ប្រវត្តិព្រះអាទិត្យ (សូរ្យទេព) ៖ The Sun God (Surya Dev)

“ព្រះអាទិត្យ” ឬ«សូរ្យទេព»(सूर्यदेव) ទ្រង់គឺជាអាទិទេពនៃពន្លឺរស្មី និងកម្តៅ, ទ្រង់ជាអ្នកកម្ចាត់បង់នូវភាពងងឹត និងជាប្រភពនៃសព្វជីវិតមនុស្ស សត្វ រុក្ខជាតិ នៅលើភពផែនដីនេះ, បើគ្មានព្រះអាទិត្យ ពិភពលោកនឹងគ្របដណ្តប់ដោយផ្ទាំងទឹកកក។«ព្រះអាទិត្យ»ទ្រង់មានព្រះនាមជាច្រើនទៀតដូចជា៖ «រវិ», «ទិវាករ», «ទិនករ», «ភាស្ករ», «ប្រភាករ», «សហស្រកិរណៈ», «សវិត្រឹ», «ភានុ», «ហិរណ្យគភ៌», «វិវស្វាន» «គភស្តិមាន», «វិកត៌្តនៈ», «គ្រហរាជ» , «លោកចក្សុ», «កម្មសាក្សី», «មាត៌ណ្ឌៈ», «សូរ្យនារាយណ៍» «សុចិ» និង«ត្រិលោកេស»ជាដើម។
«ព្រះអាទិត្យ» ទ្រង់មានព្រះវរកាយចែងចាំងដោយពន្លឺ ទ្រង់អម្ពរពស្ត្រាពណ៌លឿង និងទ្រង់គ្រឿងអភរណៈប្រដាប់ដោយអញ្ញមណី, ទ្រង់មានព្រះហស្ត ២ ឬ ៤, ដោយក្នុងព្រះហស្តនីមួយៗ ពេលខ្លះទ្រង់កេតនភ័ណ្ឌ និងអាវុធដូចជា៖ ផ្កាឈូក, ខ្យងស័ង្ខ, គទាវុធ, និងកងចក្រ ដូចព្រះវិស្ណុដែរ។ ហើយទ្រង់តែងតែគង់នៅលើរាជរថទឹមដោយសេះ ៧ ក្បាល និងមានព្រះ«អរុណ»ជារាជសារថី, សេះទាំង ៧ ក្បាលនេះ មានឈ្មោះដូចជា ទី១.«គាយត្រី»(गायत्री), ទី២.«ភ្រាតិ»(भ्राति), ទី៣.«ឧស្និក»(उष्निक), ទី៤.«ជគតី»(जगती), ទី៥.«ត្រិស្តប»(त्रिस्तप), ទី៦.«អនុស្តប»(अनुस्तप), និងទី៧.«បំក្តិ»(पंक्ति), តំណាងឱ្យពណ៌ទាំង ៧ នៅក្នុងរស្មីព្រះអាទិត្យ ឬពេលខ្លះថាតំណាងឱ្យ«ចក្រៈទាំង៧»នៅក្នុងខ្លួនមនុស្ស និងពេលខ្លះទៀតថាតំណាងឱ្យថ្ងៃទាំង៧នៅក្នុងសប្តាហ៍។
