I don’t know why kit is so interesting to me, been that way the whole twenty years I’ve been in and stuff just keeps getting better and more cool 😎, like Dorr’s beard lol😂.
I've been watching this channel off and on for years now. Recently I went with my mom to a class to renew her ccw because she was nervous. I was amazed at the range and thought "wow these guys seem legit". Lo and behold it was your facility! How cool! Expect me for classes soon 👍
Good stuff. One thing I've often thought about is for a lot us who aren't full time cool guys, having stuff you can get on quickly can be a real difference maker. Just for that reason I like having an ATS or HSGI padded war belt close at hand if I don't want to have to wear a dedicated inner belt every day, but I need to load up a regular in the pants belt with stuff I won't need/can't have on my everywhere I go.
You Navy Seals get great stuff even now! I was a Marine Forced Recon sniper. We had all Vietnam era Allis Web duty belt and nylon suspenders with shoulder straps. On that I had my rook sack or butt back in the rear. 2 M-14;nylon pouches. My M-12 NYLON flap holster, M-69 nylon mag pouch. 2 M-67 plastic canteens. My K-Bar was on my left shoulder strap with duck tape. Right side was my Compass pouch. My Gilly suite boony hat. Chopper flight gloves all in black! 1987-1991 hoorah and Semper Fi Navy!!!! Oh and my Navy seal watch and SOG seal knife. A gift from my seal buddy from Panama days!
Was a rigger at ST-4 before they had all these wonderful systems produced by riggers now. I spent hours sewing and modifying standard issue equipment. Class -7 and bartact machine are a must.
This was really helpful! Could you please do a video on your load-outs while in the non-permissive environments? The clothing, the gear etc that would be above normal EDC but still discreet while you were body guarding, etc.
HSGI slim grip belt, it's padded and comfartable and doesn't move around and easy on off because I'm not running it through my belt loops. TENICOR holster was the best decision i ever made for AIWB.
"Doing more with less" love that quote. Load up with all the gear in your house but then go train with all of it on. You start questioning what you need vs want and how to configure it better or removing it all together. If you have ever been to a multi-day rifle course and seen a SWAT officer training in their required gear...they are loving the training but hating life because those ounces equal pounds very quickly.
I’ve seen so many people say “you don’t need an extra mag. No street gun fights have ever ended up with the defender having to reload” I hate this for one reason. The extra mag can save your life. Say you have a malfunction, it’s way better to strip the mag and reload a new one than it is to mess with the mag that had a malfunction. It could be the mag, gun, ammo that is messed up. Taking one of those out of the equation exponentially increases your ability to defend yourself.🤷🏻♂️
My battle belt is almost exactly the same as when I was in the Navy. I was an HM, so my belt is mostly med gear. I hated having a bulky chest bag, it throw off my balance and I disliked separating important gear with internal dividers. I got a fanny pack and tucked it behind my back filled with meds, fluids, and IV kits, had a TQ under it, and then had my bleed control on a pouch on my left and an airway/etc on my right side. I wanted my medical gear to be stowed close to my hands and my work area. I shoot pistols lefty so I pushed my holster so it was more over my leg but with a cant and had spare mags parallel on my right side leg. In the civilian world I run my handgun in a shoulder holster so I've added a dump pouch and two extra TQ's where my pistol and mags would be.
if you're looking for a do everything holster for your teaching belt try out a blackhawk omnivore you can attach almost any pistol with a rail on it so you don't have to worry about switching holsters if you're switching pistols (just don't think about using them for any real use they are horrible as a carry holster)
In the low visibility ops would you have a backpack or messenger bag? I think you said you did in another video. Naturally you would use what the locals used based on what location you were operating in, but if you were in any place USA. I have no intent of working or carrying out of country so USA. Just think what Cops have to go through. They have to have a large waistline just so they can carry all of the required gear. Also what about a duty belt attached to the bottom of a LBE, Vest, or Body Armour? I would put a pistol and knife on the pants belt and everything else on the Load Bearing Equipment (LBE) in a combat zone. When I was a kid I would have it all on a battle belt on Y or H harness LBE. (Vietnam equipment). However if I had a modern pack with a waist belt it wouldn't work. Alice packs you didn't have to worry about a waist belt. Great Video!!!
Can you explain to others why the riggers belt we're issued isn't optimal? It seriously sucks for a weapons belt or gear belt in general. It's great for what its meant for.
I need to know a mission spec loadout for myself. Normally i like to shoot steel at a flat range, i use dump pouches for my snacks and drinks, i dont shoot that much due to ammo cost, im also a shit shot after all these years. I like to have everything i dont need and i try to never clean my guns ir adapt my gear.
Hello Dorr, would you please do a video on self defense vs. 3-gun GSSF shooting? In the last decade, I took several classes from TR, Gunsite, Rogers, etc.. However I never wanted to get into competitive shooting because I didn't consider it to be self defense. What are your thoughts on this?
Got one Special question about Scar H and Kangoroo Pouches on LTB6094. Is there a way to put 3 Scar H Mag in or are they to big an i have to stick with two Mags in the Kangoroo Flap?
As someone that has ran a awful lot of hsgi gear for a number of years I can honestly say stop buying their stuff. Its not worth it when other options are better, almost anything else is better.
Can you guys do a video for those of us with just buffer tubes and how to shoot them now? My range recently got more strict on shouldering and now with the brace gone I’m not sure how to hold this thing well. Thanks

Cool 😮
I attended there, and I felt they cared more about a $ than me.

Love these videos on kit coming from guys who have actually used it. Keep it coming !

I went with the new Kore battle belt cause it is fully adjustable while I walk. Its more advance than all these cobra belts.

I’ve got a carbine course with Dorr next month, I look forward to learning from him in person!

The knife you pulled out was a Nimravus (which I love) I think and not a Seal Pup. Maybe just a video editing goof.

KISS and make sure you test your set up...Thanks for sharing your wisdom. 👍
Huh. Interesting observation about temperature. I may need to move to a colder place. Crazy is everywhere nowadays though, no escaping it.

Another excellent video. Gear stuff and why y'all use it is excellent info.
THIS IS NICE
I love battle belts🎉
I liked what you said about your knife and why you keep it on your left side. Safety first.

The 9022 is the best ifak pouch. Those honor camo versions were a bargain.
What would you use the pouch for?
@@davemcmahon8140 An ifak.

Thanks for the info. Gave my some great ideas
Might I suggest you look into Wilder Tactical. We have many different configurations depending on your needs. Great video as always 🤙🏽
Great video as usual
Haha it’s like you are reading my mind. I was shooting earlier today thinking I need a better belt set up.

I live in Phoenix and can confirm the hotter it is the angrier we are.
Thank you

My number 1 feature of my edc belt is to not scare the children with my plumbers crack!
So cool.

Dorr does not shoot competitively. We have a lot of videos on the benefits of competitive shooting.
Highly recommend you look into it.
Thank you, sir. I will check them out.
I am from Texas the heat cooks peoples brains. Why I live in Alaska people are way more laid back
Got one Special question about Scar H and Kangoroo Pouches on LTB6094. Is there a way to put 3 Scar H Mag in or are they to big an i have to stick with two Mags in the Kangoroo Flap?
2 is all we’ve ever seen.
This beard is so tactical
What are some good tourniquets to buy?
what brand is the leather belt if you don’t mind me asking
As someone that has ran a awful lot of hsgi gear for a number of years I can honestly say stop buying their stuff.
Its not worth it when other options are better, almost anything else is better.
What medical pouches do you use?
Why do belt videos never provide a link for the holster on the belt? At 5:25 what is that?? Safariland Giant Fastex?? I googled that and nada.
Safariland ALS
How many mags for going to the Tacoma Mall?
Who makes those water wings?
Can you guys do a video for those of us with just buffer tubes and how to shoot them now? My range recently got more strict on shouldering and now with the brace gone I’m not sure how to hold this thing well. Thanks
Stop going to that range.
I can’t lift my bug out bag, and having a dozen belts isn’t helping. I gave up trying to look good.
TQ in holster or rubberbands ?
Both work. Rubber bands ware out though.
How about “angry people live in exploited places, which happen to be hot places because valuable resources are there”?
That was not a seal pup
Wow 😂
This guy likes to play GI joe . He doesn’t know what it’s really like.
- trolling , just kidding . Mad love respect patriot
What kind of pants are you wearing in this video?
Kuhl
Ok seriously there’s no way you guys didn’t refer to those water wings actuators as anal beads right or do I just need professional help
Aaaaaa
Yawn waste of time your belt stuff has no relevance. By the way all those Hollywood films about Ex SEALS is not reality
spoken by someone with zero experience.
