The Interstate system is amazing to me. Just drove Interstate 10 from Ft. Stockton to Austin, TX and I marvel at the engineering done to make long distance driving so easy. I wonder what driving was like before the Interstate system. Great video. 4k quality and NO MUSIC. Love it!
@@SylkaChan Shasta Lake is the south edge of the Cascadia bioregion, then the biome completely changes. There's a little bit of forest on the south side of the lake, but once you're out of the hills, the land flattens out and it becomes dry brush and oak trees, then becomes more arid. It's a pretty fascinating ecological area.
Superb film here of The Grapevine, southbound, in real time with wonderful colours - between 6:59:00 and 7:04:30 - the magnificent stretch where I-5 climbs into the mountains from the Central Valley. A dramatic. It is very welcome that this fillm shows The Grapevine as it really is, as it is not 'speeded up' as some on TH-cam are are, or jazzed up with music. Many thanks.
Yup, blew me away when that part came up 😍! Driver should've snapshot it and made postcards, a truly magnificent sight to behold (especially that time of day)...
I'm sad to admit you're putting more miles on your auto than I do on my truck, its an 18 wheeler, but I sure get more enjoyment from looking through your windshield than I do mine, thanks for all your efforts, all of these are excellent
Orange County I-5 freeway, section from LA to Santa Ana/Irvine area, probably one of the best in the entire country. Wide lanes, at least 5 lanes in one direction, clean, excellent exits and bridges, 2 carpool lanes in many places, no homeless camps to be seen. Just excellent!
3:31:54 3:31:55 3:31:57 Fun fact: I-5 is the only interstate highway that connects the Canadian border with the Mexican border. If you cross the Mexican border, it becomes federal highway 1. On the other hand, if you cross the Canadian border, it becomes BC-99, which would take you to Vancouver.
1:38:42 1:38:42 1:38:43 1:38:44 1:38:45 1:38:45 California is big indeed! It has the second longest stretch of interstate highway. Only the Texas stretch of I-10 is longer (about 870 or so miles).
i use your youtube videos as my white noise to help me sleep at night. also I am autistic. i like 15 passenger vans, and Airbus A321 aircraft as a hobby. i also like Yamaha stereo equipment.
A higher resolution camera would allow viewers to read the signs. Most were illegible. Also, it was not necessary to exit the highway at the "last US exit"; there is a place to make a U-turn just before crossing the border.

Sorry baby, you need to pull over and let me jump out. This road @1:25:00 is just too plain for me. Where are we? Indiana? I'll catch a ride with another friend of mine. He's driving around some rocks and stuff. Yeah, this'll do. Pull over. Hand me one of those beers though, first. It might be a while before he rolls up. See ya! Wouldn't wanna be ya! Naw, it was cool. 😆🤣😉🙃😊
Well over 7 hours and I think I just saw two birds. I don't think I have yet seen any wild animals, farm animals, solar panels (on a roof or in a field), or wind farms. You usually see most of these on any decent drive in England.
There's really no wind farms along I-5. They're on the Altamont along I-580 in Livermore, along I-10 in Palm Springs and Hwy 58 going over the Tehachapi, east of Bakersfield.
Can't believe a driver can make it to the Mexican border from the Canadian border via I-5 in JUST under a day (non-stop)! That said, this particular road trip makes me realize what a real gem California truly is and why naturalist John Muir wanted much of this state turned into national park land when he first came out here a long time ago. Shame decades of political shenanigans on both sides ended up turning this beautiful part of North America into a place of utter lawlessness, corruption, and social/environmental decay. We can definitely do better than that, but gotta overcome our hard-wired apathetic tendencies first! 🪞😔👈
Oh, and 8:15:43 is where I get off (near the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles where I currently live). Too bad you can't exit off on Florence Ave from that side, would've almost been a straight beeline to my house heading west just a couple blocks past Crenshaw Blvd... 🙃👌

17:00 - how did it get arid all of sudden, that part looks like central California.

Before the interstate - it was OK if you were sightseeing, but absolutely sucked if you were just trying to get somewhere!

Emitting so much co2 to film a meaningless video... just do train cab rides instead.

56:34, California's "signature" bridge sound
I am from Redding and I cross that bridge all the time when traveling down to Sacramento
7:44:33 How do we know we are in LA?
Powerlines: *allow us to introduce ourselves*
Lol so true. When I go on highway 5 they let me know where I am
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks, will use this video as my screensaver! xD
Exelente video amigo saludos🙋🏻♂️
Great video loved seeing that you come from so far and pass by Oceanside idk makes me want to just go on a road trip
3:40:00 That is somewhere North of Los Angeles I would think. A symbol for america. Green on the one side, complete desert on the other side.

My life of i5, miss the west coast
I know this would probably be a four parter each but can you do one going eastbound on the I-10 and I-90.
56:34 goofy ahh bridge 💀
Uh oh. There’s no stream anymore?
Could you do the entire i-5 again going north?
Very relaxing. How many hours?
Around twenty-one hours in total driving time.

California's roadway signage is horrible!
European roads expressway highways better and smooth than American road's .....
