  • We want change in this country. We deserve professional police. Not this useless effort. No police constable should be approaching people in the street when they have done nothing wrong !!

Love Scorpion Audits. He knows his stuff. He's still quite new and already better than most. If he sticks at it, and I hope he does, he could be up there with the GOAT himself, Mr Focus Pocus.
Great breakdown as always Mr In Be. You notice so much that I miss like little Miss Strawberry Shortcake's facial expressions. The male plod kept himself quiet and I think its because he picked up very quickly that they were outclassed. Or he could just be full of soy.
It drives me mad when they say things like "leave the area" when doing nothing illegal. They generally leave a pause at the beginning or say it a bit quietly because they know it's wrong. I'm pig headed and if I was told that I'd stay for ages and probably go back the following day.
I'll be sending you my carpet cleaning bill, when you said she should get a job at McDonalds flipping burgers I spat hot milky coffee across the living room floor. The poor dog got a fair share of it too. My misses just laughed as it was running out my nose. She's a keeper.

This was about 10 years ago. A person in my village, was harassing my semi disabled father. I tried it their way, I phoned them. They said there was nothing they could do. So I confronted him, none violently of course. Within 15 minutes. The police were at my door, 5 of those buggers.
I got a warning and lost the job I loved at the care centre I worked at. I have no respect, for them not anymore.

@HendrixSilverclaw Sorry that happened to you. A lot of people put their faith in the filth and get screwed over.
My old next door neighbour was a drunk arse and he often got violent. I always walked away but one day he squared up to my wife with his fists balled up and with his face so close to hers she could smell his rank breath. I snapped and lamped him and he fell on his arse in tears. I made the mistake of telling the police the truth before they heard his lies and 8 piggies turned up and arrested me. Thankfully I had a very credible witness to what had been going on for the previous 4 years and he spoke up. They kept telling him to go away because it was nothing to do with him and eventually he shouted and said it is to do with me because the drunk arse is my Dad and he had it coming. He was 16 at the time. After about 5 minutes chatting with him I was dearrested and lectured that I should have phoned the police and if it happened again I would be arrested and charged. It didn't happen again, I guess he learned his lesson. His son is now 33 and calls me Dad and his kids call me Grandad.
I've not trusted the filth since that day. Every day they earn new enemies because they treat them badly and quite often it's people who have been their strongest supporters that turn on them. Sooner or later they're going to run out of people to piss off.

You can't vote your way out of something you never voted your way into. To add insult to injury I bet in like ten or twenty years they'll turn around when the native population is like 10% and say "You know, we should vote on migration." and hold a referendum. Alas this happens far too often. This tells me that there is no or very little ongoing training of incidents throughout the UK police where the police have made themselves look fools in front of the public and on camera. You would have thought that chief constables would organise ongoing training regarding what is lawful and what is not regarding photography in public. Alas it seems they would rather have them sit at computers looking for hurty words that people have put on social media to effect arrests rather than educating them on the law. All this time wasting by cops on calls that they should tell them that there is nothing illegal in taking video/pictures from a camera or drone in public as long as they are from public even if what they are filming is private. Build a wall if you don’t want a building seen from public.

Perhaps I’m wrong, but with a number of police forces under special measures , perhaps it is time to look at how ‘failing’ turn around their performance . So start with Constables having uniform on correctly , no extra bages etc. Basic things such as no jewellery , picesing, tattoos to be covered. Sun glasses to be recovered when addressing public. Do not use informal terms such as mate, pal, when speaking to public.
Then be professional in behaviour , stay calm and in control of themselves. Know the laws they are enforcing. This would I think go some way in rebuilding respect for the police.

One thing I'd disagree with you on. I'm a freelance cameraman and I have worked for both the BBC, ITN and Reuters. Yes, the police will absolutely come and bother us. In the end we don't want to tell them who we are working for that day because they might then call our employers and imply we have been misbehaving. That makes us look like troublemakers which is not what anyone wants. We need to be able to make a living. So, no, we don't get some sort of special exception because the police are scared of us. They have no reason to be. We have no more power over them than anyone else.
In any of these situations the security people know what to tell the police call handlers to get a response. Often that involves them making false claims about our behaviour ("threatening and abusive" is a favourite). Personally I'd call that making a false report and wasting police time, but they never seem to want to enforce that rule. I'd have thought this would be a textbook example of when the police should be enforcing that because it's obviously becoming a pretty big drain on what they claim are scarce resources, but that's up to the cops, I guess.
We make civil claims against the police pretty commonly. Obviously if someone chooses to hang around and talk to them then there's not going to be a claim, but if they start detaining and arresting then there very much is. Anyone can and I'd encourage people to do so. It doesn't have any direct impact on the police officers concerned but if enough people do it, and if it starts getting expensive enough, someone will eventually start having to ask questions about why this all these incidents end up in a police response at all. It'll take time but I think we can probably force their hand in the end.

If he is in breach of the company's "No Photography" policy then the company is fully within its rights to sack him. Of course, they would first need to hire him, and then they could be taken to an employment tribunal for unfair dismissal since the breach of company rules took place *before* the commencement of his period of employment.

"She is terrible" 9:34 Sir, that is unfair. I agree with your main point, if I have understood you correctly, that the police shouldn't be acting at the behest of private companies, or---in some cases---that of an individual who has been offended by something. That is not the fault of the officers. The obligation that forces them to do these things (which they probably find to be demeaning) should be scrapped, and let the police do their proper job . In your video, I think that the officers acted professionally, and courteously. I do agree with you, though, that someone less informed than your journalist would have felt the need to kowtow to the private company who are using the police as puppets.

Typical police. They turn up in a panic for a man with a camera because a private company don’t like it. They try and enforce policies but ignore their own. When they are told of an actual crime, it goes in one ear and out the other. Useless.

The only thing I'll say against the "trespass being a civil matter" is that now; it can , in some circumstances, become aggravated trespass which is a legal matter.

DEI hires. The government gives her a job on guaranteed pay , benefits and -pension etc., but McDonald's has to be more discerning about employing burger-flippers as they are a private company and subject to the ups and downs and twists and turns of a freer market.

"Move away from the area" What? Unlawful orders abound, and not just in the Met. Every 3 years police of all ranks should be appraised and be able to quote in court their attestation unaided. Fail an appraisal: first time = back to college and appraise again in one year, fail again then out. Or is that too reasonable?

It’s trained incompetence.they walk into police school with empty heads. And their heads are quickly filled with all the things that the public can’t do and it’s that system of training that produces the type of officer that is regularly on show policing our streets

So it took a blue light emergency to attend a no crime, the person who made the call should be made pay for the emergency callout, how do they expect to deal with an alleged emergency by standing there with an open laptop, what was the purpose of the laptop ?
