I just watched the negative things and now I’m learning about the positives. The resort looks very beautiful with the jungles, landscaping and wildlife and since it’s so big it looks like you got your excersie as you walked to the pools and restaurants. Thanks for posting your thoughts

This resort looked amazing 😍 This is making me so excited to go to Mexico again soon 🇲🇽 It’s so cool how many walking paths, nature, and animals there are. Look at the peacock! Wow, I didn’t realize they were in Mexico. All the pools and the water park looked fab! Great find ☺️

Wow! That place was huge! Loved the pools and that food looked delicious! The adult only areas are key! It’s so cool that the nature is part of the grounds. Seems Like you would never have to leave! Did they have golf carts and transportation offered? Seemed like a cruise on the land!

Really like how big this resort is, it will definitely keep things interesting on your holiday.
We’d also enjoy all the adults only areas!
The water park looks like a lot of fun!
    The entertainment seems really amazing.
So nice that they have bug spray all around 😅
Yay for pool floats 😁 you looked so relaxed on that float ☺️

I think this is a resort we would really enjoy ☺️ we love the larger resorts that really have the jungle feel. The cenotes and walking paths looked soo beautiful here.
The beach area also looked wonderful, and I think it is pretty common for the resorts to have to battle the seaweed throughout the year. Glad to hear the staff were working to stay on top of it!

I'm a fan of the larger resorts too - especially for the variety and amenities. The jungle feel and natural elements was a definite bonus too! Yes - seaweed is often a problem in this area especially during the time we went.

The nature and wildlife running through the resort looks so nice, Craig would absolutely love having those lizards running around, he got so excited when we had a huge Iguana sitting under our car in Florida 😂
The evening entertainment looked pretty fun too, but they amount of cool activities in this resort looks so awesome. Love hearing that the resort is actively taking care of the environment, no straws and no sun cream in the cenotes is great to hear!

Hi! Thank you so much for the wonderfully detailed and objective reviews of the hotel. It is certainly a resort we're considering for April / May 2022 vacation with kids and your review of the grounds really helped as well. However, I'm a bit concerned with the beach even though you mentioned it was one of the things you liked about the resort. I know that seaweed has been an issue overall in this area, but I was wondering specifically about this resort - how would you rate the beach itself notwithstanding the seaweed (that that is a roll of the dice I'm guessing)? Did you feel more could be done to clean up the beach? Also, you mentioned there were some clear areas for swimming? Have you visited other resorts in the area for comparison (specifically considering the beach)? We're considering Riu Yucatan or some other family friendly resorts... Thank you and please continue the great work!

well made video... I think staying adults only or RE is a must for the a la carte restaurant option for breakfast/lunch day. I love chilaquiles, and they are on the menu :)

Great video. I am deciding on this resort. Your video is very informative.
Questions: are there many young adults (aged 19 years range) as I'm planning to go with my son. Any evening activities like pool tables and a club for dancing? Is there a fee to take the river boat? Is the beach too rocky to swim in? I heard you can walk further and find a clearer area.

Oh awesome! I will say that our room was not the greatest (needed an update) and the food was just ok. But the photos and videos I've seen of the food lately look improved compared to when we were there - so it might have been pandemic related. We did! We went to Tulum and it was really good. Booked through Seek n' Go at the resort.

I can see the perpective of this tourist posting this video represent a different time of mine and it looks like some stuff are different in feb 2022 . This hotel is good overall but the rocky beach is not mentionned in this video and you need definitly to have water shoes cause your experience won't be the same.

I love your videos! My fiancé and I are about to spend some time at this resort. Our first ever! How is tipping and do you have any advice on tipping etiquette? US dollars or pesos?

    • @TheAverageTourist
      @TheAverageTourist  ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks so much!! We tipped in USD for everything. For drinks we went up to the bar to order we would do a few dollars here and there throughout the stay - and if we ordered something a bit fancier and got great service we would do more. And when we had service around the pool we would tip the server $1 or 2 for every drink we ordered. For serving staff at the buffets we did a few dollars per meal for the servers that took our drink orders and cleared the plates, and for the a la cartes if we had great service we would do more because it is usually a 3 course meal. We also tipped our cleaning lady for our room well on the second day and a few dollars each day and always had extra towels, toilet paper and kleenex and we left a tip in the mini fridge a few times with a note on what we wanted more of and got our mini frodge restocked well each time. It's totally up to you and your tipping style. And we saw most people tipping in USD.

Thank you! There were actually items on the a la carte menus that indicated gluten free. And the buffet definitely had options too, depending on what you like. If you're not already in the Facebook fan groups for this resort they are a good place to also ask as there were quite a few chat threads about visiting with a gluten allergy. Hope that helps

Hi, in my opinion the resort lacks a few things like better food quality, room amendments and hospitality. For $250+ a night I think you can surly find a better option. The beach has a very rocky shore line not the best for a relaxing swim. Reservation are a pain in the behind for specialty dinner well you have to scan the app wait 24hrs, next day be patient and wait until midnight to check availability for the next day . For other activities you have to wake up early 7:30am to wait in line for activities you can do the next day it’s truly a disappointing experience if you plan to get stuff doing the first day. Pool area was full with critter’s on top of the table inside trash cans. Stealing your food. I gave it to them the snack bar is disappointing. see for yourself but your better of staying at another resort. The check in was slow and employees are not friendly at all.
