Man, why are all the deer with really weird and/or impressive antlers extinct? I mean, look at the Eucladoceros or Irish Elk? Those look like something a fairy princess would be riding around on. You'd see something like that wandering about and assume you've run into the local forest deity.

I mean, if i had to guess the antlers were just too big for deer's/elk's skull itself. I can imagine the tantrums they might had suffered by their own weight.

Tour guide here at a college in Ireland, we have a skeleton of both a male and female at our museum building. The antlers on a Great Irish Deer were 12ft from tip to tip, but they weighed about 40kg or 90lbs.
      Two issues with them:
Humans are excellent persistence hunters as we're some of the best long distance land runners, if not the best. To get away from them, you put obstacles between you and them, like running through a forest. Antlers that big will get tangled in a forest, so their escape options were limited.
Also, as I said, these antlers were heavy and antlers break more often than you'd think, that means a lot of weight on one side if one of those antlers snap, and being that big, they're more likely to, becomes difficult to balance. In fact, if those antlers break suddenly enough, that is enough force and leverage to break the deer's neck.
Antlers eventually become infeasible when they're that big.
