Thank you so much dear "Netherlands Bach Society" for this beautiful gift. The music of Bach is simply extraordinary, the venue looks like a dream, and Christine's performance is always fantastic.
Not gonna claim that the musician or this performance in particular caused it (its obviously magnificent), but as soon as the fugue started this really went straight to my heart, maybe amongst the most emotional fugues by Bach, just what a beauty, my God
My favorite prelude. I feel like this one is special. Bach repeats the theme three times verbatim. Which is very rare. I don't think there's another prelude where this happens. Brilliant playing and interpretation. Thanks NBS.
So beautiful and heart-warming, thank you!!! This is the harpsichord performance from the top shelf, with plasticity, dynamics and sensitivity, so hard to achieve on the harpsichord, only the best of the best do. Bravo!
How beautiful is the music, the performance, the harpsichord---I only wish I one day had the mastery which Christine displays here. Thank you Christine, and thank you NBS! I cannot wait one day to learn this fugue.
I adore these interpretations. To me the Germans are the masters of using music to express the unspeakable, in composition and execution both. What they lack in humour is balanced by an unmatched fluency in artistic and musical language. And Bach’s genius is unthinkable.
When I read in the introduction: "is written in F-sharp minor, a key associated in Bach’s time with nostalgic melancholy" I found the key to this music. Wonderful played, Christine Schornsheim.
Where this building is? Looks so beautiful & Baroqueful. And here I hear the heavy buzzing sound of the string of the harpsichord. Is very unpleasant to my ear. Is it placing the microphone too close to the string in the sound chamber?
This is what a harpsichord sounds like when you are playing it (albeit in a controlled environment), which I believe is what was intended for this recording.
0:07 Prelude
2:50 Fuga
I can listen to Christine Schornsheim all day. She plays beautifully.
What a beautiful Harpsichord and outstanding performance. Always thanks Bach society

Bach for sure knew his music theory, and what makes music tug at the heartstrings.
This music makes my heart warm and wide.
Thank you Christine Schornsheim
Was für ein wundervolles Instrument
und was für ein wundervolles Spiel!

No.12 book 1, all the invention préludes like no.13 b.1, 24 b.2?

I love the clarity of the trills in the fugue, and I especially like the added mordents to the 2nd subject - 4:10

Es increíble como la música, y también el instrumento, se combina y complementa con el escenario. Qué hermoso salón.
FANTASTIC what an extraordinary sound
Thank you for sharing beauty

Outstanding performance!! I would like to know what type of tablet/iPad she uses to read the sheet music...
The iPad pro makes this video way cooler.
