His solo career at this point was still on the rise with no real slowdown in sight. One can only imagine, though...
Although I was too young to witness Teddy Pendergrass in his prime, he was the total package. His voice was as phenomenally beautiful as he was physically.
You can see the passion from this man, like even without seeing this video you can feel it in the song. Songs like these are the pure essence of R&b. Bless him.

I am so embarrassed to say I didn’t know of this song until Mac Royals on The Voice performed this song before he was eliminated. It gave me goosebumps and was performed so beautifully that I went looking for the original version to see how he made it his own. What a blessing this song is to the world.
