    Hey Lily! I loved the podcast episode with Zoe, I really hope there'll be a second season ! I would love it if you could give some advice on how to stay close to your best friends you had for years and years, even if both of you are making new friends, are moving to different places etc. I admire you and your friends a lot for maintaining your relationship since primary school!
    Lots of love from Germany! xx

    Q&A - if you are the person who is making the effort to always connect with a friend, at what point do you stop trying and see if that friend will make time to see or contact you? Are they really a friend if this is the case? Is it ok to stop trying to connect if you feel it's one sided?

    How to cope when you realise you and a friend no longer have anything in common and you feel like you want to cut ties as it's just not working for you anymore. Like the friendship doesn't have anything holding it together. I'm in my early 30s so long term friendships tire out if that makes sense

    Q&A: what do you think is the best way of making new friends? I'm 28 and don't have a best girl mate or group of mates, I have friends but they are scattered across the world and sometimes I feel so lonely. I'm quite shy which makes it harder but I'm never sure how to pluck up the courage to try and make new friends at my age...

      Emily Reynolds i feel the exact same! I don't have a friendship group or a girl best friend. I have my boyfriend who i see all the time when we're not working and he's amazing and my best friend for sure but its not the same as having girl-friends really. I have a few people at work who are my "friends" but they have actual friendship groups outside of work and don't really have time to do anything outside of work as just friends and not a "work night out".

      Same for me since moving to London 4 years ago just turning 30. It's SO hard to make proper friends here, especially girl friends. I met some great girls who where internationals too in the first year but they've all left already, and locals past student age seem pretty set in their established circles. I'm pretty certain I will move back to Europe soon, and one of the main reasons really is missing my friends!

    How do you think friendships change as you grow up? What do you look for in a friend? Do you believe some friendships are temporary? How do you deal with it when a friendship ends (if you had one that did)? Sorry that was a few questions, but you can pick and choose if you decide to answer any

    Hi Lily, thank you for letting us asking you questions for your Q&A on friendship. I don't normally comment, but I really admire how you have kept the same friends since you were little, and because that happened to me as well, I would like to ask you how you manage your long distance friendship with Keisha and how it changed since she moved; my best friend moved about six months ago and we are making all the effort (phone, skype,..) to keep that closeness, but sometimes with work and life in general it's hard and we are both afraid to lose the bond we have created in 15 years. I appreciate your help very very much, and thank you for your vlogs, they are my favourite videos to watch! :)

    I have commented before on the same thing, but I hope that for season 2 you include people from more diverse backgrounds, and perhaps some men too (I understand it was a new podcast and it probably wasn't easy getting guests). Season one was all white women, many industry leaders who most likely came from middle-class backgrounds, which I understand is what the commercial beauty industry is mostly made up of and beauty is an area of interest for us listeners. I hope this doesn't come across in a bad way, it is merely a suggestion for season 2.

      Oh, I love this suggestion. There are some fabulous women of color in the UK beauty industry that it probably wouldn't be terribly difficult. (Pat McGrath and Florence Adepoju come to mind immediately.) The trick is making sure to ask questions that aren't just about being a WOC in the industry.
      Economic, gender diversity... career diversity, etc. So many ways to branch out.

    Here's my question :)
    I've been with my bf for almost 4 years now and we've tried quite a few times to have get-togethers with all the friends, my friends and his friends and mutual friends... but they will never mix! (and it's not there are a lot of people in the first place, usually about 8-10, so it does feel a little bit awkward...) It usually ends up where they split into their own groups and never talk to each other. And of course, my mind does tend to see this as a bad thing, that they will never get along, that it's going to be like this at our small wedding, etc, etc... So here is my question, how have you gotten your friends to get along and just have fun together? What was it like at your wedding?

    • @nicolechappers25
      @nicolechappers25 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Emilie Bouchard perhaps you could have a couple of friends from each group at a time instead of everyone at once. It might help people open up more in a smaller group, I know that would make me feel more at ease. Big groups (8-10 is biggish) are quite intimidating to me!

    • @emiliebouchard5594
      @emiliebouchard5594 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you :)
      I was thinking of trying out a small girl's night and just have two or three or them over. The boys on the other hand are a bit of a different can of worms. My bf's friends are a little more boisterous and crude jokes types while my guy friends tend to be more of the calm, board games type of people (if I had to really put this label on all of them ...). So, not sure for that side :P

  • @elieska
    @elieska 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would love a Q&A about friendship, so I just paused to write down my question: Do you find it hard sometimes to 'invest' in friendships and do you have tips on how to invest in friendships in a 'natural/not forced' way?
    (I have just finished my first year at uni and friendship wise this year felt all about changing friendships because friends (from high school) moved to different cities to study over there. And about dealing with friendships that got less, I found it tough to figure out the fine line between letting go a friendship because it isn't working anymore and working hard for it to see how it might still work but in a different way than before)

    I really have enjoyed listening to your podcast with Anna, definitely cheers up my Wednesday! I have a suggestion if you do a second series.. It would be great if you could do a 'At Home With .. Friends' episode - other youtubers you know well or even your friends / work colleagues to get to know them more. The podcast with Zoe felt so natural and I think was one of my favourites, which maybe was because you knew her better than your other guests and felt more comfortable. Having said that it's been so interesting to hear all about the other inspirational women you've interviewed so I hope you don't take my suggestion as negative criticism. Love your channel as always :)

    For Q&A: How do you maintain long-distance friendships? For example, Keisha and yourself and/ or other friends. I think this would apply more to/ is important for your age 18+ viewers, given at that age everyone is moving apart and starting new adventures for themselves :)

    Q&A question: How do you navigate your way through a friend break up? Gosh that sounds lame but I mean when you know a friendship just isn't right for either of you how do you end/let go of it? 😊

    Q&A: How do you handle friendships ending? Not like massive fights that ruin friendships but kind of growing apart? I find growing apart from a friend to be harder than some type of massive blowout...I just graduated from college and find myself growing distant from friends and I don't hate it because we are moving into different phases of life but do you confront the fact that you're growing distant or let it just happen? oxoxoxo you got me through college LP! Keep on doing you!

    For Q and A: when I meet new people, often the first question asked is about what I do for work. I am terrible at small talk and breaking the ice. What other questions do you suggest?

    OMGsh, Lily, I think you're the first to realize this about Q&A's...maybe a bit dramatic, but TH-camrs are the ones consuming Q&A's (assuming they're posted here) and I'm sure your TH-cam-only fam would love to contribute! So smart! Also, I've noticed your travel-induced motion sickness. Personally, I have motion sickness and vertigo, but I loved riding in a hot air balloon because it was so peaceful. I wonder how take off and landing will affect you--they were a tad dicey for me, but well worth the few moments of discomfort. Bon voyage!

    Hey Lily! Great vlog as always :) So, here's my question for you upcoming Q&A: How do you make new friends as an adult, especially when working for yourself? I'd really appreciate your perspective on this as it's something I struggle with quite a lot myself. Have a lovely weekend! x

    Hi Lily! Great vlog, my question re: friendship is did you find it hard when leaving for uni/different school or college knowing that you wouldn't see your friends every day or week? Or have you found it that it has made your friendships stronger? Have a good week. xx

    For the Q&A on friendship: Do you have any advice for how to maintain close friendships when everyone is so busy with their own lives, possibly living in different cities? I'm 22 and I've noticed recently my friends and I are all starting new and different things, it's great but I find it difficult to keep up sometimes. Love your channel and the podcast, keep up the great work!

    So excited you ended with a friend as well as a fellow TH-camr! Always love seeing your vlogs pop up in my sub box and this one was no exception.
    For the Q&A: how do you deal with maintaining friendships and making plans when everyone is so busy with individual lives/work/significant others/etc? I usually find I'm so tired after work that making plans feels stressful and/or limiting sometimes. Also, what are some tips on starting friend traditions like New Year's Eve or secret santa pub nights?
