Just got this figure and just found your channel. Gonna be honest, that figure teardown you did and displayed is super helpful! It's good to know what parts to be gentle with and what parts you can be confident in when posing. I've just semi-recently started getting into more imported figures, i.e. Snail Shell and HASUKI, and am looking forward to both more NIKKE releases (big fan of the game myself) as well as newer figures from these companies. And I am very much going to be following your channel for more!!!

They probably didn't intend for the neck/head to be detached. Weak excuse though as the weapon is still fragile and they should know that besides collecting, people like to actually play around with or kitbash things too.

It is so odd to me that Hyper X Body started out as figure with model kit parts but then straight just become Snail Shell esque figures. Anyway, she looks pretty good aside from the face not completely looking game accurate but still recognisable as Modernia/Marian. I expected her to be fragile though but whatever. As a Modernia main, I'll likely get her.
Seems Chinese companies like to try new things, like Cang Toys making waifu figures now. Which is a good thing, variety is always welcome. It's good the fragility hasn't deterred you, I still think she's a great figure.

I'm so happy that Good Smile Company makes Nikke action figures. but,she actually got a QC issue where her neck broke easily (lore accurate Nikke heretic(?)). After all, the Hyper body line is said to be similar to mocins in build quality, engineering and structure, GSC Shanghai branch has set a price of 15,000¥ for this figure. It's better to wait for the snail shell version. More pessimistic about the Red Hood figure.
I thought that, too. Would prefer if it was easier to reattach the heretic head properly 🙃 I'm actually optimistic about Red Hood. They have a year to work on QC, neck should be more sturdy as there's a torso swap (they probably didn't intend on people pulling Modernia’s head off), weapon is more straightforward.

Articulated figures with high price tags should be using alloy joints on risky parts tbh. Edit: my bootleg Falslander Ronin's joints are still sturdy as hell even tho the knees became so loose now (can't even stand without a stand base).
Definitely not the strongest joints here. My fake Ronin is also pretty solid besides the waist and hips. Knees are fine. Her strap things help with balance too.
dunno what is up w/ famous brand figure and QC problem, recently shf and even premium items got this problem. Fragile parts, paint mishap, etc. Just like you said, if they gonna charge that much for a figure nowadays...this shouldnt happen.
I think QC issues can always happen, but there's not really any excuse making stuff so fragile for an articulated figure. Especially the neck, never seen a peg that small. And of course considering the price.
Despite everyone saying this figure is bad. To me she still a good as the hyperbody is still starting up. Don't forget . This is 2nd release item for hyperbody. I think it's the third, another was released a bit earlier but the point still stands, they need more experience. I also think they'll improve in future, and hopefully with Red Hood. @NoGoodFigures well I understand most ppl buy action figure is to kit bash and modification to make another character. For me, I buying for that character itself. So I seldom have issue with changing head issue. Regarding price point , yes I agree is was little too expensive than average figma and qc to consider . But interm articulation and less body part swapping make me think it made up for it . Afterall this is just 2nd huperbody release I still close 1 eye to forgive. I had order hyperbody red hood and hyperbody rikka gridman. I do hope they improve on this. I do read comment alot of saying cancel order or wait price plum . I would say these mentality is getting why high price action figure. You see figma now no longer mass produce. They are now made to order. It indirectly costs 2nd hand spike up price. If you collecting series even worst. The least favourite character often become most expensive as no demand to reissue (like figma p5 fox, panther). Often time user won't feel it now. It take like 2 year to feel it when you sudden feel wan to collect whole series and find out the price is insane. I been tokyo annually, also notice figma shelf getting less and price getting insane for 2nd market. Back before covid figma used to be common sight now is rare sight. I believe you notice it too when you visit tokyo
It's probably 50/50 for collecting and leaving as is vs kitbashing (also depends on how far into the hobby one has gotten). I usually leave my figures as is, but since I make videos, I'm also curious and would like to show off all of what the figure has to offer. I'm probably skipping Rikka, but she does look good. I think Red Hood will be an improvement, given they have a year, she's a bit more simple, and she's actually meant to have a removable head. Also agree with your points regarding price. I think it's better to grab first and decide whether you want it later (depending on finances, of course). Definitely noticed the prices in Tokyo, especially last trip. It wasn't even as bad at the start of 2024.
@NoGoodFigures I am going tokyo /osaka this apr and July. Hope the price is slightly cheaper when I at there. For hyperbody rikka was misbag as I do collect gridmen. I worry down the road if I don't order her and akane ver come out . Her price spike up like figma do. That why taking a risk. If there there is no akane hyperbody. I might let go and sell 2nd hand. Only time knows. I guess both of us need wait Feb announce good updates.

Yeah, the first (few?) was a finished figure + model kit accessories. There's a couple other ones in the works, I think. All seem pretty cool besides potential QC issues.
I think i preordered one version of her, it has a white shirt and that is it. i feel more comfortable with less accessories. lol! I do like them, but they can become a bother. When you have problems attaching or detaching parts from figures do you give them a hot bath before? i learned that trick from Moon and it works so well.
That'd be the Snail Shell one, looking forward to her! I usually give a firm but gentle pull, but if it feels uncomfortable, I heat it with a hair dryer. Usually does the trick 👍
@@NoGoodFigures I no longer use force, i killed Mikuru a few years ago, I snapped her neck! thankfully thanks to. Moon i learned how to fix that! all i know i kind of owe it to him, lol! ues hair dryer is good too, i huess, i go for water because i am always drinking tea or coffee so i always have hot water at hand.
Oh!, but the cosmetic surgeries were my own skill! lol! The glue drop and neck reduction were not learned from Moon, or anyone else! Those derived from my mechanic skills fixing broken Transformer toys!
Thought you were gonna say you would dunk it in tea LOL. I have a fair bit of (theory) knowledge from when I binged model kit videos when I first got 30MS Rishetta. Probably forgotten most of them now though.

My Modernia was near perfect. However, I had some QC issues with her lower legs, so I contacted GS and they said they'll send me replacements for her legs

Appreciate that, and good to have you here! I'd say Modernia overall is worth the 15k, and doesn't feel cheap. Just slightly fragile. But they probably didn't intend on the neck/head being pulled off. Red Hood should have less issues as she's actually meant to have her head pulled off for the torso swap and her weapon looks more sturdy. Just be careful when handling her and she should be fine.
It seems decent, but they didn't choose the easiest design for their first figure either. I'm not too surprised there are some issues. I don't play Nikke (yet 😏), but I'm more interested in the next one, the Red Hood girl. I'm looking forward to more action figures from this game. So far, we have Figma, Snail Shell, and Hyper Body making them. Alice is also coming soon. 2025 is going to be a rough year for our wallets 😅. For the review, it would be nice if you could add some dynamic poses with the stand to show the figure's posing capability (like 2-3 poses).
You're right, definitely not the easiest design. Figma made the smart choice of making Alice first, relatively simple. I'm hoping Red Hood turns out well, and Snail Shell Modernia is almost guaranteed to be fantastic (pls no QC 🤞). Even if you don't end up playing, you can still enjoy the designs and figures! Thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep that in mind for sure. My excuse is that half the shots were taken after her neck broke so it was a balancing act, and I still haven't fixed it because I want to see what GSC support says first. ...but I also don't like stands 😂
I went for Snail Shell version wirh her comfy outfit and its way more afforable then this one. Cause it cost $170+ in my country just for one While the Snail Shell version only cost $96+ which I am happy with. Lastlt Snail Shell figurines lately has been really good and afforable. Will you review Snail Shell version in the future so you cpuld compare?
I think they look quite similar, which is good too! I'm really looking forward to Red Hood. Luckily, there are other Nikke figures releasing before her! Will you get the others?
The quality is noticeable lower than usual figma which is shame, the uneven thigh cut especially bugs me, but on the other hand it only cost like 530 RMB compare to, say the latest Kazusa cost about 700+ with bonus, and Scarlet costing almost 800, I would say it is a fair bargain. BTW are you getting the Romankey Gun Girl? I already got mine and it is pretty impressive, but the later batch seems got delayed for QC issues.
Yeah, feels more like a fancy pre-built model kit. I still think she's a good figure and enjoy having her. I'll probably skip on Romankey Gun Girl for now unless I find her cheap or really run out of stuff to buy. Good to hear you're enjoying her though!
The fragility of certain parts in the figure do worry me, especially because the Red Hood one looked pretty good from the pictures. However, it's still a very good looking figure and it's pretty accurate all in all.
Red Hood looks more straightforward and should be more sturdy if they account for the torso swap. Her gun looks more solid too. She should look pretty similar to the promo shots too since I'd say Modernia looks like hers 👍

Hey, on the bright side again she looks good, articulates well and aside from the lacking more options in hands, she has her weapons so yeah. Still laughed about the problems at the start and she falls, almost as if she knows lol. Soild job!

Sadly I think I'll sell mine once she arrives then buy the Hasuki Sister Friede figure I saw on your live stream or something similar. Idk as a Modernia fan I'm still really happy with it. I'll probably stick with this version over the snail shell one tbh just cuz I love her default outfit.
Yeah, she's great even though I need to fix her 😅 I suggest not pulling the head off unless you really need to and being gentle with her + accessories, and she should be fine!
Oh, man, she looks beautiful... But I don't think I can justify that price lol She is almost as expensive as the Link figma that will release next month and that figure is packed with a lot of accessories... Modernia needed at least more hands and maybe an extra face plate. I guess I'll just get the Snail Shell one since it's more affordable.
She does look nice. The Snail Shell one has a more detailed face so I'm really excited for that. I think the price would be justifiable even with slightly more sturdy neck and accessories so you can actually move it around without worrying. That said, still a great figure.
It's surprising that their models are more expensive than other brands. But the quality is risky like Bandai's Metal build. Have you seen Rosado x Hemoxian's lily starflower yet? I think it looks strange with a relatively cheap price.
It's pretty standard Good Smile price (like a figma with lots of accessories). Yeah, I've seen that one. It looks super complicated, plus it's a model kit, which is probably why the price is lower. Interesting though.
These seems to be the succesor of the act mode line which I wasn't really fond off so I'm not trying the hyper body line just yet. Hope they improve in quality however. For now I'm just sticking to snail shell and figma for my humanoid 1/12 figures and maybe cang toys.
That's fair. I've only seen ACT MODE around but haven't looked into them. Modernia’s main figure is fine if you don't pull the head off 5x a day I think 😅 Hasuki is another good choice.

tight cuts look bad in figures like this, yes it's more articulation but you sacrifice part of the sculpt, other than that it looks pretty decent, idk about the price but if it drops I'll consider it
Probably modernia from "snailshell" will be better than this specifically for detail and quality, well yea it's her in first affection version (oversized white shirt) not with mechanical humanoid looks, because so far from their image promotion I saw it has very detailed face and hair, so far I saw snailshell has very good quality for cn manufacturer
Have had no issues with mine so far. Been collecting figmas for a decade now and this is well past the quality of some figures Goodsmile has released in the past. I don’t think a drop would be the end of the world for this figure. The parts seem to me they have more give than they look and feel. Quality control however has never been a strong suit from Goodsmile especially when it comes to paint.
That's good to hear! Yeah, I mean she already fell and was fine (but didn't have her weapons on). If her neck didn't snap I wouldn't have any issues with the figure either. She's still great though. I'm a QC issue magnet it seems, or I move my figures too much for the reviews haha
@NoGoodFigures I know the feeling I do outdoor figure photography and I can’t tell you how many figures I broke or lost pieces too. It’s not just you Goodsmile is really hit or miss with quality control. Even their Freeing 1/4 scale line I find issues.
Thanks for the review, I was thinking of buying it but for that quality it's not worth the price, you saved me from throwing my money away since for that price I'd rather buy the new statue of Formidable in a bikini from Azur Lane. Hyper Boby reminded me of the good smile subline called act mode, I was interested in the symphogear line (an anime that I like a lot), the first figure of the protagonist that they released was the same as modernia, pretty but bad QC and I had to fix it, fortunately the following figures improved in quality.
No worries! I think the figure is still good, and thankfully, the breakages aren't major. Price is still a bit high, though. I only just realised I've seen ACT MODE figures before but never properly looked at them
Im starting to feel worry about the hyper body Red hood, they really should start fixing the qc problem, tbh it's getting annoying to see figures with such high prices get this much Qc issues
I'm hopeful because they have a year to work on their QC, plus a few figures in between. Also, Modernia’s head probably isn't designed to be pulled off, while Red Hood's should be more sturdy due to the torso swap. But yeah, still doesn't excuse the price vs quality issues in this case 😅
As a Nikke user and figure collector, I seriously don't like her face. Of course I like her body quality, but I prefer the Modernia face sculpt from Snailshell.

I think Bike Shiroko will be solid. Design and sculpt isn't anything difficult and they've already made her before technically.

I do read comment alot of saying cancel order or wait price plum . I would say these mentality is getting why high price action figure. You see figma now no longer mass produce. They are now made to order. It indirectly costs 2nd hand spike up price. If you collecting series even worst. The least favourite character often become most expensive as no demand to reissue (like figma p5 fox, panther). Often time user won't feel it now. It take like 2 year to feel it when you sudden feel wan to collect whole series and find out the price is insane.
I been tokyo annually, also notice figma shelf getting less and price getting insane for 2nd market. Back before covid figma used to be common sight now is rare sight. I believe you notice it too when you visit tokyo
It's probably 50/50 for collecting and leaving as is vs kitbashing (also depends on how far into the hobby one has gotten). I usually leave my figures as is, but since I make videos, I'm also curious and would like to show off all of what the figure has to offer.
I'm probably skipping Rikka, but she does look good. I think Red Hood will be an improvement, given they have a year, she's a bit more simple, and she's actually meant to have a removable head.
Also agree with your points regarding price. I think it's better to grab first and decide whether you want it later (depending on finances, of course).
Definitely noticed the prices in Tokyo, especially last trip. It wasn't even as bad at the start of 2024.
@NoGoodFigures I am going tokyo /osaka this apr and July. Hope the price is slightly cheaper when I at there. For hyperbody rikka was misbag as I do collect gridmen. I worry down the road if I don't order her and akane ver come out . Her price spike up like figma do. That why taking a risk. If there there is no akane hyperbody. I might let go and sell 2nd hand. Only time knows. I guess both of us need wait Feb announce good updates.

Yeah, the first (few?) was a finished figure + model kit accessories. There's a couple other ones in the works, I think. All seem pretty cool besides potential QC issues.

I think i preordered one version of her, it has a white shirt and that is it. i feel more comfortable with less accessories. lol! I do like them, but they can become a bother. When you have problems attaching or detaching parts from figures do you give them a hot bath before? i learned that trick from Moon and it works so well.

I usually give a firm but gentle pull, but if it feels uncomfortable, I heat it with a hair dryer. Usually does the trick 👍

Moon i learned how to fix that! all i know i kind of owe it to him, lol! ues hair dryer is good too, i huess, i go for water because i am always drinking tea or coffee so i always have hot water at hand.
Oh!, but the cosmetic surgeries were my own skill! lol! The glue drop and neck reduction were not learned from Moon, or anyone else! Those derived from my mechanic skills fixing broken

My Modernia was near perfect. However, I had some QC issues with her lower legs, so I contacted GS and they said they'll send me replacements for her legs

I'd say Modernia overall is worth the 15k, and doesn't feel cheap. Just slightly fragile. But they probably didn't intend on the neck/head being pulled off.
Red Hood should have less issues as she's actually meant to have her head pulled off for the torso swap and her weapon looks more sturdy. Just be careful when handling her and she should be fine.
It seems decent, but they didn't choose the easiest design for their first figure either. I'm not too surprised there are some issues. I don't play Nikke (yet 😏), but I'm more interested in the next one, the Red Hood girl. I'm looking forward to more action figures from this game. So far, we have Figma, Snail Shell, and Hyper Body making them. Alice is also coming soon. 2025 is going to be a rough year for our wallets 😅.
For the review, it would be nice if you could add some dynamic poses with the stand to show the figure's posing capability (like 2-3 poses).
You're right, definitely not the easiest design. Figma made the smart choice of making Alice first, relatively simple. I'm hoping Red Hood turns out well, and Snail Shell Modernia is almost guaranteed to be fantastic (pls no QC 🤞).
Even if you don't end up playing, you can still enjoy the designs and figures!

The quality is noticeable lower than usual figma which is shame, the uneven thigh cut especially bugs me, but on the other hand it only cost like 530 RMB compare to, say the latest Kazusa cost about 700+ with bonus, and Scarlet costing almost 800, I would say it is a fair bargain. BTW are you getting the Romankey Gun Girl? I already got mine and it is pretty impressive, but the later batch seems got delayed for QC issues.
Yeah, feels more like a fancy pre-built model kit. I still think she's a good figure and enjoy having her.

The fragility of certain parts in the figure do worry me, especially because the Red Hood one looked pretty good from the pictures. However, it's still a very good looking figure and it's pretty accurate all in all.
Red Hood looks more straightforward and should be more sturdy if they account for the torso swap. Her gun looks more solid too.
She should look pretty similar to the promo shots too since I'd say Modernia looks like hers 👍

Hey, on the bright side again she looks good, articulates well and aside from the lacking more options in hands, she has her weapons so yeah. Still laughed about the problems at the start and she falls, almost as if she knows lol. Soild job!

That's fair. It's not unfixable, and she is a good figure, but the price is a bit steep. They also probably didn't expect anyone to pull the head off so many times.
Hasuki stuff should be good (going on a sample size of 1 figure lol). Unlikely that Snail Shell do this outfit but their version should be great anyway!

I think the price would be justifiable even with slightly more sturdy neck and accessories so you can actually move it around without worrying. That said, still a great figure.

It's surprising that their models are more expensive than other brands. But the quality is risky like Bandai's Metal build. Have you seen Rosado x Hemoxian's lily starflower yet? I think it looks strange with a relatively cheap price.

These seems to be the succesor of the act mode line which I wasn't really fond off so I'm not trying the hyper body line just yet. Hope they improve in quality however. For now I'm just sticking to snail shell and figma for my humanoid 1/12 figures and maybe cang toys.

Probably modernia from "snailshell" will be better than this specifically for detail and quality, well yea it's her in first affection version (oversized white shirt) not with mechanical humanoid looks, because so far from their image promotion I saw it has very detailed face and hair, so far I saw snailshell has very good quality for cn manufacturer

Have had no issues with mine so far. Been collecting figmas for a decade now and this is well past the quality of some figures Goodsmile has released in the past. I don’t think a drop would be the end of the world for this figure. The parts seem to me they have more give than they look and feel. Quality control however has never been a strong suit from Goodsmile especially when it comes to paint.
That's good to hear! Yeah, I mean she already fell and was fine (but didn't have her weapons on). If her neck didn't snap I wouldn't have any issues with the figure either. She's still great though.
I'm a QC issue magnet it seems, or I move my figures too much for the reviews haha
@NoGoodFigures I know the feeling I do outdoor figure photography and I can’t tell you how many figures I broke or lost pieces too. It’s not just you Goodsmile is really hit or miss with quality control. Even their Freeing 1/4 scale line I find issues.
I can imagine, especially if you take them out and about. Shame that even big scales can have issues, but it's understandable.

Thanks for the review, I was thinking of buying it but for that quality it's not worth the price, you saved me from throwing my money away since for that price I'd rather buy the new statue of Formidable in a bikini from Azur Lane.
Hyper Boby reminded me of the good smile subline called act mode, I was interested in the symphogear line (an anime that I like a lot), the first figure of the protagonist that they released was the same as modernia, pretty but bad QC and I had to fix it, fortunately the following figures improved in quality.
No worries! I think the figure is still good, and thankfully, the breakages aren't major. Price is still a bit high, though.

I'm hopeful because they have a year to work on their QC, plus a few figures in between. Also, Modernia’s head probably isn't designed to be pulled off, while Red Hood's should be more sturdy due to the torso swap.

As a Nikke user and figure collector, I seriously don't like her face. Of course I like her body quality, but I prefer the Modernia face sculpt from Snailshell.
