  • Hello gardening friends, today I tackle the rock wall terrace in my back garden. The summer has been hot and dry with very little rain, and the garden is in desperate need of a cut back and tidy up. There is something about cutting everything back and adding a fresh layer of compost to make the garden look fresh again, even in high summer! Thank you for joining me in the garden, please be sure to like this video and subscribe! x Samantha

I had a weird July and also havent gotten the chamce to sow annuals this year (big exam in the summer) so my Garden looks boring, weedy and not motivating right now.but I plan to buy some cheap flowers to motivate me reviving IT, because gardening is such a fulfilling experience!

I noticed on several of your videos you mentioned the deer eating your plants. Have you tried a battery operated electric deer fence device? I have seen this on some other you tubers channels. They look like sticks that zap the deer when they smell the device thinking its a flower. May be worth looking into it

You should interplanet your steep slope of Lavender with oregano. Oregano makes a great ground cover, grows quickly, is not a fussy plant, it will have the same needs as your Lavender (very low maintenance), has lovely flowers, is pollinator friendly, is DEER RESISTANT, and a plus is, it is also useful in the kitchen as well as being medicinal. That's a win, win, win combination!

Glad I found your channel. As a fellow eastern Washingtonian Gardner, also zone 6b, I’m looking not only for new inspiration but also one who deals with the environmental challenges that the Columbia plateau and our crazy seasonal weather patterns bring. I’ll be binge watching

I can imagine it! Also something the deer won't eat, which is always the dream.

We had a wonderful thunderstorm and 2 inches of rain last night here in Kansas. We needed it desperately! Some area ponds were nearly dry. I've decided that I need a lot more lavender here too. It is so tough and can handle the heat and lack of rain. I love the terraces in your garden- here in Kansas my garden is flat.

Thank you so much! Oh wow! I love summer storms. We had a thunderstorm and a sprinkle, but no real rain, hopefully we get some downpours soon! Agreed with the lavender, it is such a low maintenance garden hero.

How is your Erigerone Pink Profusion Daisy doing ? I can’t find them anywhere in SO. Oregon . Do you know how to start them from seed ?

I had more than half die through the winter, so not fully hardy for my zone 6b garden. I’ve not grown it from seed but have read it’s fairly easy.
