That's the man to drive a SAAB V4 rally car! The right shift at the right part of the road and giving the right rpm. Then you
flies threw the curves using momentum to move the car maybe with left foot brake before turning. In Sweden the driver is on the left in the car.
OH I'm jealous not being the driver but mr. Fredriksson thank you for the ride! I understand in further videos that
you compete with todays rally cars and this car is 50 years old! Well it's time to find the old CAD design and produce these SAAB again so we can have fun on the rally circuit in the future! Of course the new rally cars is build for fast roads but when with these curved ways you don't need high speed or power. The motor needs the right shift and power to drag the car threw the curves. The sport is much more interesting when driving in extreme curves and jumping road with short high speed lines both for the driver and the public seeing it like this.
Yes I had SAAB V4 in the 80'ths and I miss it even when driving new cars. SAAB has always made fun cars to drive and waiting for the cars from SAAB NEVS to be reborn. So when you see a smiling SAAB driver you may see why here!

Left foot braking has nothing to do with cornering, it was started by Erik Carlsson or Stig Blomquist who due to the low poer of the earlier 20strke engine couldn't lift their foot off the accelerator pedal so have to use their left foot to brake and operate the clutch.

@@allanmacbadger5692 Of course, it has to do with cornering, when braking on the left. You use the left brake at the same time as the gas, to get the rear end out and also to stabilize the car's movements when driving with the freewheel engaged. Some drive with engine brake, i.e. disengaged freewheel and then you can drive with less left brake. I prefer to drive with a freewheel and left brake, as you don't have to use the clutch when changing gears, except when you start and usually between 1st and 2nd. 😎👍

Hyvä Gunnar ! Nice drive ! And the worlds best rally car ! I've been a fan of Simo Lampinen and Saabs since I saw him driving these machines !

Missed shift at 1:58 but damn! The SAAB 96 carried the styling of a 3/5 scale '48 Packard, looks relatively harmless, but a real terror on the rally circuit. Sort of the ultimate sleeper!

Det underbara ljudet av två Weber 45:or och korsinsug samt en 1815-kubik! Kanske?
Jag hade en V4 (årsmodell 1968) med just den bestyckningen och ljudet av Weber 45:or var helt suveränt. Det liksom gurglade.
    Härliga bilder.

I've seen Tommi V4 drive this stage in pretty much the same way in his Saab 96 - AYA 10
