I did exactly the same thing with the 2nd one in my first playthrough (got the first one tho). I've also missed the only bonfire in the "funhouse" (don't want to spoil).
I love how every DS playthrough I see is so unique. He navigated through upper Blightown quite well, missed the first bonfire (which I've found), then missed the second one with the same mindset I had (I was afraid of going there too, it looked scary xD).
The Claymore is a great all-rounder but don't sleep on that Zweihander man, it's ridiculously good, like _game-breakingly_ good because of the 2-handed heavy attack. Any regular humanoid enemy literally gets flattened on the ground with every hit, and it does huge poise damage to those that don't. Other heavy weapons like the Great Club can do this too, but the Zwei has a more versatile moveset.
Honestly, the best part of all your playthroughs is that you cant get an episode like this one if chat spoils you where the 2 bonfires are. Quality content as always 👍
What made blight town especially bad before was that before the remaster it was basically impossible to get a framerate above 20, and 20 is the high estimate.
"Oh no, I do little damage to the boss. Ok, let's level up my vitality that is already too high💀" bro stop your vitality is fine, it's time to do some serious damage pls
The reason you keep getting jumped is because you are agroing so many enemies. And as you know, enemies will chase you really really far. Probably the worst thing a new souls player can do is retreat forwards instead of backwards. Because they don’t know what’s coming next. And they just end up running into worse danger while being pursued by the enemies they left behind. The e best solution is one on one controlled engagements, with an amount of caution and a good sense of timing. You can bait out attacks with shield guarding. Then when they recoil from the impact you can go in for a free hit. Plus with that big weapon like the claymore the two handed heavy attack is great against multiple enemies.
Yeah that's what Im saying. Running past enemies in an area the first time through does really work for new players. Cause they haven't learned enough about enemy types to do it effectively, nor are the getting enough souls to fight what they are running into. Like the Undead Burg was supposed to teach him this but he ended up running through it. Blightown was supposed to be the last lesson in this before Sen's... I hope he's prepared.
By the way. there's a secret area if you went across the base of Blighttown. Probably the second best area in the game but it's really well hidden. It's behind like three illusory walls.
davo to keep upgrading weapons you need to click on the ascension option. once you ascend a weapon once (for example, from +5 to +6) it will go back to the regular upgrade tab.

you can climb some roots in a corner of the poison water area, theres a “secret” hole/chest with some hidden walls behind it 😉 it may make your entire blighttown trip worth it. Also that entrance at 41:40 is your best friend, you should go in there as soon as possible
davo you missed the power within, that's the best pyromancy spell for melee builds (increases your damage by a lot, but you take damage over time). it's the item that spider thing was guarding, I'm pretty sure you just have to keep hitting it from behind (pause) until it dies. it's worth picking up even if you don't want to use pyromancies

Just left the stream! I can now comment on the video. First off, you did great for your first foray into blighttown. It's an area that can be confusing because of how narrow the passages are, how many enemies there are, and the poor visibility. As everyone else pointed out you did miss 2 bonfire that were in your immediate path, however, there is a third bonfire hidden in the area... see if you can find it! It leads to an area you can FALL in love with just watch your step I... really don't know what other tips to give you at this point. Just the usual, be aware of your surroundings, if you come across an area with no loot or just one piece of shitty loot look for hidden walls cause the devs be tricky like that, and keep in mind that there are some npc invasions that you need to be human for. Some of those invasions drop good loot so if you need details just ask. It's nothing game breaking but it's nice loot to have if you're a completionist. Just have fun with it and don't listen to anyone if you don't want to, go and do where and what you damn well please! You only get one first blind playthrough
36:30 He died 20-30 meters away from the bonfire, he also missed the first bonfire. Toxic dart throwers do NOT respawn once killed. The Blightotwn parasite could have been killed you just need to attack his rear more times. He guards the power within useful pyro spell for ANY build in boss fights. +dmg and stamina recovery at a cost of 1% hp per second well worth the trade off. +0 crossbow basically does almost no damage to anything. Fliers have 7 "lives" per spawn point and those reset at every bonfire. So they have limited respawns but multiple spawn points. Throwing knife is good against them. Modify Claymore+5 into+6 at Andre and use the mobile weapon upgrade kit for the rest. Some weapons are str, dex, and some like the claymore, Zweihander are quality so they scale okay with both. For those weapons, you want 27STR and 40 dex if you have two hands.
