I absolutely love this piece. You’re such a talented designer and maker. I think however my favorite part of your videos is your smile when you love how it turns out!
They are the focal point. I would suggest highlighting that negative space with contrasting 3D printed plastic sections, or using contrasting ebony wood (or even brass inserts) to reinforce the square and make it long lasting as it would reduce the friction/stress to the corners. As always, the creativity is always something to behold, as well as the creator's joy beholding the fruit of her mind's eye. Fabulous!
I thought the exact same thing! The sqaure peg/round hole adds a nice visual appeal. Edit: I LOVE the poster of Smudo on the lounge wall! What a photogenic dog!
Installed these on a riding mower th-cam.com/users/postUgkxetgfkJxfdT_B2vGYP-uNTLaBbim9OKTD . They were sharp out of the box, although I've never liked blade edges that were coated...not quite as sharp as I personally want. Using my belt sander, I removed the coating from the cutting edges and refined the edge enough to shave with them. So far, after three runs, these blades are holding up as expected. Even after hitting a few fallen 1/2 inch or so branches, the edges are still sharp as heck. No edge dings, no warping, etc. As far as installing them, the cutouts were of the proper size and shape to fit my aging Craftsman mower. Very satisfied.
I have to say I love your videos. It's such nice treat every Sunday to sit down with a cup of coffee and watch someone who's so happy and positive build cool stuff to chill beats. Just what I need these days :)
Dear Laura, I've been watching your videos for years now! I keep watching them for that smile at 7:33, that you have when you finish a project and it works the way you intended it. I love your work! Thanks for posting.
Oh Laura, Du Quell an Inspirationen.
Thanks Sharon! The spraypaint trick is very useful. And if you use that spraypaint radius throughout a project and your work in general it gives a visual consistency. I love that
10 seconds in, I'm already marvelling at your innovations... Pencil sharpener on measuring tape? Of course! Gotta love some German efficiency and Laura's creativity!!
Yet another sleek simple design. I agree with the other comments about the smile at the end of the video. There is nothing like the satisfaction of working an idea through to a functional and good looking piece. And a great way to start my Sunday morning!
Once again Laura, you’ve created something really practical and very simply without the need for complicated joints and probably only took you an hour or less to do, well done 👍 indeed.
Chaque fois que je regarde vos créations, je reste impressionné par la qualité des machines de précision, qui ne vont pas à l'encontre de la réalisation.
Hi Laura. Thank you for this Idea. I made just a few changes, so i could build a diningtable. If you only need one once a year, it's awesome to be able to store it :) Thaaaanks :)
Beautiful work as always. I think I’ll make one but drill some large holes to accommodate dog food bowls. My 13 year old Weimaraner would love it. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Loved the project, but also loved your use of those styrofoam blocks for supporting the plywood while jigsawing it! And to think I’ve thrown them away! Ha! Also liked your trick of wrapping the spray can with sandpaper since it’s the same radius as the cut! Thanks for teaching an old dog new tricks! (I’m 60) LOL!
Actually I think I’ll build a similar table, but use it a dog step in to the car. My soon to be 10 year old Dalmatian have problems jumping up in the SUV and I have twisted my head to find a solution. This seams to be it!
Seeing you smiling, being proud of what you designed and produced is so cool. I love when creativity and passion make us as happy as you look to be at the end of this video.
That cut would be very difficult & dangerous on a table saw, its a bit of a PITA on a bandsaw but relatively easy with a jigsaw - just use good blades like Bosch.
The pencil sharpener on your tape measure blew my mind. I almost exclusively use a 2mm leadholder and I'm still going to make that mod to my tape measure. Absolutely brilliant. Nice table also, but that SHARPENER PLACEMENT. I'm excited. I love that so very, very much.
@Jorge Jaramillo, Many here have warned Laura for years to no avail. I was once like her, couldn't be bothered until a wire from a wheel on a bench grinder came loose. I hold out hope that she will change. Eye injuries are no laughing matter.
At first I was thinking the pegs would look/work better if they were round, but, I see what you were going for. You were pointing out you CAN fit a square peg in a round hole. Well done. :)
I love watching you work. It reminds me that my "perfect" workspace just needs a place for everything, and space for whatever project has my attention at the moment (and some back-burner spots too) Nice little clamp cups as well! I always lose the ones that come with them.
May I ask, how long did it take you to get to this particular stage of effective work-space, given those that have come before. Iterative processes take a long time, but maybe your answer will help me feel better about my personal snails pace?
I was thinking of changing the old-fashioned table that we have on the balcony of our apartment and I did not find any solution that I liked but I think this concept is perfect, since it can be folded when space is needed, in addition to having a simple but beautiful design. Thanks for sharing.
I was wondering the simplest and cheapest way how to build a small table to donate a few for local comunity use. Basically it's for kids quran reading class. Thanks Laura, as yr video is the first one that appear when I search on TH-cam.....👍👍👍👍👍
First time I've seen your work and not only am I mesmerised by you, your talent, but also just in seeing how you can create awesome things without (appearing to) have spent pile of money on machinery. I think the most expensive thing I saw was your Let the Glue Dry block.... LOL............. I loved every second of this.... NEW SUBSCRIBER INDEED
Laura's "mission acomplished" smile is always priceless
AAAaAaaaaaabsolutely! :) and it's always earned :)
It’s utterly heartwarming. Seeing clever people be proud and satisfied with what they’ve made with their hands is a thing of beauty.
I absolutely love this piece. You’re such a talented designer and maker. I think however my favorite part of your videos is your smile when you love how it turns out!
This is the ”Laura-style” videos i really like. Its almost like meditation to watch. Thanks! Nice!
The glorious return of the "LET GLUE DRY" WEIGHTED BLOCK. ALL HAIL LET GLUE DRY!!!
I love the square pivoting in a circle. The magnets are a great addition to hold it all together.
The magnets are so satisfying! The „click“ almost has a zippo quality :)
Laura Kampf magnets are very cool indeed! I like to countersink them with a forstner drill so they are out of sight.
They are the focal point. It looks nice but I am worry about the lasting of the wood, the square section may brittle with time, no ?

They say you can’t put a square peg into a round hole, well I say you haven’t met Laura! Well done. 👍
I have to say I love your videos. It's such nice treat every Sunday to sit down with a cup of coffee and watch someone who's so happy and positive build cool stuff to chill beats. Just what I need these days :)
I am an Egyptian carpenter and I love this work accurately and I love innovation in manufacturing and you are excellent work
Dear Laura,

I love your work! Thanks for posting.
This is the perfect floor desk that I've been looking for. I wish I could buy it

What a sensational piece! I want a flip up table in my workshop, as a bench extension ….. I’m gonna steal that leg idea. Genius!
The look! Can’t fake it. When it’s good, it’s great! Such joy.
Simplicity and inventiveness in both your design and your technique for building it. It’s really nice.
You could absolutely sell these. Your work is always simple design, expertly crafted. Wonderful!
This is such a cool and sleek design! That hinge idea is so good! And I love that you used the spray paint can to sand the round corners!
Thanks Sharon! The spraypaint trick is very useful. And if you use that spraypaint radius throughout a project and your work in general it gives a visual consistency. I love that
Among the many things that make your videlos special, your choise of music is top among them. Thank you for the music Laura.

Great to see an “old” Laura project that uses tools us mere mortals can obtain. Definitely going on the todo list for the bach
Congrats on closing into 1,000,000 subscribers Laura !!
I love the elegant simplicity of it all - the build, the video, and YOU! Thank you for making. And thanks for sharing with us.
You're so cute when smiling! Extraordinary work!
Great design! I'm currently trying to work out a good way of making a folding table for my van, and this has given me a bit of inspiration.
As soon as I saw the pencil sharpener on the measuring tape, I clicked 'subscribe'. It just makes so much sense.
Te Felicito Laura! Un trabajo muy bonito y muy limpio. Un abrazo desde Perú

Very cool design. Love how simple it is. Especially the blocking and locking mechanism of the legs.
You are not afraid of hard work. Looks great.
Everything is beautiful in your videos! Greetings from Bulgaria.
I was looking for another foldable table but I stayed 'till the end, nice work! congrats!
Hi Laura. Thank you for this Idea. I made just a few changes, so i could build a diningtable. If you only need one once a year, it's awesome to be able to store it :)
Thaaaanks :)
🙋 Привет из Беларуси! Hi from Belarus 😊!! Laura, you are so Cool 👍! Your works are amazing 👌!!!
Such a deservedly satisfied smile at 7:33 :)
Fab project
Very nice creation. It was a pleasure watching the video.
You are a beautiful human, Laura, talented and joyful. I've researched dozens of table ideas and yours is far and away the best. Thank you!!
Beautiful , simple and functional. Brilliant square in the circle idea . Thank you Laura !
Beautiful work as always. I think I’ll make one but drill some large holes to accommodate dog food bowls. My 13 year old Weimaraner would love it. Thanks again for the inspiration.
The smile of joy after hard day working and editing thanks for the video It’s looking good

Great simple project. Very elegant and customizable.
Nice job! the little run with the router just added a subtle touch of class with the finish 👌🏼
your "i made this" smile is priceless. it lightens my mood every time.
This entire video was a vibe!
Love the sleek minimalist design! 👍🏼
Seeing you smiling, being proud of what you designed and produced is so cool. I love when creativity and passion make us as happy as you look to be at the end of this video.
Love the design! Cutting with a clamped piece of lumber to act as a guide for the jigsaw cut is a great tip if you don't have access to a table saw
Yes, I helps so much. Just make sure you go slow otherwise you blade will curve
That cut would be very difficult & dangerous on a table saw, its a bit of a PITA on a bandsaw but relatively easy with a jigsaw - just use good blades like Bosch.
Excelente trabajo u excelente profecional .
Saludos desde ARGENTINA🇦🇷
Love the square hinge lugs. Simples. You continue to rock nicely.
Very cool build! The portability is awesome and very clean! Well done Laura!
I like how you show it being used. A lot of woodworkers on TH-cam don't do that.
Great project and video. Very clever hinge design. Music is on point. Thanks for sharing.
First time I have seen one of your creations, amazing. A real inspiration
Genius idea great space saver well done
The pencil sharpener on your tape measure blew my mind. I almost exclusively use a 2mm leadholder and I'm still going to make that mod to my tape measure. Absolutely brilliant. Nice table also, but that SHARPENER PLACEMENT. I'm excited. I love that so very, very much.
I like the blend of your work... furniture with a twist plus long running projects like the horse box. Thanks again
I love to mix things up. I get bored easily that why this was a great change from the horsebox
Amo tu trabajo.. I love you work.. Gracias desde Chile💚💚💚
Very nice hinges and stops for the legs. Just one security sugestion: use safety glasses while on the table saw; your eyes deserv them.
Safety glasses. But I agree, even if nothing is flying towards your eyes, they will keep the sawdust away!
@Jorge Jaramillo, Many here have warned Laura for years to no avail. I was once like her, couldn't be bothered until a wire from a wheel on a bench grinder came loose. I hold out hope that she will change. Eye injuries are no laughing matter.
Wow! Thats a fantastic table. I absolutely love the design. Well done
Keep that smile... Love it... And well done....
Great table, I loved how happy you looked when things went right!
Another fantastic build! A leather carrying strap would look awesome and be handy.
Very talented, well done.
Greets Danny from The Netherlands
Dat is een mooi en zeer eenvoudige tafel. Leuk ook om te maken. Bedankt voor de film.
Great looking table Laura!
Thanks Ellen!
At first I was thinking the pegs would look/work better if they were round, but, I see what you were going for.
You were pointing out you CAN fit a square peg in a round hole.
Well done. :)
Great little project very nicely finished. Cheers from London England 👍❤️😎🏴🙏
Absolutely love the way you've made the legs hinge, that's superb
True art in it's purest form. Love the filming of it - and especially love the sharpener on the tape measure!
Awesome work Laura! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
What a brilliant coffee table!!
simple and elegant, well done Laura.
Love the smile at the end. Great job! Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Argentina :)
So simple and yet SO effective 10/10.
I love watching you work. It reminds me that my "perfect" workspace just needs a place for everything, and space for whatever project has my attention at the moment (and some back-burner spots too) Nice little clamp cups as well! I always lose the ones that come with them.

I have been working on and in Verizon’s shops for the last 12 years. That stuff just takes time. Don‘t worry :)
Sehr schöner Tisch! Danke schön!!!
I love everything about this video. Awesome work.
Beautiful table! Great for camping.
That was AMAZING to watch!!!

Absolutely beautiful Laura, it’s a lovely design and well crafted, you are a fabulous inspiration to all, well done!
Love the clean design. Looks a little small for the sofa but very convenient.
That was Beautiful !! The subtle practicality and simple design is just so soothing. Thank you !
Great little design Laura. I particularly like the magnets.
Looks so clean and the square in a circle is so satisfying somehow!!!
Love the simplicity in design, yet so functional and beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
