm)
Reeds: Vandoren V12, 2.5
Reeds: Legère Classic, 2.5

Your playing is extremely impressive Chris!! You're doing fantastic hun, and you're certainly well ahead of me, as I have still got to learn how to do palm keys. Keep going hun. God bless you and thank you so much for sharing your beautiful playing. Xxx
Keep it up! Learning just by watching you on things I can do while I'm trying to read as well
You are doing very well
Amazing work! I need to work on my sight reading skills
Haha! The glorified clarinet is being played! Noice!
To add: I get the last breath thing so much when I play oboe either standing or sitting. You lose all sense of wind!
im sorry but im pretty sure that’s a soprano saxophone
@@saunsui2283 Soprano saxophone is a glorified clarinet. That is a hill I will die upon.
❤❤❤❤
Nice!
Those dreaded palm keys! The highest note I can reach is top C. Still have to learn how to do palm keys. Xxxx
You have a nice tone! Spend some time working on intervals with a focus on your fingers moving at the same time. This will help your playing sound cleaner. Keep it up!
Not too fast Chris! Nimrod needs to be slower hun. Sounding good though. Xxxx
