This is not a 74 RSR Turbo restoration project....you should look at the facts before spitting out such non-sense!
these body pieces and turboed 2.1 engine were fitted originally by Porsche to a 1973 911 RSR. the chassis was numbered R5. This was Porsche's test vehicle for preparation of the 1974 RSR 2.1 Turbo which was to race at Lemans. This in fact was the actual first turboed 911 and not the 74's as stated by Porsche since it was only a test mule. The owner of the R5 chassis decided the car was more valuable in the original 911 RSR versus the turbo 2.1 look and had it returned to the original RSR. These body parts and drivetrain were sold off. What is shown here is a 1973 non RSR chassis, and all the parts, body work, and drive train were installed on this chassis. its hard to say if its a replica due to the fact it has all original Porsche parts, more like a tribute car with authentic parts. but not a 74 as this is a long hood chassis

911 tubs come and go, this is legit factory hardware. Calm down

Not like a 1974 3.0 rsr isnt important on its own. Which is what you claim this is.

I don't get it, they restored so much on the car that you can't talk about an all original car anymore so why not restore those few crusty parts they left untouched? Now it looks great but flawed.

meaningless, as you strip the car down to the sheetmetal, it's more convenient to fix it for good instead of repeating the same job as soon as another part give up.
