Love it. Good to see Joey. Drinking a cold beer watching. Been to the Bob twice each trip over 50 miles, can’t wait return. There should always be cold beer in the truck🍺👍
What a way to start my work day, the Zen of the mountains! lol Give me a wet, sloppy trail any day versus dry pavement! Beer waiting in the truck, perfect way to end a wonderful trip, thanks for sharing. :) :)
That was an amazing spot! From camp we could see the hill where all of the elk were as we were hiking down. Made me wish I had a spotting scope to see what else was wandering up there!
Awesome video. Rain or shine, you always have really good stuff. And any time where you link up with people from other channels, I”m always glad to see other videos from the same trip. Still recovering from a mild surgery, but looking forward to getting out myself. The NE Olympics are looking pretty snow-free. In the mean time, thanks for the vicarious adventures!
I wish I would've got more shots of the trail... but every time I hit the bad spots I had to focus on staying on my feet! (I did go down once, but turns out the that the mud makes for a soft landing). I'm looking forward to @NorthwestWanderer videos. They are out so often that I'm not sure when he'll get to this one. Joey on the other hand, didn't have a camera so there will not be a video from him for this trip. There are rumors that Joey will be releasing videos again at some point, but he disappeared into the Rockies as soon as we said goodbye. Hope you're healing up well!
You are a hearty soul Travis. Looked like a tough slog. I expect the weather up there will improve as the summer progresses. Still at the end the weather improved and the vistas were beautiful. Nice to see Joey. Thanks for sharing.
Well, I'll just put it here under this video.... Wanted to let ya know that I ended up hiking the Trout Creek NRT loop last week. I'm pretty sure I would not have ever gotten around to doing that one if not for seeing your videos from there. It was pretty nice- 2 nights camping up along the top of that divide, awesome views and no rain. Also had a little bear walk right into my camp! Trails need a little maintenance now in the upper portions. Anyways, thank you for the inspiration!!
Yeah, it didn't seem like anyone had hiked the loop this year, though I did run into a hunter up by the lake that had motorcycled up from Lost Creek. We were both pretty surprised to see each other. Didn't see anyone else or any human tracks. No snow on the trail getting up to or down from the divide. Just enough snow left for water at high camp on top of the ridge next to Lost Peak and again on a little grassy knob near the junction with East Fork. Glad I didn't camp right at the lake, the symphony of frogs was pretty loud even from up above! and the 360 views were great! About a half mile of big snow drifts along the ridge about midway through, but very consolidated and easy travel. The summit of Black Peak is pretty cool, too, and worth a little extra effort, but that road in from the Montana side was a bit worse than I expected! All in all, it was a very fun and pleasant hike in the mountains! Happy to be able to relate to someone else who's been there too!
Another fantastic video! So much green! Excellent job with the filming, editing, use of music, map animations, and an extra special shout out to ya for your narration skills! Yes, The Bob is a wonderful place, and I'm excited to keep up with the rest of your adventures this summer!
Thank you very much! This was one of the only trips that I had on the calendar just because when Joey says he can go, you better make it happen since I'm not sure when I'll hear from him again. I do know one thing though... the Bitterroots are next! Thanks for watching!
@Mountain Wanderer yeah insaw my first ever Sow Grizz and cub up by Ozette lake trail head. They scampered across the road as I was coming around the corner and jumped over the side. BEAUTIFUL creatures when you are in the safety of a vehicle.
Great job on this vid Travis! Your editing and narration really make it look like a fun trip, despite the awful conditions. I came really close to running into you all; had plans to packraft the NF Sun that same weekend, but bailed due to the water being too high. Hope our paths cross sometime in the near future!
Dan! You're on here now, too - excelente!! Now we got Dan, Travis, Joey, and yes - you too Northwest Wanderer and Lacey, as all of my favorite youtuber hikers! Thanks everybody! There is another extremely good one out there I have to recommend as well that I hope you are able to check out- Jamal Green from Across Utah! Super f'n good!! Can't miss it!
@@fredmcdonald5067 Thanks Fred, that's very kind and I'll definitely check out Jamal. I've been studying the vids of Travis and Joey from day one, trying to learn and copy their techniques!
Am I crazy or is Joey’s channel gone? I cannot find it. There’s a video of his that i watch all the time where he backpacks the Gila wilderness. The Gila is my favorite place but I can’t go there anymore after I had a debilitating heart attack. I’m so sad it’s gone. If you have any way of contacting Joey please let him know we miss him on TH-cam

It was great to finally get to hike with those guys! I've been a fan of their videos for a while. Hopefully it won't be the lat time I get to hike with them this year!
Looks like a fun time despite the conditions! I’ve been heading out to WY for 5 summers now but this year I am expanding to backpacking MT & ID as well for close to 4 months. Usually I just bring a tent out west but prefer a hammock and it seems that you are always able to find a place to hang. Good inspiration to see if I can fit my hammock & UQ in the truck to drive out!
Right on! Joey mentioned that you and he might get together for a trip. There are usually spot to hang, but not always. Have a great summer, maybe we'll bump into each other out there!
Totally enjoyed another of your Bob Marshall excursions! Hate the rain for your trek but glad to see the moisture that'll maybe keep the fire danger low all summer.
Wow, great to see Joey with you. Joey is actually the first backpacker I followed. You look great Joey! Planning on my first backpacking iin Colorado this summer. Thanks for inspiring!

@@mountainwanderer Set up basecamp and then day 2 headed out with full pack to do a little section of AT. Had some back issues, new pack...still dialing it in, so I made a big 8 mile loop and ended up back at camp. Steak and eggs and a cold plunge in the creek, felt great after. Great to be out no matter what!
Yeah buddy! Looks like things are ready to go! You had some wet weather. I have always wanted to visit the Bob so this was nice to get to see it. Some long days on trail too.
