I grabbed these Preset Capture's from your QC page and this is a done deal, my tone searching is over, thanks a lot. Now what do I do, Play! haha thanks
Sounds great either way, but I personally prefer the non-boosted with just the cut knob. Your Quad Cortex captures of this amp are fantastic by the way.
Wow, I really enjoyed the sounds! Great amp and great pedal! And your guitar playing is awesome! I would use the King In Yellow for some situations where it is needed, maybe not all the time in one song, to get more dynamic and to create increases.
I like both and I think it’s more of a feel thing but you also have to fit the mix so depending on the vibe and the groups direction will determine what works. I like the direct sound but for sure the boosted sound hits the guitar pocket just right. I’d like you to do this with you 5150 el34 50 watt on the red channel specifically since I know that’s your 5150 amp, you could also do this with your 6505 as a double down video. Love your stuff man as always!
Without the boost the lows are too fuzzy/congested sounding. It may sound freshing and can be good in some applications. But to me it needs to tighten up the lows for modern metal.
Boost everything! The KIY definitely adds additional harmonics that make the amp sound louder even when level matched in the mix. The slight increase in the compression from the boost also makes the picking attack on the palm mutes more defined. Which clipping circuit did you use for the boost?
All the tones sounded immense, but damn that sound boosted with The King in Yellow is extremely my shit! What a wonderful pedal, it's replaced every boost and OD I own; can't beat that EQ section for flexibility! Edit: Also just want to say one of my favourite things about this channel is just hearing your music, you absolutely fucking rip.
@@SonicDriveStudiothanks for responding. After this i watched your Orange Amps video and just bought a Dark Terror . 😀👍. Pretty sure my wife is not gonna allow me to watch any more of your or Tone Wars videos . Things seem to get delivered days after watching . Lol . Rock on my brother
I still not understand why thousands euros of amps need 60 euros pedals in front to sound good.. Or it is an amp engineering fault, or a guitarist fixation, or the players cant dial amp in a right way.. I m talking especially with the new generations amps which have 3 channels, tons of control etc etc..
Practically no difference in the mix which is the only thing that truly matters. Marginal difference due to the very low tuning which is the tone issue with modern metal. All the guitars sound almost exactly the same because of this muddiness caused by low tunings.
Through TH-cam audio is may not be as evident to hear deep tonal changes. This boost is like taking regular k9 fangs and making them huge vampire fangs

The aggression with the boost on did it for me. But holy crap I want to try this amp! Nice video keep up the great work
Definitely see if you can try this amp if you get the chance!

Brilliant series! I’m always curious about boost vs not boosted scenarios
Absolutely incredible

Idk how you manage to write such interesting riffs for almost every video. Some things get re-used, that’s inevitable but I can tell you really try!
Yes enjoyed this immensely! Please do one with the Red Seven!
Awesome stuff!

Always boost

Good question! I have no idea haha

Thank you!
I noticed little difference, but I prefer it as Boost.Since I'm practicing a Deftones song from the first album, I want to see it with dual rectif.
This amp is monstrous. Makes me want to run through a brick wall.
To boost!
Is the King in Yellow your favorite boost pedal? I feel i need one now
Thanks Jon . 🤘🏻
Also, why do you put tape around strings past the nut ?
Yes! And I do that to mute unwanted resonances

It sounded less tube-y with the boost.
In the words of Ying Yang milkshake or however, you spell his name more is more
What do you think of this amp ? Compared to driftwood purple nightmare . I ordered a Prometheus with el34 & kt88
It sounds a little bit more articulate without the boost to me
Seems to me like the amp is already a box of boosts in itself.
Boost
John the problem is that it sounds so flat…………*wait for it*
A flat…..😏
Dad joke successful! 🤣
No dynamics all fuzzy it's okay in a mix but not great. 2 out of 5 for me

It cuts more in the mix and sounds less full
zero difference.

There's a pretty significant difference but of course you'll need to listen on proper monitors or headphones
Huge difference, time for new ears !!!!
I like It without the boost
