Devon is a terrible coach for a beginner like Brian. If you watch their training videos, it’s a lot of Devon giving a stream of positional advice to Brian, and Brian instantly making the adjustments that are asked of him, but there’s very little that he understands well enough to take on board and actually use during the chaos of a live match. I sensed from the beginning that Brian would end up just falling back on his strength and throwing all technique out of the window.
Devon teaches through gypsy rhymes where there’s layers of knowledge and wisdom that you have to peel back before you get to the core of what he’s really saying. For an experienced arm wrestler no doubt Devon can coach you to the next level. His table IQ is legendary and given enough time he can make anyone great. But a couple of long sessions is not the same as consistently training a few times a week with someone like Neil. I agree, for beginners I think he can leave them a bit confused. It’s also very humbling if you grip up with him, he gives you enough rope to think you can pin him, but if you get close he instinctively takes your wrist or stops you in a spot where a typical arm wrestler you’re likely to compete against won’t. He’s also very gifted, Devon’s levers are ridiculous and its not something most people will face and likewise some of his technique and skills are not transferable to ordinary proportioned arm wrestlers, that being said Brian also has ridiculous build and will be competing against other super heavyweights which does offset most of that. I think someone like Todd Hutchins who can show Brian how to use his power would be very useful. I’m not saying Brian should hook. He should definitely top roll, and i know toddzilla is built completely differently, but toddzilla doesn’t over complicate things and at this stage Brian just needs the basics dialled in and he will be a menace for most. Then he can look more at the nuances to get to the next level.

People are talking about Eddie because Eddie trained for this for like 8 weeks compared to Brian training for a year. But I still say that Eddie has done way more arm wrestling then he says. I truely believe he's done it for a long time on and off and Eddie did and does love arm wrestling.
@@reviewforthetube6485 People dont even know Eddie did not start from scratch he has armwrestling experience and trained with Niel a few years ago. He took the match on short notice yes but he has exp with armwrestling.
@@reviewforthetube6485I think so too. Lol. And I think Neil Pickup knows exactly how much training Eddie has done in the past, if you know what I mean
I was way more impressed with brian for several reasons that i commented on. Ya i agree i had doubts in the back of my mind about Brian but im sold hes gonna be everything advertised in about 2 years i believe.
Eddie make it a lot closer than I expected. Either he's a genius at picking up arm wrestling techniques, or he did a lot more practice than everyone realised a few years ago for the RVJ and Lalas matches.
OR he is more flexible and fluid human being. He does and did a lot of other training apart from strongsman and that definitely helped his body dynamics. Even with 160kg he is really fast.
I'm definitely one of the 10% because I have been watching Strong Man since I was a very young kid, and I have followed Brian and Eddie for many years. I know how Eddie locks in and takes on new challenges. I told everyone they were sleeping on Eddie, but I figured Brian would win, but it would be a fight. Remember that Brain met with Devon 2 times for a couple of days. While Eddie met with Neal 2 to 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Eddie had more time with world-class arm wrestlers than Brian.
Brian met with Devon sure. But he obviously didn’t learn anything from him. All of Brian’s movements were blocky and slow, and mirrored exactly what he has been training with his team for the last year. If he gets good table time with people who can match his strength for a year, then he will look better.
As a former boxer that understands body movement and mechanics. People like brian that are extremely tall and long at 6'8" it takes alot longer to gain that fluidity and coordination as well as getting comfortable on a table built for much shorter smaller guys. Eddie came in with coordination and fluidity because hes at that height and length range. That said guys like brian dont have to be as fluid and coordinated as eddie because of his length and levers and height. Boxing works the same way in that once tall guys master the fundamentals and techniques of boxing outside , they dont have to nor can they have that explosive, fluid, smooth mile tysonesque ability to be effective whereas if mike tyson had the coordination of say a lennox lewis hed have gotten clobbered because proper infighting requires more explosivity generally speaking. There are parallels between boxing and armwrestling because its using your body in specific ways, an applied science. Im absolutely psyched about brian because i felt he may gas after a few hard rounds because hes huge and musclebound but he remained rock strong and kept his horsepower throughout that long hard match. He showed insane heart, stamina and focus. Im convinced brian will be everything advertised and i believe even if eddie keeps training the gap will grow exponentially. As i said its due to his extreme height and length thats caused him to take longer to gain that mind body synergy, coordination, and fluidity etc. i guarantee his upside is incalculably higher than Eddie's but as i said eddies average or at least not overly tall and long frame enabled him to be fluid right away but his upside isnt close to brians.
Brian didn't gas out because strongman is an incredibly demanding sport in terms of endurance and cardio. People see those monsters and think they're slow and out of breath. They can run faster than the average man, and for longer, while carrying 250lbs barrels. Strongman is no joke.
I’m only here because of Brian and Eddie. I didn’t really have much interest or knowledge in arm wrestling before. Now I would say that I’m casually interested in it.
People fail to realize that Brian has such a strong grip, that he could do better without the strap just based off of how he feels grabbing the other man's hand and then pulling it to the pad. Whereas the strap makes him focus less on his grip strength. When you have grip strength like brian, you rely on it more than the strap. And that is a fact. Am I the only one that notices Brian has better grip strength than feeling a strap on his hand preventing him from using his natural grip strength?
@@tdement90 exactly! Everyone was saying Brian didn’t get it because he didn’t slip on an outside move. But why slip when Eddie is trying to pull his hand out and Brian can vice-grip and force him to the pad? Fact is, he’s such a freak, armwrestling might just look different for him than it does for everyone else.
Totally agree. I think that was also born out in the "training" videos. Eddie showing he wasn't training in the strap and Devon constantly saying don't hold on to Eddie. Both camps had figured it out and were trying to hide their hands. I imagine both Neil and Devon saw through each other too! Brian seemed so nervous at first, it took him at least the first round to settle down.
Also, Brian has invited people all over the world into his gym to do his grip training, he's had several other strongmen try his grip process and not even other strongmen or grip masters complete it. But Brian does it every time. I'm saying this because it shows his grip is reliable enough to use without a strap in most cases. The strap seems to hinder him, but he needs to learn to use that also. It's just going to take Brian a little longer than usual to get used to it.
Eddie is arguably the strongest human ever in terms of pure static strength. In straps, he can generate so much raw force that it will nullifying technical arm wrestlers. Just Imagine if after enough rigorous training, he fully connected/locked in his immense back pressure (500kg deadlift) man that would be terrifying Ik Brian will continue to become an absolute demon, he loves AW Now Eddie got a taste for it and his potential is immense, hope he here to stay for the long run
The static strenght works under pressure, for example pushing in front of him where the tough chest is required. Of course, in the arm wrestling enironment there isn't anyone close to his strenght, neither Pushkar even ifprobably he remain more specific for arm wrestling.
@ yeah man It takes long long time to get it right and it still won’t be perfect. However if he managed to tap into his strength, get some sort of connection. He will defo be a formidable opponent for anyone.
Neil is the difference. I'd much rather have 6 weeks with Neil than 6 months with the random local guys Brian had, that he could already beat. He learned how to do the lifts and he got strong, but he didn't learn how to armwrestle. Eddie did. Neil is the best coach for new armwrestlers, and he knows strongman too which makes him even better at translating their power to armwrestling. Devon is not good at teach noobies, he talks over their heads, he doesn't give them basic drills. Also telling Brian to never hold on ever and always go straps is silly, the dude has has best grip in the world he can pin some guys outside the strap by holding on like Levan, Vitaly and Tobias do when they can. It's a weapon he can use in some situations just like those 3 and a few others do. Devon is bad at acknowledging different people's strengths and weaknesses and styles, he just tries to make everyone armwrestle exactly like him, without them having the 30 years of experience and conditioning he did to make his style work, for him. Brian needs to get a coach out there with him for at least a month and he'll transform into a real threat. Neil, Bob Brown, someone like that. If Neil trained Eddie for 6 weeks and Brian for 6 weeks, I think Brian would have stomped Eddie much more easily.
I've been saying since the beginning that I LOVE the idea of Brian getting serious w/ arm wrestling BUT I REALLY wish he would do tournaments. The old Cosmic Punch concept is what he needs more than anything else IMO.
Eddie didn't start from scratch for this fight, ~3 years ago Eddie was considering a match against RVJ and there are some videos of Neil working with him years ago. I doubt he had as much quality time on the table with a good coach for less total time than Eddie with Neal for 5-6 weeks basically full time.
Lack of time with a "good" coach is the main point I agree with. As a Brit with little arm wrestling knowledge listening to Devon explain movements I'm just completely lost and assumed it's because I don't speak good American. Neil on the other hand is very clear and is able to demonstrate and explain things far better than Devon imo. Also could be a stylistic difference of Devon has been teaching Brian suits his strengths but not Brian's.
@@mikeuuuytffvghjjoopoiytfthis is only because devon always tries to speak in weird codes and philosophical ways. He doesn't know how to simplify his words, this is what separates normal/knowledgeable people from the geniuses in their field of work. If you're able to explain quantum physics to an 8 year old and have them fascinated then you're doing something right. This is something Devon is not capable of.
exactly this! I keep saying this Eddie isn't complete newbie, but brian is Also you've to consider the size of the man... That man aint normal human body And armwrestling tables are made for normal to big human beings. Brian isn't normal to big, he's big×2 Comparing the current armwrestling exp. of these two isn't fair imho
Brian was off to a bad start and he showed great mental strength. Eddie had nothing to lose. Brian was able to stay focus despite the enormous pressure and he changed his way of doing things. His top roll was well executed and clean. He acted perfectly to avoid the strap. I think Brian has a real future in this sport. Eddie too
It was brilliant. Eddie really made this into a BIG EVENT instead of just some boring "oh Brian could beat some decent guy" showcase. Brian still is insanely strong with a great frame for AW, but he needs a couple of years of work before hell get to the upper levels. Which is fine! The fun part is that Eddie could also go very far as well. Do we really believe he couldn't get to a point where he beats guys like Matt Mask, Chaffee etc? I certainly think so.
I think if Neil trained Brian, the outcome would be terrifying to watch. Loved the match it was the funniest one of the night and Eddie rallying the crowd to get in Brians head. Both guys did a great job to make the match competitive but i do think had it gone to strap more, the outcome could of been different.
I do believe brian should be trained by him instead. Hes a better trainer he makes you better with what you are best at. The issue with devon is he trains everyone as if they all do it the same as him. I feel he didnt capitalize his training for his specific strengths.
The problem is people keep spreading misinformation. Devon had a few days with Brian, and then he did his own thing with other people + lifting exercises. Technically, Neil had more table time with Eddie, who also has prior experience in armwrestling, but people never look past the surface of a situation
It was so entertaining to see both athletes learning, evolving differently. The build up, the trash talk, the intensity during the match... really one if not the best fun I had watching arm wrestling to date. Thanks for that!
Do you think Brian is too big for the current table set up just curious. also I hope Eddie stays in the sport. He is a great character and very fun to watch.
This was the Griffin Bonnar of Arm Wrestling. Time for some serious $$$ and sponsors. Well done to the Titans for bringing all the thin armed normal people to the table!
Going into the event, I definitely seen Brian as the favorite. But watching it live and then seeing how well Eddie handled Brian in the strap, I genuinely thought Eddie could pull it off. I was basically on the edge of my seat! What a fantastic match and over all fantastic event. Can't wait to see how the future of the sport continues to grow following this. Thanks coach!
Brian has two years of serious training AND going on tournaments (super important) to be able to even try some of the guys that are remotely elite. Like arround 20th place. Even try to see where he is. But, on the other hand, Brian does seem as a very smart person, that understands allready all the basics like training, strenght, rest, commitment, all the basics in strenght sports that are shared across. And thats huge. So, there is potential, depending on his will and seriousness to achieve some things much faster than what should be expected on average. PS: KOTT really has no luck in picking matches, almost 95% come as mismatch. Like, when you manage to fail in Linn VS Kostadinov, and even that comes as a missmatch, man, thats reall unlucky lol
Both looked amazing for their first match. Im going to give Brian some credit because he did what was necessary to win the match and didn't let the pressure affect him. He's not completely fluid on the table yet, but he looked good and was moving better than we've seen in practice videos. Im glad it was competitive and i think its much better for Brian that Eddie put up a good fight.
I am agree with you 100%. I did expect Brian to win and my only concern and hope were both not having any injury and having a good match in the end, for the sport, not just going in one way. Well, Eddie & Neil have exceed all my expectations. Way better than what I thought. Not just because what happened on the table but by the way Eddie controlled the flow, the atmosphere...everything. Hats off... in regards to Brian, yessss , there are levels and levels of coaches and learning. Just keeping going forward buddy. We love you!
I follow strongman and especially Eddie and Brian - they are very comparable in strength. Both have lifted unliftable dumbbell and done the 2 -45 plate challenge (with one hand). Eddie has been proven stronger in squat, bench, and overhead press.
_"been proven stronger in squat, bench, and overhead press."_ It's simple physics that shorter guys will be stronger in those events, especially the squat. Taller guys like Brian have other events that they have an advantage in, it doesn't mean that anyone is stronger than the other on the table just based on these metrics.
Eddie has been arm wrestling for years. Just look for videos on TH-cam. He was on the table coached by MMT years ago, he talks about working with Neil in videos that are years old. He wanted to pretend he had 5 weeks to make it look like an upset. He thought he was trolling Brian and Devon and got his tiny wrist ripped off 😂
Everything I've said for the past couple months has been something like "they don't have to be seasoned professionals to make this a real match" and "this will be a real match". How fortunate for us that the people involved are extremely entertaining when they get fires lit under them
Eddie had Top-tier training for 8 weeks with Neil, 2 sessions a week for 3-4 hours. Brian worked mostly with low-mid tier guys for 16 weeks. Devon did not train Shaw; working with someone for a few hrs over 3 days is not training them. Eddie had better training than Brian, and it showed, but Brian still won easily because of his power. Shaws' upside is far better than Eddies. If he gets proper training,. Just think of Neil working with Shaw twice a week for 8 weeks. He would have destroyed Eddie even worse than he did.
I bought the POV. I absolutely loved this match! Brian Shaw is my all-time favorite athlete, and I was very proud that he won, but it’s going to take time for him to get the technique of Armwrestling down. He will be a force to be reckoned with though. Once he does learn it all.
Brians enjoying the untapped business opportunities, the combat based competition and something new to sink his teeth into that gives him that purpose to chase on a day to day basis, this is who Brian is.
You were 100% right. Bryan looks a bit awkward still, but that stength is undeniable. Eddie has a natural coordination, and talent in any sport he takes interest in.
I've only been following arm-wrestling off and on for about 2 years so take what I say with a grain of salt. I know its scored that way but I don't consider fouling out as a win. In my mind Eddie only got 1 round. Still, more than was expected, no doubt. Brian is still scared of his own strength and it shows. He was stone faced the whole time as if he wasn't exerting force he is capable of which he has admitted throughout his starongman career and attributes it to his longevity. Which was probably smart until he figures out the mechanics to prevent breaking something. Also, cant remember who said it other than Brian, but the table is more of an issue than is being let on. Eddies mind game strategy was absolutely brilliant and he knew all of Brians buttons.
you are completly right the match was sooo cool to watch, brian as to spend a ton of time on the table to develop all the movements and feelings, for eddie is table IQ and movement are already better he can be with some involvement on his part really good ( youguys need to motivate him to continue)
Many people keep talking about how Eddie was a surprise. Not to Brian he wasn't. Eddie is VERY competitive no matter what he says. Brian knows this. They have been great pals for years. Also many people thought Devon is bad coach for Brian. Which I think is true. But this is no ones fault. I mean if you are Brian you are going to listen to Devon. And Devon just wanted to help. But Brian has such immense power he doesn't need all the knowledge Devon has. He doesn't need to try and adopt Devon's style. He needs to train more like Levan. And be coached by someone who just sticks to the basics and can explain them very clearly.
Congratulating on your wins Ray I watch the per frights and there you won all three matches that you were in. Eddie were under Brian skin and I will love to see Eddie agents the big talkers in arm wrestling when his skill is there. Brian will get better, and he knows that he needs to adapt to the table, I do believe that both him and Levan will enjoy a bigger table, but I know that the table is an official table and Brian need to adapt to it that will take time. Both of them got hooked on the adrenaline so I don't believe that they are going anywhere.
Absolutely LOVED the show they (mostly Eddie) put up! Brian Shaw actually introduced me to the sport through his TH-cam videos and oh boy was this a perfect introduction to armwrestling events
Brian Shaw is a Giant which makes it a bit more difficult for him to adjust to the movements. Eddie is also phenomenally athletic and not quite as big as Brian so he was able to adapt a bit more. Armwrestling is a feel and Brian will get it in very near future. Once he does, he will be a force. His style is going to be like Dave Chaffee
Such a fascinating show. I’m a big fan of both Brian and Eddie and it was awesome to see the beast from Eddie come out. We have not seen that in a long time. It was amazing to see Brian just use pure strength to dominate Eddie. When he learns technique, it’s terrifying to think how good he will be. He just held onto Eddie’s hand and just pinned him. 😂
Completely agree Eddie Hall is extremely charismatic and he is such a great trash talker he totally adds to Arm wrestling. Eddie Hall should pursue this sport because he would be a beast. Brian is also incredible and definitely needs work but he is driven so I can see him really pushing himself. Great night for arm wrestling 💪
Neil on Shaw’s podcast called it, saying that true Brian is the favorite, but you never know what can happen when the match actually starts, because all that training for beginners can go out the window. Brian and Devon pushed back so hard but sure enough it was true..
I have never watched a single arm wrestling match before this. But follow Eddie and Brian from strongman. it's been super entertaining following their journey, Neal and Devon as coaches have been hilarious.
As i said for multiple reasons that have to do with the reason why typically world champions are "average height" comparatively speaking. For brian to be that tall and long and do what he did with 6 months actually impressed me more than eddie making it a match at "7 weeks". I commented as to why but needless to say brian is gonna be one of those insane immovable super powerful center table strength pullers that slowly hydraulically presses guys.
That match raises the only important question: why train hard and sacrifice all the time and effort when the guy in front of you is just so freakishly strong, he’ll win anyway with 0 technique? It, in a weird way, makes a joke of the sport. It’s literally “just be stronger” meme
What are you talking about? Brian completely dominated that match. Eddie only got him once with the strap and that was close. The other win was from Brian double faulting. The praise for Eddies childish behavior with - "this is what AW needs" - "great trash-talking" blah blah blah is ridiculous. Eddie made himself look like a ranting punk - swearing at everyone (with women and children around) calling Brian a pussy repeatedly with Brian's wife and little boy right there, and dissing on the USA with his obvious sarcastic anti-American sentiments (the guy is emotionally like a punk 12 year old). This is same -thing that happened with the Thor fight - Eddie shoots his mouth off and then ends up eating his words by getting his ass kicked. If the meathead just shut his mouth and concentrated on winning he might have done much better. Now all this being said I do want to see Eddie continue (maybe even a Brian vs. Eddie rematch), but if he keeps bringing this trashy behavior the AW world we do not need it or him.
Instead of calling Brian the b and p word and saying f u and what not Eddie could have pulled a Don Rickles and make insults while keeping it funny and somewhat classy. Eddie sunk to the same level we've seen during the entire Thor fight buildup and it's off-putting. You could tell Brian was taken aback by some of the things Eddie said. I already know people would accuse me of being over sensitive but they don't see the long term result of this. What's the next step? Bad-mouthing the children? Bad-mouthing the wives? Making fun of relatives? Bringing diseases, divorces and death into the mix? I'm just saying. I haven't forgotten some of the things Eddie has said in the past. I like funny banter, i love the going back and forth but this was just trashy and not what the sport needs.
Brian needs to hit the local tournaments and get some mileage. It would be both beneficial to him and it would be fun to watch him touring around facing normal mortals.
In ur previous video before the match i was 100% spot on about Brian taking it easy in training to learn the motions. Thats exactly what he did in the match. He stayed calm and learned as the match went on. All the haters in the comments was dead wrong 😂
No, Eddie win a round starting first. The match didn't go like otherones sayed. Brian was always better in every round, and the dobble foul is false. Also there was a foul by Eddie.
What everyone needs to understand is that Eddie had the option to slip, and use the strap. Especially after realizing he was better with it. But he didn’t…
The only time Eddie didn’t really listen was training for the Thor fight, he even put a video out stating not to slate his boxing trainer as the guy was a legit trainer just Eddie just wanted to brawl with Thor not box, and it cost him. He put out a video titled time to eat humble pie. Sorry to point this out to those that hate him. Eddies actually a great athlete and decent guy, y’all just won’t ever admit it.
I expected Eddie to take a round or two but thought Brian would win. Just because of how well Eddie was moving in this training footage. I DID NOT however think Eddie would be good in the strap compared to Brian. That was a shock to me.
I don't see Brian cracking top 10 for at least 2 years. He needs a lot of time to find his groove and develop the strength correctly so that he can go full power without hurting himself.
Nah, it all depends how much mileage he is willing to get in and if he can get a coach to give him consistent feedback. If he commits the strength he has will make him climb quickly in the ranks.
Feel like Eddie let Brian win intensionally, with not going into the strap. He hyped the match and made it bigger, therfore making Brian and his win bigger. Having in mind that he is pursuing other sports as well, and Brian plans on sticking to Armwrestling
If you watch closely, brian lost everytime he wasn't staring at the ref, if he stared at the ref before the start with that laser focus, he won. Just goes to show how speed off the start is so critical
100% Eddie would have won if he just had slipped in those very obvious situations. And Brian didnt prevent him from slipping at all. He gave it away in that way. Other than that, Eddie needs credit for leveling up the entertainment level to 1000. The mental game was perhaps even more powerful than prime Devon. I might be wrong, but just looking at Brians face, it really looked like he broke down a bit under that mental pressure.
Brian vs Eddie was the most entertaining match of ArmWrestling ive seen in a while 💯

I'm the 1% who said people were overlooking Eddie. And I am a Brain Shaw fan first and foremost. I knew Eddie would give Brian fits. The problem with most people is they focus too much on their favorites while not giving enough consideration to the opponent. Eddie Hall is one of the strongest men to ever live and is athletic as well. The match went exactly as I called it.
I think instead of taking credit away from Brian and acting like he didn’t work his ass off bc anyone who knows him knows he did, you just have to give credit to Eddie for picking it up so quickly. Some guys are just faster learners. Doesn’t mean Brian isn’t ever gonna get better. it just may be a slower approach. He’s a far more methodical thinker and analyzes every little thing and I think sometimes over analyzes and I think that cost him a few WSM titles honestly. So maybe it’s a case where he is over thinking every little thing since there is so much thrown at him and that’s why it seems Eddie picked it up faster.
I think eddie hyper focused on technique to learn super fast for the match. I think brian learned a little bit of everything from technique to weight training specifically for arm wrestling because he is planning for the long haul. That to me is why eddie looked to move better, and the fact that brian is massive and can barely fit on the table to begin with.
I agree with most of your assessment Coach but through the screwyness in the setups, the strap was applied poorly. Brian elbow fouled before the pin, they didn’t review it at all. When Brian, Jodi Larrat and myself were demanding it. You can’t apply back pressure when the refs constantly dump your hand. When they rematch, it will be a sweep 🧹. Fantastic fight, great card, eddy shocked me. Watch Eddies stance at the table etc. there fundamentals are on par.
Most exciting match ever they brought millions of eyes to armwrestling no doubt.Vince McMahon did the same in 80's and 90's when brought real stars to wwf/wwe Wrestlers wasn't happy just like Armwrestlers are not happy because Brain and Eddie were treated like God ,but guys this is good for the sport.
Neil proved he has a superior understanding of at least how to train newbies. I wonder who is more knowledgeable about armwrestling in general, devon or neil? Perhaps neil has more understanding where devon has more ability? Or maybe devon just has different areas of expertise... Perhaps both.
I don't think Brian just gripped and went sideways. He was focusing on Eddies fingers and applying pressure into them. It was Eddie with the bad technique holding on....i'm not sure what match you watched.
I think the best coaches for Brian Shaw are John Brzenk and Michael Todd, and Brian also needs more table time (training) with amateurs and professionals.
Can you teach the guys how to talk more trash like Devon and Eddie? Thats what makes armwrestling so fun and good to watch. Just straight trashing the other guy then hugging after! LOL

Eddie's desire to always spoil Brian's big moment is what kept Eddie serious and training hard. 😂
Everyone is saying that we need Brian in armwrestling, but actually, I think we need more Eddie.
Both need to stay in the game for sure
Nah eddie is non-comital to this, hes gone from boxing, to UFC to armwrestling in the space of a few years its all for the vids
Both are welcome
Nah. Brian all the way i could live without eddie personally.
@@maxpowers4436he's never fought in the UFC
Eddie has to come back!
i thought brian did awesome . everyone keeps talking about eddie . but Brian still won the match .
People are talking about Eddie because Eddie trained for this for like 8 weeks compared to Brian training for a year. But I still say that Eddie has done way more arm wrestling then he says. I truely believe he's done it for a long time on and off and Eddie did and does love arm wrestling.
@@reviewforthetube6485 either way Brian won the match . deserves more credit thats all im saying . Eddie was aweosme ofcourse
That match was so good when I saw it live at the event, that I bought the PPV when I got back home to watch it again!!

Even with 160kg he is really fast.
dont forget he trained boxing for a year and been training mma. While brians just lifting heavy weights for his whole life.
@@gavinma4831 brian was a basketballl player first
I'm definitely one of the 10% because I have been watching Strong Man since I was a very young kid, and I have followed Brian and Eddie for many years. Eddie had more time with world-class arm wrestlers than Brian.
people forget how fcking strong eddie is because he is making a fool out of himself on the youtube last few years. He is a monster
You is good well at Physics
The one thing you didn't mention was age. Brian is considerably older. won't help him really.
@@adam_nykaliexcept it will. Tendon strength improves with age. Devon's like 85 yo
Brian didn't gas out because strongman is an incredibly demanding sport in terms of endurance and cardio.
People see those monsters and think they're slow and out of breath. They can run faster than the average man, and for longer, while carrying 250lbs barrels. Strongman is no joke.
(T)endons, (L)igaments, (D)exterity, (R)ange - that is the key here
I’m only here because of Brian and Eddie.
You're right... if he learns how to flash pin he will absolutely dominate because no one will slip out
@@tdement90 exactly!
Just Imagine if after enough rigorous training, he fully connected/locked in his immense back pressure (500kg deadlift) man that would be terrifying
Ik Brian will continue to become an absolute demon, he loves AW
Now Eddie got a taste for it and his potential is immense, hope he here to stay for the long run
The static strenght works under pressure, for example pushing in front of him where the tough chest is required. Of course, in the arm wrestling enironment there isn't anyone close to his strenght, neither Pushkar even ifprobably he remain more specific for arm wrestling.
@ yeah man
It takes long long time to get it right and it still won’t be perfect.
However if he managed to tap into his strength, get some sort of connection. He will defo be a formidable opponent for anyone.
Saying Brian didn’t have to really arm wrestle is totally unfair.
He really did not
Neil is the difference.
Eddie was better in the straps. He should've slipped.
Thanks for repeating what everyone heard Ray say. You clown.
Brian has over 300lbs of grip pressure and massive hands if he is holding on you aren't slipping.
He was trying, Brian had a death claw on his hand.
Eddie tried to hold on and regrip to much, instead of slipping. In first round he did it with ease
he let brian get the win lmao. if he didn't it would look bad for the sport.
I keep saying this
Eddie isn't complete newbie, but brian is
Also you've to consider the size of the man... That man aint normal human body
And armwrestling tables are made for normal to big human beings. Brian isn't normal to big, he's big×2
Comparing the current armwrestling exp. of these two isn't fair imho
It wasn't elbow foules. Brian was fouled for loading. And give Brian some credit he had a beautiful transition into a press!
We need the full match of Brian vs Eddie ASAP
Brian was good enough for his first match.
_"been proven stronger in squat, bench, and overhead press."_
It's simple physics that shorter guys will be stronger in those events, especially the squat.
He thought he was trolling Brian and Devon and got his tiny wrist ripped off 😂
Eddie's shit talk was so funny and intense brian had the power and eddie had the technical side of it
Is there anywhere to watch this yet?
Great analysis. Brian has a long road ahead. Eddie did amazing. Let's watch!
Maybe Eddie refused to slip because he wanted Brian to win??
No, Eddie can't win except by starting first. He was faster but then Brian locked him. And he did an underpressure move, not rolling.
@simonemiglioli1165 Do you mean that Eddie wasn't better than Brian in the straps? Eddie won the strap round
you are completly right the match was sooo cool to watch, brian as to spend a ton of time on the table to develop all the movements and feelings, for eddie is table IQ and movement are already better he can be with some involvement on his part really good ( youguys need to motivate him to continue)
I 1000% agree with everything you said , I think this was a GREAT showcase for arm wrestling. No complaining about hand position just an awesome fight
Great commentary Ray! Well thought insights into the match and the future
Your videos are always uplifting and energizing! Thank you for your creativity and warmth.⭐️🏍🏅
Absolutely LOVED the show they (mostly Eddie) put up! Brian Shaw actually introduced me to the sport through his TH-cam videos and oh boy was this a perfect introduction to armwrestling events
Eddie definitely stole the scene in all fronts, entertainment, arm wrestling, shit talk, man handling Devon even 😂
When Brian gets fluid on the table, 2-3 years from now, it will be a sight to see...
I hope they both continue to pursue arm wrestling, but Eddie really seems like a natural.
Such a fun match! I was so hype watching it, I really hope they continue with arm wrestling! thanks for the coverage
I have never watched a single arm wrestling match before this. But follow Eddie and Brian from strongman. it's been super entertaining following their journey, Neal and Devon as coaches have been hilarious.
Brian did exactly what he needed to do to win. Every loss he came back better and Eddie didn’t have an answer for it.
Eddie was fine. Did a little teasing.
I like funny banter, i love the going back and forth but this was just trashy and not what the sport needs.
aw diddums
Brian needs to hit the local tournaments and get some mileage. It would be both beneficial to him and it would be fun to watch him touring around facing normal mortals.
The fact eddie did what he did on jusy weeks of training but Brian's had a year of show just shows you who's the better teacher imo
In ur previous video before the match i was 100% spot on about Brian taking it easy in training to learn the motions. Thats exactly what he did in the match. He stayed calm and learned as the match went on. All the haters in the comments was dead wrong 😂
I know if Eddie slipped all the rounds, he could win the match with a strap. I hope Brian gets more technical and smart.
I completely agreed with you and with Engin. It was the most entertaining match of the event
Of course, thats a reasonable time frame.
Yes this is really believable
@@efe_ayn probably not, eddie is too competitive for that, Brian was simoly too strong and eddie couldnt escape his grip
Good assessment. You are a credit to the sport Ray! Keep up the good work
Eddie is a natural athlete. This kind of thing would come easy for him.
The event overall was great, Eddie and Brian stole the show.
One complaint though, it was slow as hell, no way 10 matches should take 6 hours....
I heard the "crack" live and I thought one of them broke something too, that was scary for sure. Thankfully it was just Brian's mic.
Brian hangs out with Devon, now wears his cap backwards.
It was hands down the best match of the event. Super fun to watch. Eddie's antics are more fun and palatable than Devon's current crap.
Best match of the night. Very balanced and clean. No dangerous positions 💪
I don't think Brian just gripped and went sideways. He was focusing on Eddies fingers and applying pressure into them. It was Eddie with the bad technique holding on....i'm not sure what match you watched.
Soo good for the sport that those two Giants performed like this.
I think people are so hung up on size they forgot that strength is not size. Strength is strength.
@@xbenxwilsonxhighlights7879 size and strenght do corelate mass moves mass
I think the best coaches for Brian Shaw are John Brzenk and Michael Todd, and Brian also needs more table time (training) with amateurs and professionals.
Brian vs Eddie was match of the night
I talked to several people there that were there only to see Brian shaw and eddie arm wrestle!
Brain's hand held eddie in place which is nuts
I put money on eddie getting a round. I was super happy he got 1 on fouls and 1 with a pin 📌
Brian legit can be top-10 in the world in 3 years.
Your videos are always so funny and exciting! Thank you for your creativity and your ability to make us laugh!🍿🍮🔷
Can you teach the guys how to talk more trash like Devon and Eddie? Thats what makes armwrestling so fun and good to watch. Just straight trashing the other guy then hugging after! LOL
