apparently carbon fiber mods make a difference too changing the weight of the car, doesn't make as much of a difference than spoilers tho. would be interesting to see if it was more noticeable if you could program an entire carbon fiber body tho, if that would even work

I think the upside down portion of the challenge being coded as having inverse gravity was responsible for the flying car glitch
