    I live less than a mile away from where this happened. My daughters aged 18 and 16 regularly use bus stops very close to where Bobbi was abducted to go see their friends that live around Plymouth. Many of my friends with similar aged daughters feel that it couldve been any one of our girls that couldve been killed by this monster. It was simply a matter of chance that this happened to poor Bobbi. My eldest was actually out seeing her friends that night, catching a bus at 6 o'clock less than half a mile away. This case has made my blood run cold as a mother. My only comfort is that my daughter is a mixed martial arts specialist and knows how to fight but would that have been enough? I never thought in Plymouth we'd have such an awful crime that made us feel unsafe for our daughters but thank God he was caught. With the mass shooting last year its been a terrible time for our beloved small city. My heart breaks for Bobbis family and taking flowers to where she was found, a beloved beach spot by many, was such an emotional thing that my friends I felt we had to do. It'll be a long time before any of us will be able to go there again to enjoy it. I hope she's a peace now that this bastard is behind bars.

      The world has always been unsafe for women. Attackers have always walked amongst us. Hardcore porn and violent sexual movies are easily available to vulnernable fantasists. My friends who are middle aged women actually got followed by a male from a bus stop. I have had men approaching me in their cars at bus stops. And I saw a man pester a school girl when they actually got off the school bus in a busy high street. Prevention is better than cure women need to learn good situation awareness and learn to be 'less trustful' of people including the charming ones. There ought to be compulsory classes to educate men about women. There ought to be curfews for men so us women have a break for a change, like they did successfully in Brazil.

    When you were talking about the images on his phone, it reminded me of a woman I worked with. I was a nurse and on my break I would go out for a cigarette with this woman.
    She took out her phone one day and I noticed a black and white photo on her home screen. At first I thought it was maybe her granddad, but at a closer glance I realised it was Ian Brady!
    I asked her why she had this evil person on her phone and she said she was interested in true crime. So am I to an extent, but I have a picture of my dog on my home screen.
    She was obsessed with The Black Dahlia case and she said she wanted a book on her. She said she wasn't good with computers, so I said I would go on Amazon and order a book about The Black Dahlia and she could pay me back.
    To cut a long story short, the book arrived and I handed it to her, she flicked through the pages and said 'there's no photos of her dead.' And then asked me to find another with her dead body with photos. I refused, and reported this nurse to our ward sister.
    But apparently there's no rule to what people watch, or look at.
    I ended up avoiding this woman, and would notice if a patient passed away, there was no emotion or empathy, she would go through the motions of washing and combing the deceased person's hair. Whereas I would talk to them, telling them what I was doing and open a window. Many nurses open windows, it's kind of a tradition to let the soul out.
    But this nurse would laugh at me talking to them and opening the window.
    It horrifies me that when I left, she was still there.

      @ Z Rosalee I agree with Crissi V it is talent! Not everyone can tell the stories the way Emma does, she was born for this! Not sure if you noticed but she doesn’t have cuts in her video which I have never seen at any other TH-camrs videos, you do have to have talent to be able to speak like this fluently, keeping us engaged every second of her video… I do get bored to hear other true crime TH-camrs as they only tell the facts and their opinion at the end but Emma approaches it from a very different point of view and she’s super intelligent too!!

    30:44 In my teens my mom & I fought, frequently & viciously. I remember one day, I screamed some horrible things at her, ending with "I hate you" as I stormed out, slamming the door. Then, I opened the door & screamed "I love you". I wasn't feeling it at the moment but I knew I loved her & we were just raised with the idea that you never know when the last meeting will be. She screamed "I love you" with a silent but palpable"bitch" at the end, lol. Even at our worst it was a priority. You don't part without telling a loved one that you love them. It's as natural to me as saying "bye" or "see you later". And, it's important. I've had a lot of loss in my life. An abnormal amount, really. But everyone knew how I felt.
    And with my niece, I never give her even a hint of a chance to doubt how much I love her, like her, respect her & am proud of her. It's the truth. It's something everyone, but especially kids, should hear regularly. I don't understand why it's hard for some people. No one is going to be upset that you care.

Men are still ;offering lifts to women and thinking nothing about our safety. I had to politely decline but of course, I thought what if the male would go into full on narcissistic rage and abduct me. I have had to go by bicycle more to avoid men 'trying to give me lifts'. I feel whenever I am alone walking I feel 'watched' by men who have sick fantasies and are willing to risk their lives and jobs to attack me. When you were talking about contemplation of suicide vs actually committing murder, I’ve often had those same thought when hearing true crime stories. The choice to end one’s life is tragic. I’ve had very close family members die by suicide. How much worse to have loose a lived loved one by the CHOICE of another. I do believe he set out to kill or maybe would not have that night if he hadn’t seen an opportunity. But he did set out to kill. He should never be let out!

      Right? I don't get it! (Thankfully, maybe that means I'm not a psychopat). There was no motiv other than to kill. Even his beloved Ted had sexual one. Why this beautiful young lady then? I don't understand. Cause she was weak? Old person is too. Maybe he is impotent, peace of s*it. And patethic. Hope he will enjoy his time in prison with inmates.

    • @dante6985
      @dante6985 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@janacizova I'm not a psychopath either but here's how it's been explained to me in my psych classes: it's a power / control issue and it's a sex-related thing for people like this even though there's no SA.
      He sees a beautiful young girl (maybe who reminds him of an ex.) Killing her gives him total domination / ownership over this girl's life (in his mind, not reality). In a perverse way, he thinks of her as "his" forever now because he murdered her. And he took off her clothes, not because it would make it harder to ID her (that's stupid), but to give him a greater sense of control over her.
      Mark Gooch killed a young mennonite woman in the U.S. with a similar modus operandi (normal looking guy with no violent history murders a complete stranger, a young attractive woman, no SA but removed her underwear). It took a longer time to solve because he didn't confess but Gooch was caught eventually, as this waste of space would have been.
      Men can be horrendous. To be honest I think sometimes random women are targeted by these types (as opposed to acquaintances) because they think they're more likely to get away with it that way. Really scary.
      I wrote an essay. Oops.

    Well done for telling this story in so much detail , empathy and consideration. She was such a beautiful and kind girl. I still cannot believe she’s no longer here, I’d do anything to get her back. My heart sinks when I see think about what’s happened. 💔
    But I know for a fact Cody definitely went out that night to kill; the hammer, the fact he said it could’ve been anyone, the fact he had researched places on Dartmoor two days before. He definitely intended to kill. I don’t think he told the full truth and that he is hiding some things because he’s such a sick liar. Such a vile man, an EXCUSE for a human, I hope he stays locked up forever and that what he’s done haunts him every day. I’m just glad he was caught and is now locked away.
    There’s no positive that comes from such a tragedy but I love to see everyone come together to keep her name and spirit alive. She will live on in spirit and walk by everyone each day. We will never ever forget you Bobbi.💙

    This case is so tragic. What a dirtbag this guy was. The intent, in my opinion, was nothing more than a thrill-kill. He should be serving a complete-life order: never released. I must comment on your approach in the style you educate your listeners, to me, it is as though I am sitting right across from you in my own living room. It's like having your company in my own house. Many psychologists who have TH-cam channels often come across as being quite clinical (stiff-necked). However, I really appreciate the way you come across as "being yourself" yet being professional at the same time. Another thing rarely seen on TH-cam with crime shows is a professional talking for 90 minutes or longer at one time. Ketos to you...you are so good at what you do.

    Emma: You mention Ted Bundy. You mention pornography and BDSM. You side with the school of thought that access to pornography and BDSM ‘can’ lead one to act out their fantasies. As a former psychiatric nurse and a student of human behavior myself, I totally agree with you. However, what do you say about the fact that during Bundy’s last interview before his execution, he blamed his access to pornography as an excuse for his lethal rampage against 30 or more different young women? Bundy, as I’m sure you are aware, was criticized for making ‘pornography’ the scapegoat for his behavior. Thus, psychologists at the time did not buy his argument, however, do you think Bundy may have tapped into a small grain of truth that was in part (mind you a very small part) of why he became one of the world’s most prolific serial killers? Could access to vivid images of sexual defamation of women play a larger part of the puzzle-we see among many serial killers and those who act out sexual violence against women-than is recognized among forensic psychologists today?

      I know you didn't ask me but just wanted to agree with this. I'm so concerned about women's safety tbh with the femicide rate continuing to go up. I feel like my generation (millennial) were basically a guinea pigs cos we really don't know the impact on young brains of constant access to violent porn. At best it's perpetuating misogyny, and at worst, if you've grown up disturbed anyway because you've suffered abuse/neglect like Bundy did, then it could add to the picture of becoming a killer.

      This sort of images are illicit and full of atrocities. We class this as an illicit addiction for sure. Anyway these atrocious things are beyond comprehension. It's deeply disturbing in these days .Although if we go back we can find others .Anyway l like the channel it's sort of bang on with Emma She is correct anyone seeking this imagery is also weather concieious of it or not .Is placing a whole heap of people plus themselves in grave and grievous danger as these talks show us .It's not all good what humans are capable of .

    • @vickishaw6053
      @vickishaw6053 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Access to images does not make someone a monster. It's the way their brain sees the images, if it was as simple as "porn made me do it" then guess what, most of us would be killers. It's normal to look, it's normal to want to know but they take it further by doing. You like the idiots who blame video games for violent crimes.

    • @ameliel8792
      @ameliel8792 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@vickishaw6053 literally no one said it is the sole cause of becoming a serial killer but I guess you don't like reading. Studies show that regular porn usage is correlated with certain problematic attitudes and behaviours such as seeing women as sexual objects and being less likely to believe sexual assault survivors. Do you honestly think having rape and other forms of horririfc violence towards women normalised right before your eyes every day doesn't affect a child's developing brain?
