What would that prove? The first 2 units on teams play with little to no effort now, Its gotten so bad, that they were thinking of doing away with the preseason. When I watch a QB, I look for 3 things: Command of the OFFENSE and HUDDLE, can he get in and out, and get guys in the right spots. His DECISION MAKING, is he making the RIGHT READS and THROWS, How he handles ADVERSITY. How does he respond when things get tough, negative plays, DROPS, SACKS, PENALTIES, Can he stay the course and rally the troops. Im actually more impressed with how he does vs 3rd and the few fringe 2nd team guys that will play the most, Those are the guys fighting for jobs

It's the "pit in stomach feeling" when Brady is on and just making passes on the right spot. Brady started low on the totem pole too. Nobody saw him coming.

I loved D.T.R. coming into the Draft. I had him tied at 5th with Hendon Hooker *Among Rookie QB's* I like the Russell Wilson comparison, but he reminds me more of Vince Young *Very similar in size/speed* and they both possess an effortless sense of electricity that rubs off on the guys around them. Hes gonna be a great qb2 after this year. However no If watson puts up similar or even slightly below his previous seasons stats he'll be the QB for the next 10 years.
That play where DTR put on a filthy block to help the Browns score a touchdown showed me that he wants to be an NFL calibre player whatever it takes so I would not be surprised if your prediction comes true earlier than you imagine (if the Browns don't pull a Browns and cut/trade him and then he becomes a star some place else)

In 2-3 years it won't be that much money to trade for a QB with a $40 mil per year contract. Even in the past 18 months Watson's contract has slipped out of the top 5 in terms of $ per year

The Browns gave up too much money and picks to just give up on Watson. However, DTR was playing against the NY Generals. Now what if DTR is named team captain right away … ?
It won't be about giving up on Watson, its about them getting to a point where they realize they screwed up, Its Super Bowl or BUST with Watson, that's why you make the deal. They didn't pay him all this money and give up all those assets, and HOPE to make the Playoffs. People need to STOP with the NONSENSE about WHO a guy is playing against. With the REDUCTION in Preseason Games, the OPPORTUNITIES are limited, Every team seems to approach the preseason differently, as they do with Training Camp. The guys he played against are those ACTUALLY FIGHTING for ROSTER SPOTS, They are the ones truly COMPETING. Most teams don't even play starters or key backs, out of fear of injury risk, Makes no sense to me. All I heard last season on behalf of Watson, and Stefanski, were EXCUSES. That's no longer accepted. They FAIL this season, it gets even more difficult next season. Watson's CAP HIT goes up to $65 MIL. The roster will have to look significantly different. They won't be able to pay guys. Im wondering how long before Watson QUITS on CLE.

@@kimyona9746 Goff was the fall guy with the LAR, they had to blame someone, 42-27 with the LAR 2-3 in the Playoffs with a SB loss to NE 13-3. That was 3-3 game midway through the 4th Q. The LAR just couldnt run the ball, and penalties killed them. It was a conservative game plan too, DET is a good place for him, they just need to add some more weapons around him They should compete for a Playoff spot, No need to rush Hooker.
I watched DTR play some in college and always thought he had "it." Even though I didn't watch the HOF game, I am NOT surprised and can see him getting plenty of buzz. Watson is a bum and a POS, too. Let's not ever forget that.
