Medal of Honor Frontline was one of my first military style games and I truly miss it. Stepping onto Normandy beach was such a crazy opening to a game, and despite the graphical improvement of Call of Duty WW2, MoH Frontline put the dread and doom into that scene. I think it was mostly the music that created the atmosphere needed to convey the terror of war. Rising Sun did great with Pearl Harbor as well.
For me it was MGS2, that game alone made me go out and buy a PS2. The graphics, the music, the cinematics, the voice acting, the crazy storyline.......just wasn't anything like it at the time. The first MGS on PS1 was epic, and don't get me wrong, it pushed that console to its very limits. I couldn't see how they could top it, but they sure as shit did. One of the few games I've played through more than 3 times, think I'm at playthrough #7 ? It's one of those console defining games that you think back on 15, 20 years down the road, when you hear the name of a console mentioned it's the first game thay comes to mind for me

This game was so well made for its time. I absolutely love it. Especially the mission at Helms deep. It really felt like you were part of the battle. I bet this game was part inspiration for Shadow of War/Mordor. The only downside was that the main reward/unlockable character here was Isildur. I'm pretty sure even now no one ever had any interest in playing as Isildur. Even if his character was strong I personally hoped we could play as Boromir or Gandalf.
I would argue that Kingdom Hearts 2 is the greatest but Return of the King is pretty damn good. Especially the battle for Gondor where Gandalf has to run through the city destroying siege towers & hitting Nazgul with catapults. The Battle at the Gates of Mordor was a fantastic last stand as well.
The Return of the King, The Two Towers, Kingdom Hearts 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Ratchet and Clank 3, Rayman 2, Rayman 3, Sly 2... So many great games made.

When I was younger and played the first level, I thought they were Gondorians and were using 'older' armour. Now, after many more years and a much wider knowledge, I now know they're actually Númenóreans and from the Kingdom of Arnor.
Oh... I remember. On normal you can just spam the fast fast fierce combo and win almost every fight... not this one. One mistake and you're gonna have a bad time. On hard... this was just hell.

Those Saruman extra mission were so hard. I remember that I just cheesed defensive executions on all of the melee enemies, just too barely have enough health for the trolls. It also took me MONTHS to understand that there were audio queue to beat the last Helms Deep mission. I was like fighting in the keep 20 minutes straight not getting why nothing was happening, and thought that you were supposed to fight till the dawn.
There was a video game shop in my area where you pay 10 rupees to play games for 30 minutes... I stand outside that shop for hours and watch other kids play...this game was newly launched . Graphic was so phenomenal for its time.. I watch this game with awe... Really wanted to play it for once but it was just a dream for me.. We were dirt poor.. . I knew i can't afford it.. Today i achieved many things in life... But i think today even if I play best game ever created i won't get that pleasure n excitement which i would get with this game as a child...
I loved this game, it was also one of the few games my grandma would let me play on the big TV because she liked watching me play it. I also remember at the time I was blown away by the real footage turning into the game, looks awful now but at the time I was like "Woah"

31:59 never get tired of that Amon Hen/Isenguard theme song from the movies . Just keep headbanging . Its so intense . Howard Shore is a freaking genius . One of the best movie scores of all time . Him and John Williams are like on the same rank in my opinion . No one else can dominate movie scores like those 2 people .

Ahh, all my sweet childhood memories passed through my eyes. I had a badly fever when I was going to primary school and I played Two Towers on my Ps2 for weeks and Since I didn't have a memory card, I never had a chance to finish the game... I miss being a child :'(
