Anyone with an interest in games typically has at one point in their life made their own game. I recall as a kid, myself and my brothers made a local version of Monopoly. I also made a sort of Jaws game where you had to eat as many swimmers as possible. A few years ago I thought of a twist on whist card game basically having a rock scissors paper type of thing for trumps...it was too clumsy. Of course those inventions were for personal enjoyment and never released into the public sphere
We've hit rock bottom if we have to flee to New Jersey. I'm staying in NYC, I imagine the zombies in the greenwich village are cool. And you need some rats of course, they are more dangerous then the rabid dog! 🤣🤣 Looks awesome, can't wait to try it out!!
Haha, I've had a couple of people say they'd rather stay in a zombie-infested Manhatten, even if NJ were the safest place left :D Thanks for your support!
So much fun! I really appreciate the ease of getting playing in about five minutes. Just what I needed after a long day. Thank you for your creative efforts - keep up the great work 😊
Plus i played your game last night and i have some feedback for you. I love the fact the rules are simple and straight forward and getting infected by a Zombie and you only have so many rounds to get cured is a very good idea! Even tho i losted at the final encounter. You're game was still a very enjoyable experience plus it would be easy for fans to do fan content for this game like new locations and new final encounters overall well done 👏 a worthy game that was worth making!
Thanks so much for your feedback! Hope you have more luck on your next run through! It would be awesome to see some fan content for the New York Zombies!
Pretty great play through and following along, it seems fairly balanced with the changes you've made already. As always, this does have me thinking, "how could I turn this into a Foundry VTT module...???" 😏
Love your playthroughs. I’ve bought this and a few others purely based on your videos! (Notequest + expansion, Dismal Armory, 2D6 etc). So thank you. On a side note you’ve spelled ‘Presence’ incorrectly on the character sheet. But hey, who cares?!
Thanks for your support! Hope you enjoyed those games - you picked some good ones! Re. who cares about the spelling of Presence - I do :D Thanks for mentioning - I'll change it in the next version!
Great game! Really enjoyed playing! Got a couple questions though. What should I roll for damage if I don't have a weapon / ran out of ammo, D4? Also, I'm guessing found pistols/rifles don't come with any ammo, right? Thanks again. Love the channel.
Glad you're enjoying the game! The current version doesn't specify the damage for attacks without a weapon. I've added it in for the next version and it will be as you assumed - D4 damage. Yeah I guess weapons don't come with ammo. Don't know if that's too mean... 🙂
Hi, I love little games like yours, relly like this one congrats🎉 I’ve found a little error: the Manhattan Map is not the same in the coloured version and in the printer friendly version. Is the printer friendly the correct one?😊 Thanks✋🏻
@@henriettapuskas7870 Doh! Well I'm being dopey today :D You're right - they are not the same in the two different verions and, as you say, the printer-friendly is the correct one: One per location, reroll event roll. Thanks!
If you are still considering making changes, might I suggest that you ramp up the "push your luck" element by increasing risk factor on a roll of 1 or if you roll up an encounter or event that you have previously come across in that area? Nice game though. When I finally get my new printer.......
Yup I'm totally going to be making some additional changes - thanks for your suggestion! I was aware that the risk factor probably wasn't increasing fast enough (I'd originally had it increase on a roll of 1 or 2 but changed that for other reasons). I like the idea of that happening if you roll an event a second time - will definitely consider that! Hope you enjoy it once you get your new printer!
I have a few questions after playing couple of games. Do you use up ammo after unsuccessful attack with ranged weapon? Can you heal during combat? What are medical papers for?
Thanks for playing! Ammo - used up if the attack is successful or unsuccessful. Healing - any time, any where! Medical Papers - I believe there is an event in the Lincoln Tunnel where the medical papers will allow you to skip a test.
@lone_adventurer Thank you for the game and for replying! I must have missed that part in Lincoln Tunnel. In my defense I can say I haven't managed to get that far in my playthroughs. Probably because I decided not to heal during combat.
@@andrewmarkowski308 Well...I'm not sure I've heard of anyone winning yet :D A few people have definitely gotten as far as the tunnel though! Thanks for playing!
Yeah....I thought about that. Might change it, but I thought the chances of starting with 2 bullets (since you might get one from the ammo can as well) might be a little too mean :D
I don't think I saw a stat for unarmed or "no item" combat. There could be situations where you have used or lost all your items and then you can't really attack anything. I would think there would be plenty of sticks around so even if there is not as good a weapon as the items, a person should be able to find and use something (maybe D4-2?). It also feels like some items might be good for defense, like a knife that is not very good for offense could give a +1 on defense, for example. I like the game overall, simple and playable.
Thanks for your input! It might not be on the version in the playthrough, but the most recent version has a mention of fighting with no valid weapon: If you have only a ranged weapon and no ammo, you may melee attack with no weapon at Strength TN14.
About 26:15 you encounter a priest but use toughness for your roll. I think it was knowledge?? Can’t remember now. Either way the 18 roll was an easy win.
At about 26:00, you say you are testing Toughness, rather than Knowledge, as the rules and fiction would imply; this is actually to your detriment, as your Knowledge is higher. It works out in the end as you succeed anyways, but I felt it was worth pointing out.
I love the fact that game reviewers are starting to create their own games genius!
We do all seem to be at it 😁
@lone_adventurer why not! You are the best people to create them as you already live and breath games anyway!

Ya those thugs. They got me twice during test play I think. Sometimes the combat goes a few rounds with those 1 damage.
Yeah....still in two minds about making it one thug...might ease the difficulty on the next round of updates. Or I might not :D

Since Harlem is the starting location, perhaps facing 1 street thug is fair?
