Just wanted to comment on the Witch Bottles. That's not quite accurate. Witches Bottles were made to ward off and protect from magic. Witches would make them in various ways but they always contained a bodily material of those you want protected (usually anyone in the house) that way the dark magic would be attracted to the bottle because of the biological materials. They were placed in areas where magic would enter the home, such as front doors, windows, and chimneys that way when the magic sought to enter the home, the first contact t would be near the bottle, which would then attract the negative magic and trap it inside the bottle.
