- Tia Rigg was a beautiful little girl from Cheetham Hill in Manchester. Even though she had a slightly turbulent family life no one expected her uncle John Maden to turn into a monster and destroy the lives of many. Join me in my latest True Crime episode where I break down this case and how it unfolded in April 2010. Em x

I worked for the police for over ten years as a transcriber of child abuse case interviews, both victim and perpetrator. I had to stop eventually as I became a mother and simply could not carry on without it greatly affecting my mental health. The things I’ve heard will haunt me forever.
I admire how you stress that the victims death does not just affect the family, but the potential that person would have had on MANY people. You are so respectful with your stories. Thank You!
❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
I'm a huge believer in the butterfly effect.
If she wasn't killed, she could have stopped one of her friends at 18 getting into a car drunk and that person wouldn't have died.
She could have been a nurse who saved countless life's in her 30s.
She could have had a child who would have figured out the cure for cancer.
Because she died, that 18 year old will die in a car crash, her child will never be born.
the world wouldn't have known an amazing human who helped so so many people.
That's how my mind works, he didn't just kill her, he killed so much more.
Hi Emma,
I remember this case, my Daughter went to the same school as Tia, she was so heartbroken and had night terrors after this, back to sleeping in my bed, you feel so useless and destroyed, even watching this brings back all the fears and heartbreak. My heart is always with the family I cannot even imagine the pain they must still be living with. The loss of Tia is so tragic,. She will always be missed.
I hope he finds the most violent and depraved prison justice for a very very very long time.
child molesters can not be rehabilitated.....they should never ever be allowed out of prison .
I myself survived awful child abuse from many people ....the damage they do lasts a lifetime
so sorry this happened to you

I watch Alex Belfield and I also agree with him.We must bring back capital punishment for pedos and child murderers.
I agree. Put them in with the other prisoners, they'd deal with them for us too
I totally agree 👍🏻
I completely agree. You can't rehabilitate paedos, so why should we pay for them to live in prison? If there is no doubt they did what they did, there is no reason for them to continue taking up space.
I agree...Child molesters are the most difficult to rehabilitate. They are all monsters...Luckily they all get a hard time in prison.
@@peachiep2734 sadly I ended up in prison 4 years ago for a few weeks and let me tell you the prison I was in the pedos were all separated so they didn't get a hard time !!!
Oh Emma. I can hear your heart breaking, and your outrage, and your sorrow, right there in your voice. You are so brave doing this case. This was the most surreal thing I’ve heard in a long time, the most disjointed from what we think of as reality…it is devastating, and we are only listening to it! The police who work these cases must feel like exorcising their entire consciousness after these kinds of calls. There aren’t words enough in any language for the feelings this kind of crime evokes. God rest her soul. And Emma, thank you. Please do something to nourish your heart now, something just for you. I would very much like to give you a comforting hug right now. Bless you🤗
Deidre you have voiced so eloquently what we all feel about the terrible suffering some children endure in this broken world. And also what a beautiful brave soul Emma is.God bless her indeed
❤️❤️❤️
Unfortunately we here in the USA are about to put a woman on our Supreme Court that would let this guy off with a slap on the wrist. She’s been known to constantly let people who have child porn on their computers off with the lowest sentences. And that means if a case like this would go to the Supreme Court here, she would probably find someway to give him a very low sentence. And that’s a life time appointment. That’s why many of us are trying our best to keep her off the bench. And it has nothing to do with her race or the fact that she’s a woman. But that’s what they’ll say about us.
Has to Be so Hard Reporting thease cases God Bless Her
Yeah I Feel For Her Pamper Your self
My sister and I grew up with my parents fostering 3 kids like Tia. All siblings with hearts of gold despite their inner pain. (They are now our adoptive brothers and sister.)Just to feel safe in their beds at night, not having to push a heavy chest of drawers across the door to stop a certain family member. Being able to go to the beach, walks on the Moors, making pizza from scratch.
I vividly remember their reactions when my dad spent time helping them with homework and my brother allowing me, the same age to help him, swallowing his pride because he wanted to do well.
LOL I also remember my adoptive sister come flying across the school playing field because someone playfully pushed me and she thought I was in trouble. This was only after 2 months.
I tell this story because kids like Tia are many and there aren't enough Foster carers out there to place them so they have to remain in an unsafe environment. Listening to how bright and kind she was is breaking my heart.
Please just Google fostering and educate yourself even if it's not for you you may know someone who is perfect for it. It could save a girl like Tia.
The part about your adopted sister flying to your defense has me bawling. 2 months of kindness & she would put herself in harms way to protect you. I'll never forget this comment
@@hayleywindus8471 aww bless you. She's had my back ever since but now all us brats do martial arts and healthily punch each other haha.
What I forgot to say is that despite coming to us with a poor history of schooling all 3 have earned top top grades in exams and gone on to university to study bio chemistry, Zoology and English Classics.
This comment thread is like oil over troubled waters after watching Tia's story. My aunt and uncle foster; it's such a pure and wonderful thing. Props to you too; for being a great sibling when you prob had your own, usual teenage issues. I wish you all much joy and contentment in your lives x
I was forster Child, feels my persona....
@@TheMaisiewoofwoof It must be amazing to be part of such an extended loving family. Not all kids could cope with having foster children in their home and might feel some jealousies, but you must have been brought up to feel very secure in your skin and your place in your family.
When I was doing my masters in criminology my lecturer refused to use the term “child pornography” as pornography involves consenting adults, she always called them child abuse images or videos.
Agreed. In my line of work we use the phrase CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material). Pornography is consensual filming of sexual activity between adults- a child cannot consent!
Agreed!! This should become a mandatory change & I reckon everyone in the adult entertainment industry would agree wholeheartedly!!
Emma is a national treasure here in the Uk , so so SO many of her videos stick with me because of the immense amount of knowledge she has but more than that her telling of these awful cases, she does each case proud and Tia Rigg’s family would be proud of the way she told beautiful tias story, you see and hear the emotion in her, I thought I was used to hearing true crime stories and was pretty hardened however when Emma tells them they often bring me to tears and I have heard tias story before but I was sobbing for tia watching this ….”She was 12” …….RIP lovely tia , I’m so sorry this happened to you and thank you Emma for keeping Tias memory alive in such a beautiful way xxxx
It's crazy how something as amazing and groundbreaking as the internet has been turned into a resource for such depraved, vile people. I know it's not how 99% of people use it but still it's so devastating that these people can use it this way
This poor girl. As a mother to a 13 year old daughter, all I can think about her is terror and pain, and feeling her life slip away, alone with only her killer’s presence.
Add the fact that the person killing her was someone she trusted... someone she believed would keep her safe.. it’s utterly devastating to think about. Poor, sweet, Tia. She deserved so much better from life.
Thanks for covering this harrowing case, Emma. It's one of the most horrific cases I've heard in a very long time. I believe that capital punishment should be brought back for vile people like this.
Florida has made a law that child r*pe is a capital offense! I wish the other states would follow! But, if you haven't seen how the parole process works in other states you should watch mandoo and mandoo two. He presents the videos of hearing in other states, and you will be horrified to see how lenient some states are on who they parole! No matter how many years some (even 50 or more years)of these offenders get, they can be released after as little as a year! It truly scares me so much that I have trouble sleeping!
OMFG - this is one of the worst I've heard. I don't believe in the death penalty and this case is the reason why. Death is not a punishment. It's a way out. The best punishment is a long life lived behind bars, being deprived of liberty, full of pain and misery. I wish this man nothing but the same torture and pain he inflicted on poor Tia for decades.
Hear Hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Execute them and let God deal with them... errr i mean Satan with where they'd end up.
I also have the same concept when it comes to death penalty i believe in the complete opposite where they provide 5 star health care for such a murderer and make sure he lives his maximum life in agony by keeping him away from protective custody and reside him into prison regular population but make sure everyone in there knows what he did exactly while making sure the correction officers give a blind eye to what ever happens to him as long as he stays alive and live his full life thats how victims gets real justice.. Giving him death sentence is all murderers wish where they don't get to suffer and that's so unfair for the victims
What an awful death for this poor precious little girl. I wonder if he ever did anything to his 10 year old daughter?
Order of importance "hit like before watching" because we know every episode is brilliant, regardless of the case being covered.
100% correct my fellow fanxx
Apparently you have to watch at least 30 seconds of the episode before the like counts...
Ha! I do exactly the same!
What annoys me is that as a tax payer I’m helping to feed and house that monster. People like him should be fitted to work to earn their keep.
I wish I could support you more but my financial situation is pretty bad at the moment but if I get to a place where I can afford it I certainly will! Your videos are clearly well researched and I like the fact that you tell us exactly how you feel. You should be paid well for this hard work and helping us see the victims of crimes as rounded human beings not just a name. Thank you. As a survivor of abuse and a retired child protection worker, and as I was born and lived in Cheetham hill for many years this case has always horrified me. That poor little girl had a hard enough life and was working hard to make her life better and other peoples too! She was an innocent child. This man is pure evil. I cannot compute how he can do this to any child never mind his children’s cousin, his own sisters child! 😢😢😢
Nope....He should be subjected to the exact same kind of death that he performed on that child by a MONSTER that would let him know how much he is enjoying it. I give ZERO FU's for this non-person.
Yes and unless they work 17hrs per day (so they get no time to engage in the disgusting memory he has in his head) they should be in a cell that's empty. Why should he get to sleep in a bed and watch tv, why should we allow these people extra protection from the rest of the prison population? Men in there who love and miss their families and just normal guys who happen to be in there through their own dumb choices would take care of him, do to him what he did to his niece, preferably!
@@Lynx112 I completely agree. This evil man is likely being protected in prison and will be in a room where, despite not having some of the freedoms that those like ourselves may have, he is still living a more comfortable life than many others. A bed, basic but clean clothes, access to a toilet and shower, 3 meals a day, television, able to use a phone and will be able to take advantage of any other entertainment available. It's bloody disgusting that he will get all of this,(plus protection!), when there are so many homeless people...and those on benefits or low wages who do not get those basic needs met nevermind all of the rest. Even down to things like he will never have to pay for medication, medics on hand so they get any treatment as soon as possible. After everything he did to this poor child who was lured her to his house because she trusted her uncle.
Our justice system in The UK is a joke. There's people get more time in prison for convictions related to cannabis than paedophiles and murderers. It's sad that we have to rely on other prisoners to get the job done and not our courts.
Evil is everywhere at every second of the day don't trust friends and family always the guilty bastard's they are close to the kids we say beware of strangers beware of uncles and aunts and cousins and step dads and step mums brothers and sisters so sad 😢
Needs 🔥
A family member of mine was a policewoman who worked with this type of thing (for one year - apparently you get rotated out of these units fairly frequently). I have no idea how she had the strength to do it. To look at the evidence and then to be able to walk into an interview room & call these people “Sir” and not just smash them into oblivion take more strength than I can imagine. She was deeply harmed by the experience.
Pink for Tia. Much love much sadness. I’m lost for words in this insanity. Thank you Emma for shining a light on this beautiful lovely little girl.
I have BPD, bi polar disorder and other mental difficulties and I hear voices and I am told to do bad things but I am a compassionate, mature person and I do not do as they say because I know it's wrong!
I have only recently become aware of your channel and have been taking in several of the stories you deconstruct so that we can learn about and better understand all the issues that surround these horrific crime stories. You are so obviously devoted to creating awareness that I really find your work admirable. I also thank you for the warmth and humane way in which you provide your views, for the clear statement of facts and for speaking as if we were all sitting around a table having coffee and were part of the same community.
Hi Em, long time watcher (and im always putting my two cents in) 😂😅 I'm binge watching your vids again. I love your passion, empathy, endless knowledge and how well you articulate these cases so holistically.

To loose your 12 year old daughter so brutally, must be unimaginable agony. To know that your own brother, that you trust & love, did that to her AND inflicted that trauma on you…It’s just so awful. There aren’t words!
Yeah she was really bothered wasn’t she on drugs all time and neglecting her kids

My granddaughter is 12 yrs old and due to my own and my daughters experience of s.a. is very protected and is aware of risks age appropriate. I can't even imagine her being hurt. She is my world. She is growing up at her own age unlike a lot of the girls in her year at school. I fear for the girls growing up to fast. I believe as does my daughter children should be allowed and encouraged to be children for as long as possible. A childhood is only a very short space of time compared to being an adult. We just want her to enjoy it.
You sound like a lovely nanna💜
Emma I applaude you for bringing these cases to all as. As long as they are in the dark they will thrive so what is done in the dark always needs to come to the light for all to see in order for it to be stopped thank you o knew this cases as I am from the Uk but I’m glad you have brought it to all different walks of life on your TH-cam channel so monsters can not hide anywhere after release 👏👏👏👏
This case is so sickening the fact that he was her uncle and could do those vile things to her or any child Feel so sorry for her Mum she wasn't a great parent but she didn't deserve how she was treated Maden is the monster here hope he rots in hell Thanks Emma .....
Unfortunately familial SA isn't that unusual. Many times it's the Bio-dad as a matter of fact
And trash articles gloss over what he did so they can lambaste the mother for being an addict.
Her ma was a dirt bird pathetic 😠😠😠
This is so sad. I share your views on child pornography and child molesters, you are right that the sentences for these monsters are way too lenient. Lock them in with the other prisoners and let them sort them out in the most painful way possible. There are some very sick individuals in the world. Rest in Peace Tia ❤️
They need to be completely and totally removed from this earth . There is no rehabilitation for them and prison is far to good for them . They should be placed in a prison run by mothers and women from society, where anything goes . The abuse and treated they would receive would definitely warm others off of doing the same . The slowly brutal punishments they deserve is all they should get .
I was on olanzapine for years...it must have been incredibly unpleasant and confusing for tia. it is very hard on the body and mind. I really hope it incapacitated her enough to dull some of the pain...
I hope that it did dull some of her pain too. Feels terrible to think about it because she was an innocent child who trusted this snake. You really never know a person's true intentions or inner thoughts.
I am struggling after hearing about this case, I take Olanzapine too. I feel sick thinking about taking them, despite them being prescribed. I look at them and think that is what he used on her and it is messing with me.
I hope so. Its a brutal medication. I took it for PTSD and it stopped my kidneys working properly so please if anyone is on this get regular organ function blood tests done if you can. Also if it stops you weeing go to hospital.
RIP sweet Tia! All the pink for you 💕💞💗💓💝
This was a difficult listen and I agree child molestors are the worst type of human.
I had lots of tears in eyes with this case .
Thank you Emma for handling it in the compassionate way you always do x
I also had difficulty getting through this one. RIP sweet girl.
I don't believe in the death penalty but once in awhile I come across a case like this and I think of an eye for an eye. Don't kill him but give him a taste of what he did to Tia. Make him suffer over and over
Hope tia is having a great time up in heaven with her new friends and family and is resting in sweet heavenly peace until she's reunited with her beloved mum dad and siblings again one day in the afterlife how old would tia be now if she was allowed to live her beautiful life before it was cruelly snatched away from her by a vile hideous poison infested rat who will forever burn in hell for all eternity.
Not just a child molester, but a child rapist and child murderer. These parasites are the worst of the worst without a doubt.
You are my favourite true crime story teller. You show so much care and compassion and can literally feel the hurt your feeling. we can see how much you really care from the bottom of your heart. I cannot even begin to imagine what beautiful Tia had to go throu 😢 I have a 13 year old daughter myself it's just utterly heartbreaking. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
This was another difficult one to take in its shook me the core that you never really know anybody do you. It’s scary and it’s just unthinkable to think what this young girl went through and to think she was walking right into it with no imagination what he could be capable of doing to her 💔😢 TIA 💖🌸💖 rest peaceful in the arms of the angels 💖🌸💖
can you imagine the pain of the mother and grandparents? They raised this person, changed his diapers, tucked him into bed, watched him grow, grew up alongside him. Only to wake up one day and lose their grandchild and daughter to him in a way that is so incredibly horrific that we can't even imagine it.
In a way so horrific that even the investigators specialised in exactly this kind of crime were traumatised from this.
And this was your child, your babygirl. Tortured and murdered by your brother.
The man who you've known your entire life.
I know the siblings didn't have a great relationship, but still, that was her brother, she thought she knew him, she trusted him with all her children.
My mind can't even go there, and I'm sure this mother and these grandparents felt the same.
A stranger snatching your child and don't this to them would be horrific but to find out your own brother did this to your baby?
you are so kind and compassionate with your account, unlike many others on YT. thank you x
Hopefully he meets some characters in prison that give him a more personal experience of what he put Tia through. Tia means Princess and she will stay in my heart forever as my cat is called Tia x

I’ve watched endless hours of murder (child murder) docs etc but this one literally made my jaw drop. Wow. Good job 👍🏻
I recommend your channel every time I get the chance. I have been a fan of you, your mind, and most of all, your heart, from the first time I heard your analysis on the first true-crime series I viewed you on. God bless you.

Seriously, there's no one better than Emma at telling these horrible stories.
I just discovered your channel. You are a wonderful orator. Very engaging with facts, but you lend such a heartfelt personal side to the story as well. It allows your listeners to really get to know all of the victims involved and maybe what drove the perpetrator to their actions.✌️🇨🇦
I’m so glad this case is being covered, I feel like it was forgotten very quickly and Tia just disappeared from the media to never be spoken of again - it was so horrific and barely spoken about. People can now know who she is and remember her for other than how she died. Emma is right, it’s not just a loss to her family but to society, from the sound of things we need more people like Tia in the world to spread some kindness.
Another monster masquerading as a human. You definitely did this case justice. Thanks for creating and sharing 💛
Thank you Emma you did Tia justice , I must say I paused a while and wondered if I could continue and now I am lost for words. RIP Tia 💗

She’s WHAT?!? After what she put that baby through. My god. What’s the world come to.
That woman should never get out! I’m appalled at this news!
If I’m correct she was released in 2013 for the harm on baby p. But broke her conditions and was banged back up! (Nasty child photos) -It angers me. why people didn’t make this much fuss the first time she was realised however better late than never 😄.

I have 2 daughters of my own. I am so protective over them, I’ve been called a helicopter mom. I don’t care y’all can call me whatever you want, but I have met evil face to face. I’ve been through & witnessed things worse than nightmares. I do NOT want my daughters going through what I’ve been through.. I hardly post their photos online, I am very cautious with who is allowed to be around my daughters, & they can not go anywhere alone. I have told them about the evil in this world & how to protect themselves. They’re 13 & 12 years old.
This was amazing,Emma you are such a compassionate, respectful, strong person.Yoy do a job that most of us couldn't even begin to imagine.love and peace to you and love and peace to all victims worldwide
Cases of this nature makes my stomach turn the Most and I can’t describe how frightening this is she must have been absolutely terrified my heart truly breaks for this beautiful sweet young lady 💔😭 also I love the care and sympathy you show for the victims Emma that’s beautiful 💗
Really like these, well done, especially spending a fair bit talking about the victims life in a sensitive and positive way and not just her death.
Will watch the rest of episodes now. Cheers
As I watch this my 12 year old daughter and her 13 year old friend are so innocently sleeping all cuddled up. So beautiful. I've also lost a child and I was suicidal. There are things as a mother you can never unsee. I don't say this for sympathy, we don't talk about this stuff and I think it's important to sometimes. Grief is just love in disguise Emma has said before and I've repeated that to other grieving people. It's a statement that really resonates. This is just so so utterly heart breaking. Monster doesn't even begin to describe him. It really is horror. Thinking of you tonight Tia darling sweet child.
Oh god Em I can hear the pain in your voice talking about this case. I didn’t think I could be more shocked with cases but wow I was wrong. This case is revolting at it’s finest and thank god Maden is locked for for the rest of his vulgar life whatever little it meant to him. Tia was 12 years old when he did this to her and I needs to rott in hell for what he subjected her to. Cases like these make my skin crawl as I couldn’t think there are people out there who think it’s ok to do this to anyone but a child it’s shocking and even more so that he thought it would be ok to do this to his own. One word comes to mind is monster. Thank you again Emma literally the best true crime channel out there 💔
Emma how do you manage to stay sane and maintain your mental health researching these cases week in week out??
I sometimes worry about her too if she wasn't so professional and it's her field. sometimes it can take me 3 /4 times with regular breaks to listen to some of these cases.
I think her pain may be outweighed by her desire to expose these ba$tards (I'm guessing obviously, I don't know Emma) but it must be difficult. We watch for similar reasons I think? I'm prob considered a loud mouthed pain in the arse by many, but I don't care if it makes a positive difference to a person or situation.
Eyes can't see what a dark heart hides 😩
Rest easy little angel 😇
I can picture the pain, the fear, and the utter confusion that this poor girl must've felt. Poor Tia. Her heartbroken family. I never met them, but I feel tears slipping down my cheeks thinking about it. The fact that this was carried out by someone she and her family had trusted makes it even more reprehensible. Tia, please, please know that what happened wasn't your fault. Rest well, sweet girl. It sounds like you are very, very much loved.
I remember this being skirted over in the news. I thought it must have been bad to even make the news! Poor poor child. My heart just breaks for this baby! I hope he suffers everyday in prison. I also think you are amazing the way cover these cases. They are brutal on your mind. I hope you look after yourself and practice self care! Thank you for the work you do. Bless Tia! 💔
Thank you for such a wonderful tribute and letting the world know what a strong, lovely and resilient young person Tia was
Haberdashery throwing made me chuckle despite this harrowing case. You treat victims with such respect and make sure your knowledge of their case condemns whatever situation they were forced into and every word is chosen so carefully you really have the best true crime channel on TH-cam 💕
This case has literally knocked me off my feet and tears streaming! Yet another case of sexually abuse on a sweet pure child! We're left wondering why? Screaming WHY????? These brutal monsters have no remorse no guilt!! They use MENTAL ISSUSE has a get out clause! "it wasn't me Sir it was the voice in my head" How and where do these monsters find such horrific contents? Why aren't our police CID DOING MORE to find these sites??? This really needs more effort from our police please?? This was a little 12 year old child!!! taken from a beast!!!!! surly there's more we can do to stop theses sites!!! GOD BLESS YOU TIA AND IM SORRY YOU HAD TO PASS IN SUCH A WAY, HOPFULLY YOUR IN PEACE XX
I know. I scream why too. It’s so upsetting, confusing- maddening. Just fucking WHY
Do some research & you'll be able to answer your own question as to why the police aren't doing more. Very easy to point the finger when you're speaking from a position of ignorance (as in lack of knowledge).
It makes me so sad whenever I hear you say that someone has been given a rare full life sentence in our country. We should have strict sentences like that more often. In the USA they give out life without parole all the time. It should be like that here without a bloody doubt 😞
Right?! Sometimes America goes overboard, but other countries are sometimes waaayyy too lenient
@@jenniferjamison4912 exactly! They don’t mess about over there. It’s way too lenient here. People mostly do 12 yrs for murder. Disgraceful
100%. For violent crimes, why take the risk?
Just found her channel this week and as an American I haven't fully wrapped my head around the sentences these cases have.. crazy how different countries treat their crimes
Could be worse...... rapists/pedos/etc barely get jail time in Canada..... and even murders eventually get to leave jail.... it's sickening.
Hi Emma! This is the first video of yours I've watched and it was absolutely excellent, very well-researched and respectful. For future eps, maybe you could cover some of the cases you spoke about on Britain's Darkest Taboos? A lot of those cases are very obscure and I believe they deserve to be heard more widely.
Shes amazing!!
I'm from the UK so I was already aware of this case but your deep dives are so thorough there was so much more horrificness to it than I realised. When you said hurtcore my stomach literally flipped. I watched a documentary about Peter Scully who was convicted of murdering children and creating hurtcore videos, and what he did to one little girl was the most sickening thing I have ever heard in my life, and I watch a lot of true crime. It honestly took me a good year to fully recover from hearing about what was in those videos. I can't imagine what it must be like to be a victim of that, your life would be ruined forever even if you survived. These people are sick.
Makes me so angry when drug addicted, abusive, neglectful people keep having kid after kid! So selfish and irresponsible!
I’ll get hate for this but I agree, shame her mum didn’t want to be with her when poor girl was alive 💔😞might have distanced her from that scumbag, hope he gets prison justice n Rots in hell 😡as for Tia R.I.P poor girl, may her next life be amazing and beautiful 💗
I feel the same.
You are right.
I heard the phrase "casual breeders" recently in relation to a case in which a woman with 9 kids killed one of them & buried him in the back yard. It's just baffling. Collect dolls or something, not children you can't possibly care for & seem not to really care about. I feel horribly self-righteous for saying that on one hand, but on the other, thinking about what these kinds of parents do & don't do... yeah, not so much.
Makes the case for forced sterilization of many people that much more acceptable.
I’m absolutely loving your sub count rising so fast! We’re all blessed to have you share your extensive & professional knowledge! 🙌🏼
Thank you Emma for telling Tia’s story the way that you did and for bringing awareness to the fact that this dark world exists.
When you talk about this type of child abuse material a part of my brain almost tries to imagine what it could be (even though I so do not want to know) and then sort of shuts down, which I suppose is self preservation. It's the absolute stuff of nightmares and I share your stance on child abusers and those who view child abuse. In my mind they are not fit to be a part of society, never can be, should never be allowed to be.
what about people who watch all sorts of videos online where there’s someone being bullied, or someone hitting another person ? or be heading videos ? or all the other sick videos ? of course people who watch child sexual abuse videos are fit to be part of society because watching something online doesn’t mean their not fit to be part of society or would even act on it in real life and it doesn’t mean their even Pedophiles some people do it out of sick curiosity, or from pork addiction where they can’t stop watching and at t clicking links then get onto other things.
also they was a video that came out of a man commuting suicide with a gun millions of people watched it are they not fit to be part of society ?
It’s not as black and white as you think of course hand on hand contact is black and white and are a harm to society but not all people who view something online will act on it.
@@benlee1651 your response is very telling
@@benlee1651 I hope people stay away from you. Something is very wrong with you. Seek help.
@@trashcanchic Ben is the window into a paedos mind sadly I suspect
It’s unfathomable as to what goes on in people’s minds…💔😢
Emma, I cried listening to this worker. This eviscerated me, thank you so much for covering. I didn't know this crime and it broke my heart but thank you for covering xx
Thanks
Aww thank you Emma xxx
Emma, this is my first time on your channel and consider me a new sub...I know you take these types of crime incredibly seriously (as should anyone speaking about true crime) instead of some 'creators' on TH-cam actually inserting jokes without thinking.. Speaking up for a 12yr old that due to an unspeakable act can never. Without judgement
Tia deserves more than the "life " she had - and a future she'd never see.
Thankyou 💟
I always knew there was more to learn about this story well done Emma amazing as always xx
Has Maden's daughter been checked??? It really worries me that he could have been abusing her unnoticed
They would of investigated that
Luckily many of these animals dont see their own children that way. They see the children of others as fair game. Which us gross but child psychologists would have done in depth work ups on his own child to ensure they wrrent victimised.
Its good but also makes practical sense as his own childs abuse would have bolstered his prosecution if nothing else.
@@gemmareed4932 they would’ve but that doesn’t mean they did a decent job of it. Look at Daniel Pelka or Star Hobson. These “investigators” don’t seem capable of investigating their way through a three course meal.
Thanks Emma for another interesting episode.👍 PLEASE do a deep dive into the Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka case!🙏 I would love to hear your thoughts about what occurred.
I've heard of the case too. Have you heard about her a few years ago? Have a look online
Hi Emma. I have been listening to you for awhile now, & I am an absolute fan of yours. You are so real, & have a beautiful soul. Thank you. Now! I have to say this also. In 1958, my grandfather murdered my grandmother, whom was only 38 yrs old, he also killed my 2 aunties, 2 uncles & then himself. My Dad was 19 when this happened. He had to identify the bodies. I think, this is why, I listen to true crime, trying to understand why?? Thank you Emma.
Only 7 minutes in & have to pause.
My mom struggled with bipolar all my life. There were a number of suicide attempts, sometimes just self mutilation that went too far
When I was in middle school, I came home to find her half conscious. Xanax overdose. She gave me letters for everyone & told me not to call 911.
She said it was her last wish & I'd never forgive myself if I refused it & she died anyway. So, I agreed. She told me she loved me & passed out.
I went downstairs & grabbed the giant yellow brick known in ancient times as a phone book, and called the number for poison control. They sent an ambulance. I kept my word.
Later, she was so proud & impressed that I thought around the promise. It became one of her favorite anecdotes about me, & it did make me feel smart.
Before she'd even been released from the hospital it was treated as a funny story that made me look good, and so I never really processed what it was like for me that day.
I didn’t want her to die. I was, even at 12-13, familiar enough with her illness to know she didn't want to die. I was usually there to get her through the wave, or at least convince her that it would pass & she would feel better. Sometimes you just need to hold on for a day, a week, even a couple hours, & the desire to leave passes. But I was at school that day. So, I felt responsible.
And, she was right.Giving your word, as far as I was raised, meant something even if you were pushed into it. If she didn’t make it & my last act had been betraying her, I'd have been haunted. I never should have been in that position.
She was a great mom. For my entire adult life, she was my best friend. I learned very, very young the difference between her & her illness & I was able to adapt. I think it made me stronger & more empathetic, but to some degree when I say that I feel like I'm excusing it. She genuinely felt horrible about everything she did when she lost control. She apologized & even if she didn’t remember something, she believed me. We did the best we could. My dad traveled a lot & "didn’t believe" in mental illness. My siblings were 6 & 7 years younger than me.
My mom, myself & her illness balanced on a tightrope throughout my youth. And, it was always about her. She didn't demand that, it's just the way our dynamic evolved. I could handle things she couldn't. Even if it was her guilt for throwing pots & pans at me at 7, as I curled up cornered in the kitchen. When the episode passed, her need for forgiveness was more powerful than my need to be upset, scared or angry.
There were at least a dozen significant suicide efforts, but right now it's just that one that became a funny family story thats on my mind.
I really embraced flattery & set aside any other feeling. Just now I'm thinking about it differently for the first time in 30 year. I'm a little pissed off. I wish I could call her and have a conversation but I lost her a few years ago. I really only thought of it as a cutie story until right now.
I can't imagine what Emma went through with her dad, what any child goes through when they lose a parent to suicide. But I do know what it's like to live with that risk, the thought looming over everything.
Bipolar, like clinical depression & other mental health conditions really does absolve a person of some responsibility. They might not understand what they are doing at the time. But that doesn't change the impact on those around them. Especially the children.
I had a verbally & emotionally abusive ex. We split, years went by, we got in touch & he was doing really well. Married with 2 daughters. I'd never seen him so happy & he glowed when he talked about the girls.
We kept in touch sporadically on social media but I didn't want him in my life too much. I wished him well, genuinely, but hadn't forgotten anything.
Then, one Nov I went to wish him happy bday on fb & learned he'd blown his brains out that July, sitting in his truck. I cried, a lot. Almost uncontrollably. It was about 5% for him & our shared memories. Mostly, it was for his daughters. I actually hoped they were too young to remember him at all because I thought it would be preferable to the loss. Either way they won't have their dad. The wish I'd been able to help him get through the wave.
If you're suicidal please get help. You may not feel loved or worthy of the love in your life but it will permanently hurt & change more people than you can imagine.
it really is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. The wave will pass. Yes, it will probably be back, but that one will pass too. Especially if you're getting help. The waves will reduce in strength & frequency.
I just bloody love the way you deliver these cases.your Chanel is mint.love you Em xxx
There was no voice in this vile scumbag's head. I get so sick of hearing about killers attempting the insanity angle. Some actually are successful and end up merely spending a short stint in a hospital and are released, only to kill again. Thankfully, that won't be happening in this case.
Thank you emma for your compassion on this case I'm a salford woman and when it's round it is truly horrific this beautiful girl who had so much to offer killed by a monster she had no idea about also you was very fair about the dynamics of our area the good and the bad which never gets a shout out your a very compassionate host emma and I love that❤️
Very sad story and you really committed to the story and I feel that too. Thanks for sharing.
You explain these horrific stories so well Emma you have always been my favourite expert on English true crime shows I have seen you on
Emma you did Tia justice ⚖. This is the most sickening case to date, well for me it is. I can't even go to the place of what happened to Tia, the journey this beautiful young girl went through you had me in tears. I cant understand how a family member could even do what that animal did. 😪 Emma the sensitivity of this case you explain it with such humanity and compassion ❤ but still get across the horror of what happened. Another fantastic upload covering all issues regarding trust, family dark Web mental health social care justice⚖. Your amazing and I'm sure it was your vocation in life to educate us all on how murderers act think behaviour. Your experince in life and your job is giving us insight to how the mind works. Thankyou for sharing your vast knowledge. X
Well said!!! ❤️
you're my new obsession right now. love your channel. You're really respectful as you don't put that "creepy" music in the background of your commentary like many other content creators sadly do and you talk about the victims in a way that's really humanizing. rly beautiful. So sad. I love your channel. all respects to anyone xxx
Ur so amazing sharing their stories and rip to all those who have passed away
The betrayal kills me. I can’t imagine what she experienced. I had a troubled upbringing and my aunts and uncles where my safe spaces. She would have been a wonderful grownup
Thanks Emma I vaguely remember this case being a Yorkshire man, how very very sad Tia loosing her life to a sick depraved member of her own family that makes it even more disturbing how does their family cope to have lost Tia by 1 of their own, R.i.p Tia.
Another case covered with such compassion towards the victims.
You mentioned that there are only 40 people with full life tariffs - I know you've covered quite a few by now. Would you consider covering all of the cases attached to those 40 monsters?
I’m so happy I found this channel bring light to things people will not talk about
Covered my tear streamed face for 80% of this video. How can this happen.
Brilliantly told Emma with so much compassion. X
As a former LAC child and on the risk register until I became an adult at 18 I understand that the workloads of some social services are heavy but to play the blame game with her mum who granted wasn't exactly mother of the year and point fingers at social services "failings" - there was no way they could've possibly predicted this outcome in a million years. It's tragic, it's horrid and it was completely unexpected to all involved.
You really never know who to trust. Family, friends, do we really ever know someone is 100% safe?
I've always kept my boys close and this story makes me realise that despite never getting a proper break, I know my kids are safe. This particular case was extremely hard to predict. There was no telling this guy was a complete monster. And that's what makes it the most scary.
Wise...
I love you videos is only the child ones I can't handle I think I will have to pause watching for a while because being a mom of a little boy and my baby girl on the way I am just heart broken to know how awful some people can be. RIP Tia Rigg 💔💔
This case is utterly heartbreaking 💔 😢 RIP Tia ❤. Emma your narrative in your videos are second to none, you show compassion when others would be judgemental. I think the fact the bastard wore a suit after the murder makes me wonder if he felt proud if what he did and I also wonder if he taped the murder and posted it on the dark web. I think the Internet needs to be policed a hell of a lot more to stop these deviants from posting their evil, VILE videos. It is just so, so sad 😞
When horrific things like this happen we want to assure ourselves that this could never happen to our family. Some of us feel safe by blaming people like Tia’s Mum. I think that the truth is…there are monsters hiding in our world & sometimes they only reveal themselves when it’s too late for their victim.
This was a hard one to listen to Emma but you did Tia justice. May she rest in peace ❤️
This is horrific I'm really finding it unbearably, overwhelmingly hard to get my head around this violent torture of children. And that this kind of horror is actually available... And why anyone is capable of thinking it, let alone acting it on their own, beautiful 12 year old niece. I felt your pain while you were telling us this case Emma. I always do with all of your videos, you're so engaging and a beautiful, caring soul. Thank you x
Brilliant episode emma! I really didn't know much about this case until i watched last night! This case is especially terrorfying.... it shows that you actually only truely see whats on peoples faces and never truely see whats really in their hearts!!! Vile... r.i.p tia💟💟💟💟
Good evening all, is it freezing 🥶 again or “is it just me “ 😂
Child abusers and rapists should NEVER be released back into society
No they should not. They never stop only escalate
Was there any reason given by Tia's mum why she didn't 'like' her brother? Could he have abused her at the same age? Could be a reason for the substance abuse as a coping mechanism? Maybe she hadn't told anyone and couldn't explain to her parents or she did and they were complicit in covering it up/thought she was lying? Did she think as long as his daughter was there Tia would be safe? Just can't believe he never acted on this before. He was paranoid due to knowing that what he was looking at/storing and probably acting on was beyond wrong. What do you do with such a waste of skin and bones? I didn't know this case and it is utterly and completely horrifying.
