  • Well it's no secret that I love my Pranayama a lot. It is by far the board I use the most and it just performs so well.

    I also really like the 88wheels McFly, 86mm and very soft, light, and being quite narrow, ridden in the rain and no aquaplanning 😊 they are a... softer speedvent 🥰

      A lot of people seem to really like the 88s, never really got the impulse to buy one of those. But thanks for the information, at some point i want to get some too!

      Music is totally unnecessary in my opinion. In many cases, even when done well, it makes it a lot harder to hear and I'm first and foremost here for information 😊

      During your voiceovers, I like no music. If there is a riding montage for a couple minutes, then sure it would be nice to throw in some music, but I'd watch either way.
      Music set at too high a level while someone is talking is pretty annoying.

      @@skate-horizons Is that so?!
      I own a Pranayama and I find it amazing, like really amazing! But the biggest gripe is that I can't take it down the hills I used to, kinda feels more wobbly (because of the tkps?). So my question really is buying a Trip justified even though I have a Pranayama? =)

    • @skate-horizons
      @skate-horizons  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Aeppelpajen Uiii, good question. I mean both are not dedicated Downhill Boards, but the Rkps seem to perform decent. Look at Paul kents Videos, he uses his trip for cross country skates and is pretty stable at higher speeds!
      So you might want to get the trip to complement your quiver ;)

      @@Aeppelpajen To be honest, I would love to, but I'm just not skillful enough to mage a good comparison. I cannot lever all of the trips abilities with my very limited skillset, that's why I am learning :D
      I would love to, but its a little tricky :D

  • @happyon4wheels
    @happyon4wheels หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I had the Pranayama and I have the Supersonic, but not at the same time like you, so I can't compare them anymore. Do you feel a huge difference between those two? Is the Pranayama still lower to the ground, even with the Pantheon trucks?

    • @skate-horizons
      @skate-horizons  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Phew good question. There is not much difference.
      The pantheon trucks are not much different in ride height compared to the paris trucks.
      They are both pretty low. But I currently ride my supersonic with some risers 1/2 inch. I would even say, that the supersonic sits a tiny bit lower.
      But if you look at ridden setups. the pranayama will be lower, lots of people ride giant wheels on the supersonic.
      But on the other hand the supersonic can have a longer wheelsbase and a lot of flex, so practically when pushing you will most likely get lower on the SS.
      I will have to check at some point, but I currenty don't want to disassebmle the Supersonic, since i have it setup for another experiment :D

  • @virgilioscheithauer
    @virgilioscheithauer หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Bro please help me, i want to try shorten my trucks with your method. HOW DO I KNOW THAT IM CUTING JUST THE ALUMINUM NOT THE AXLE ITSELF? should i touch the axle with the saw or do i leave a couple milimeters of of aluminum there just to be safe?

    • @skate-horizons
      @skate-horizons  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well you dont really know.
      My advice would be to mark the saw at the depth you want to cut, for example:
      The axle is 8mm, the thickness where you want to cut is 2 cm so you need to remove 12mm of material. Cut 4mm deep and then stay careful. Work around the truck.
      Rather be a little too careful. You can leave a few mm and file them off later!
      But be aware that my method can easily damage the truck, so stay safe always!
      Good luck!

      Trip was designed by Jeff at Pantheon with RKP in mind and Pranayama with TKP.

    • @tanukistrider6541

      My Pranayama had taken on a few forms over the last couple of years. My current one is my "ultra light, start-stop, dog walker, can carry down a dirt trail" version.
      Tensor mag light trucks (riptide upgraded cups and bushings) and 78mm pink Seismic Blast Waves. It's a little shredder!
      As for the music, I think so long as it's tasteful, instrumental, and low in the mix when you're speaking, it's fine.

    • @eloitsreno
      @eloitsreno หลายเดือนก่อน

      The inherent geometry of RKP trucks makes wheel bite easier with less input. If you are running hard bushings you might be able to get with it, but the experience, from my perspective, will be a very restrictive board.
      TKP on the other hand, turn a bit more with less input, thus allowing you to use softer bushings without wheel bite, although they are more responsive and could seem "twitchy" if you run very soft bushings.
      TL;DR. TKP is the safe play, RKP requieres knowledge and tweaking
