Foggy on mountain....I was up Hailwood rise back in day in fog listening to Joey winding his 2 stroke up mountain never rolling throttle...Then he emerged emerged from the thick soup and gone....Unreal....Keep them coming Lee....
Glare at night is very difficult for any rider, believe me it doesn’t improve when you get near 60. Your enthusiasm for the road riding is lovely to see, it never really loses that magic. I’ve been a motorcyclist for 50 years and it’s still an adventure every time.
I went to the TT twice in the early 90's to watch the Senior, saw Hizzy, Dunlop and Foggy etc, 1st year was the bottom of Bray and the 2nd year was at Signpost. Awesome!
All-year round road rider here. I always wear base layers under textiles, the best by far are made from 100% Merino wool and don't have to be motorbike specific, nor does it matter the outside temperature. In the colder conditions I also wear windproof motorcycle specific mid-layers, and when it's really cold replace the mid-layer jacket for a heated jacket connected to the 12v bike battery. Hope this helps. If I'm commuting I do wear normal clothes instead of base layers, no-where near as comfortable, and I keep the heated jacket for the coldest commutes.
We were there this year. There were plans for various points to watch from but to be honest we just went to Stellar Maris each day. Sitting in the front garden of the house we could hear the bikes approach parliament Square and then see them up through may hill towards the house and up to the hairpin. You could walk up to the hairpin and film the bikes all the way round and then on towards waterworks and the start of the mountain. It's a cracking spot and there's a loo! Got some great photos.
Hi Lee-great vid- when you were @ the hotel, you mentioned your good eyesight- being OLD, in the late mid 70's, Cycle the Amercan bike mag did an assessment/ tests on the then current top US racers, King Kenny , Wayne etc. ALL had exeptional eyesight, logical, maskes sense in modern times. Thank you Rog Fareham Hants UK
Tried many viewing spots when I was at TT 2017. Bottom of Bray Hill, Crosby Jump, Gorselea (my favourite), top of Barregarrow, Ballaugh (sat outside the Raven suppin' a few pints of Okell's), Sulby straight, Ginger Hall (suppin' again), Parliament Square, Gooseneck, Bungalow and Brandywell. Blimmin' brilliant. Used the minor roads inside the circuit to get to various different spots during the same race 👍
Another great vid Lee. 7 of us all booked up for next years Manx/Classic. Returning after attending in 2007 for the centenary. Can’t come soon enough. 👌
Good Vlog, as usual. Riding kit, as a 70 year old riding since 1972 here's my take on it, I always wear long socks to stop boots rubbing, I've got some Daytona thick one's and some Spidi thin one's. Night time riding, yep reflections and dazzle is just part of the fun especially in the wet! The road from Sulby to the Bungalow is a really good ride at any time.
Class video Lee. 5 of us already booked for our first TT next year. Good to get some hints and tips for it. Big love for the Triumphs as well. Hoping to bring my Street Triple R over at some stage.
The amount of basic road traffic infractions was amazing lol stick to racing..... Your more likely to be made into spaghetti from your road journeys man.
Fantastic video Lee really enjoying the vlogs the adventure biking and bike building and of course tge race weekends as well mate jyst keep doing what your doing 😀
Loved your vlog about TT. Great to see from a riders point of view all the best bits. Loved this one Lee, more like it - but on nicer days for you riding and keeping warm 😀 x
Amazing Vlog as always Lee! Great to see you on an ADV bike out there!! Top case looks great btw! My Dad, Brother and I went to IOM for the TT in 2023. We missed you there as you were recovering at that time. We had an amazing trip, our favorite spot was the Creg-Ny-Baa straight! Exhilarating to be mere feet from the action!
Thank you very much Mr. Lee. Every second of this video is really enjoyable to watch 👍 I had a nice three weeks for TT 2024, there was driving and a lot of walking, and I discovered a lot of interesting corners 👑. After watching the video I thought to myself that with the car this winter, when I come to the island, it is not so crowded 😉. I like The Tiger 1200 Hoo Hoo Hoo! Best regards and keep up the good work. Ljubo
The best place to watch the racing from is where you are. There isn't a bad place, really. If you want a truly fantastic experience, then Marshalling is the way to go. Not do you meet great people, but the view is mind-blowing. You are so close to the racing, try it, go on you won't be disappointed, I promise you.
Spot-on Lee! Would really appreciate further rides round with tips/commentary. As regards wearing textiles, I always wear base layers underneath. Looking forward to more.
Brilliant vlog Lee would love to see more like it. Especially the back roads to get around the course when the roads are closed. I’d definitely pay for a day out with you just touring around the island looking at the good spots and how to get around. Keep up the good work with your vlogs. I also think you should come down to west Cornwall and see our beautiful biking roads and see some amazing views.
It’s so funny watching a top road racer going through the spectator process love it! As a long term bike riding fan and several IOM trips it’s great to see. If there’s an LJ TT tour consider us in we will sign up now !
Great info in this video 👌🏻 My first year watching on the IOM was ‘24 and thought I had the island committed to memory from the TT game and various videos like this. I got lost almost every time I tried to get anywhere because gps assumes the “track” is open useable road and it’s hard to avoid 😂 Wherever you end up to watch it’s usually next to a pub or hedge full of buzzing fans. See you guys in ‘25 🔥
Crossing the double solid white lines at Kates will get you a ticket at the TT or Manx. Really enjoyed the Vlog, let’s have more of that Lee. All the best for Xmas and new year. 🎄🍾🏍️
Lee, Good one, loved your comments about the mist on the top, Loved it when it was like that, With being a local could manage it quite easily on a TZ 350, As i knew not just the road layout but the fence posts alongside the track, differing white lines and the gaps between them etc Great fun, Peel was the first Capital of the Isle of Man as it has a Cathedral, douglas got it status in the Queens anniversary 2/3 years ago, Keep the vlogs coming,
Thanks Lee, I loved that. Maybe you could visit some of the camping sites, we stayed at the Corinthians Rugby and football grounds at Braddon bridge for 2024 TT. The facilities were everything you could ask for. £12 a night for your own plot. Big Lounge, TV, lots of showers, Mobile charging ports, Restaurant, Breakfasts served early morning, very clean and friendly staff, big car park and 5mins from Union mills. Thanks Christie for your technical computer skills. Steve
Loved this. First time I watched was at that Electrical shop on the left at the bottom of Bray Hill…. So Fast ! I like The Railway Inn, Union Mills 🍺 love the Vlog, dunno why I’ve never commented to say hello 😂🫶👍🏻
Brilliant vlog. A full onboard lap, you talking through it and more tips for viewing would be great. Personal favourite spots, k tree and gorse Lea. Love the channel
Brilliant video Lee, your obvious enjoyment is infectious, I got the feeling watching you you just wanted to drop the reins and let the bike go !!! every bit was enjoyable and yes to all your ideas, I have a confession to make I have not had anything bigger than a moped, but now at 67 after watching your videos I would love a go on a proper bike😱😱😂😂
Nice one Lee 👍 really enjoyed that . Never done the TT but I've done the Manx a couple of times and doing it again in 2025 can't wait . Some great tips there thanks .
Great vid Lee yes can we have more TT guides please. I was over on the IOM on the bike in August 22 and it was just as wet and misty then! Been to the TT about 27 times and love to hear others enthusiasm for the event. 🙂
Hi Lee. Saw you nearly over balance the rally pro at Ballaugh Bridge .Mine was too tall for my limited stature .So I fitted the Lust 1.3 inch lowering links, cheap, and a 10 min job, and the Triumph low cut seat option.Bike is brilliant now ,pillion safe in traffic, and no need to change the side stand. Great bike. Cheers and keep those great Videos coming 👏👍
Super excellent video. I just popped over from the Bru-Time podcast. New subscriber here. Very interesting channel. I’m looking forward to watching your channel. Cheers from 🇺🇸.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your invaluable, well-informed insights. Maybe try some specs with tinted lenses to reduce headlight glare. Like shooting glasses. Cheers!
this is an awesome idea for a video! would love to get a similar one with more in-depth info specially with the clips with the actual view you get at each spot, for us to know/decide where to go based on what we will actually see. I remember I spent more than 10 hours trying to find info about each view place and how to get there / where to park / if there are bars/restaurants/toilets nearby / what is the view actually like / where you can/can't be (I found that many of the places where it used to be possible to watch are now prohibited). also you get locked in some of the places - once you arrive and the race starts, you cannot get away until the race stops for lunch or on the end of the daym hat's a good info to know haha
My bucket list isn't very long, it goes like this: 1) Visit the TT *End* I'm sure there already are a bunch of these but I'd love to see a full lap at legal speeds with the names of the corners and parts of the track shown on screen. Commentary would be nice but not necessary. Great vid as per usual, I really enjoy this format! Keep it up!
My favourite bit to watch is Kate’s Corner Marshal Post, but you have to volunteer as a marshal to stand there, go in you won’t regret it. Failing that Hilberry across the stream from the fanzone is awesome.
Ta enjoyed video... Seeing your track as a normal traffic road. A walkaround that new City of Dooglass would be good. Sister city to Dugluss I am guessing. 😊 Good luck in training and ta for great content and entertaining us mere mortals. Merry Xmas to you and family and your future teammates🎉
Great vlog as always Lee. Really enjoyed it & great information. I've always wanted to go to the TT & actually went this Year for 2 days, unfortunately not on my bike! Booked again for next Year & hopefully the weather will be better. I think it's a great idea for you to vlog more IOM footage with viewing spots & insider information. I find it really useful especially how to move around to different locations. Keep up the good work & I'd deffo be interested in a Lee J tour 😂🤣. No announcement yet on your racing next season I hope you have something sorted soon I know there is another win on you 🏍️💨🏆. Good luck & ride safe.
I'm guessing this was filmed back in may/June time, I've not been watching many ytube vids but I always try get some content from yourself lee when I can, how's things with you're injury are you retired or you coming back?
Some people don't realise how limited the visibility can get on the mountain. I went over once in bad weather (and only once) when the visibility was so bad you could get lost between white lines. You couldn't even see the sides of the road.
Great video Lee, I’m always interested to learn new viewing points just to shake it up an enjoys different views/speeds you boys do. Perhaps a little guide on how to get to some of these parts when there are hundreds of bikes trying to get parked up with very little opportunity to park. I do t mind d walking to get a good vantage point but that really doesn’t work with your idea of travelling from one part of the course to the other as that become even more difficult to find any decent parking as most of the popular areas, you need to be in place an hour or 2 before the road closes and racing starts. Looking forward to you next one and hopefully you will do these type on the island showing more detail. Fingers crossed for better visibility too! 😎 Keep up the good work!
Just skin tight base layers similar to what you would do for mountain biking under cycling shorts. in my experience there is no point in paying loads i am currently using cheap fleece type ones from primark! They work great.
definitely more,go twice a year and can't get enough of the place, maybe go down the short cuts, let people see what they're really like as the road from ballaugh to the snaefell plantation crossroads is a wee bit interesting in parts, good short cut from onchan to hillbery too, also laxey to the cregg, good idea with the tours 👍
Thanx for this video Lee I can't wait to get to my first TT in 2025 but I will be fly into the Isle of Man so I have no idea how I will be able to get out and around the track from Douglas but im sure I will find some way of getting to some of the places you mentioned
Great vlog Lee, thank you. Hubby & I have never been to the TT. We live in Suffolk. The logistics of booking matching motorcycle travel and accommodation so far in advance has always been a pain. It's really annoying when people book ship travel & pay the deposit early, block it all up and then try to flog their booking when they have to pay up the full invoice amount. We would love an 'all inclusive' service of travel, accommodation and a guide for the practice & race weeks. As long as it was well organised and sensibly paced. This would be a great service for all the UK road races, Manx GP, NW200 and Olivers Mount. Totally understand it would be a mammoth task to organise, but worth thinking about as a future retirement plan for you maybe??? I'm sure people would be happy to pay for a professional service. Take care and Merry Christmas to you, Kristie and Jessie xx
Great video, Lee! We went to the TT in 2023 and it was cool to see all the places we visited. We rented a bike a lapped the course and side tripped. We had a blast. We are going to the NW200 in 2025; we have never been before. If you get a chance, will you do a similar video?
Very informative video. I have not been yet, I was due to go when Flybe went bust and on top of that accommodation fell through, lost £600. Never mind, lesson learned. To be fair I think with your humour thrown in I could watch you paint a wall.
I went up the mountain for the first time ever on June 1st this year. In the morning. We didn't get mist, we got entire clouds climbing UP the mountain from below me. 50 yard visibility. Terrifying. Didn't get a chance to go again.
i wear either thermals or RST wind block thermals if its below 5c, Good luck on your Ventures Pal.....👊, Also i wear a Balaclava 5c and below (Triumph do a Thermal one which is very good)
Great vlog as always, love sitting by the Creg, more isle of man vids pls. I wear leggings/thermals under my trousers and have a Keiss heated bodywarmer, a game changer 😊🇮🇲🏍
Hi Lee, absolutely loved your tour of the IOM and the TT course. Would definitely like to see more even though we have been over many times for the TT and MGP. It could be very entertaining with you visiting cafes etc and blagging freebees😂😂 Can I join you on the next one? Cheers Andy H.
the outside and inside roads you need to check out! Sulby (Ginger Pub) then up to the mountain is awesome but traffic is mad! so many places to watch as a fan on this that you havent seen! you could do hours of places to watch like Lee says. Local knowledge is key :p
hey lee great video i noticed you said about your visor steaming up and i may have a little suggestion for that so you could look in to an item called exfog xt now its not used for motorcycle helmets normally but im prety sure it would do the trick i use it to stop my motorcross goggles from steaming up and you get the full kit the unit box its self cable and magnets for it and you would run the cable from the exfog inside yuour helmet close to the visor and essentially it would stop the fogging works a treat on my motorcross goggles and its only like 55quid
Love this! Can I come with you next time? TT is on my bucket list but I am rubbish at organising myself. Would like to know how much of the viewing areas you have shown are easily accessible or have to be booked? Fantastic knowledge mate (ps I wear jeans under my waterproof stuff but a baselayer works just as well if you’re staying in your kit)

Hey Lee I might be an idea to get Chrissy to blur out the speedo or the old bill will have you.
shhhhhh it was in "km" - well that's what I'd say
Plus Lee crossed a solid white line overtaking the Lambo 🤨
The amount of basic road traffic infractions was amazing lol stick to racing.....
Your more likely to be made into spaghetti from your road journeys man.
Fantastic video Lee really enjoying the vlogs the adventure biking and bike building and of course tge race weekends as well mate jyst keep doing what your doing 😀

Hats off on the time of the video 👌💯. Itching to get back there now 😂

Crossing the double solid white lines at Kates will get you a ticket at the TT or Manx. Really enjoyed the Vlog, let’s have more of that Lee. All the best for Xmas and new year. 🎄🍾🏍️
There was alot more infractions than the solid white line lol 😆
Some dodgy road skills that could result in an accident...

Great stuff. Thanks!
Am heading to the tt for the last two days hope to see you racing around it
Nice chilled video dude - pity about the fog but sh1t happens 😁
Inside the track at sulby to can get to ginger hall as well as the bungalow
Mizzle, you said coming out of Ramsey you are definitely from Northern Ireland .great video 👍👍👏👏.Manxman 🇮🇲
Great video.

Good Do Lee 👍
I like it up at the bungalow but union mills is also really good as the WI do tea and cakes!
hey lee great video i noticed you said about your visor steaming up and i may have a little suggestion for that
so you could look in to an item called exfog xt now its not used for motorcycle helmets normally but im prety sure it would do the trick
i use it to stop my motorcross goggles from steaming up and you get the full kit the unit box its self cable and magnets for it and you would run the cable from the exfog inside yuour helmet close to the visor and essentially it would stop the fogging works a treat on my motorcross goggles and its only like 55quid
I have no idea how anyone remembers a track that big never mind races around it
