I love the minor bits of Character Development for Honda. He goes from being a Researcher who had absolutely no clue about the enemy until they already started destroying everything and eating people and showing just how intelligent they truly are, to becoming a Ranger in the EDF's Forces for a Short Time before realizing he's gone way over his head because he sucks at fighting against them, to eventually settling as a newscaster alongside Himekawa and comfortably delivering the news to the people and appearing to now be confident against the threat of the Ravagers (which they'll most likely be called in an American Release, like every other game) unlike before where he was a nervous, terrified mess.
Wait a minute. I recognizes those punch animations. That spin attack, jabs, a hook, and more. It looks damn near exactly like how you fought in Robot Alchemic Drive! I even HEAR the same attack sounds! Based on another video showing its gameplay it doesn't look to have the same controls though. Still. R.A.D. yet has a chance to live again! One of my more cherished PS2 games.
@3:00 Subtitles are for crap. It's not, "this is our hope?!" It's, "Safe-tee... 'Safety Is Job #1?!' Can they really fight in that?!" because Anzen Dai-Ichi ("Safety is Job #1") is generally found plastered on construction equipment.
Is that... JET ALONE!? Holy crap, this is the perfect blend of sleekness that you would expect from an upgraded mech, while still retaining the realistic heft and weight from the previous games. So good!
nah it seem like a more advanced version as balam is incredibly bulky and this looks like an improved version(not as cool but hey giant robots can only be describes as less cool and never not cool am I right ?)
@@alonelyperson6031 no what the hell lol its a construction robot they literally said "humanoid crane" balam could probably overpower it since hes 50 meters (barga is 47m) , more bulky meaning probably more armor
I'm so glad this franchise is still going strong. It has a very unique tongue in cheek yet simultaneously dumb and smart tone that really compliments the gameplay. It also fully turned into a Vs Kaiju game without getting rid of the bugs.
actually, it's an A.U. timeline. there are 2 main timelines in EDF, the last game was a continuation of the 2nd timeline, this game looks to be a continuation of the first, with elements of both thrown in.
2:12 DAT ASSSSSS also, i might get this instead of iron rain.. iron rain graphics are better thusly making the insects scarier and my phobia all the more worse. edf poor graphics actually let me tolerate the insects. so im glad their the same. gameplay mechanics > graphics

The new monster is like the Anguirus to Erginus' Godzilla.
Also, did I just hear the words "fake news" in a Japanese game trailer?

So do I, PC version sold pretty well considering the late port. They're be kind of dumb not to release this one.
Yeah PC Sales were at 150K plus.
150k at £40 a time, that's £6 million. Certainly worth the cost of localisation.
@@archlorddestin Its not about localisation, its about porting it to pc
I've found a reason to be excited about games again!
'Squishes ant under thumb' EDF!!!

The new giant bot doesnt replace the balam does it?
If this takes place in 2022, does that mean it happens before EDF 4.1 (2025)? I can't tell if this is supposed to be a sequel, prequel, or reboot.
Sir Duckyweather it's a reboot, ya
Alright, thanks guys! I think this might be the first time in my life I've ever looked forward to a reboot.
actually, it's an A.U. timeline. there are 2 main timelines in EDF, the last game was a continuation of the 2nd timeline, this game looks to be a continuation of the first, with elements of both thrown in.
I did not know those beetle things were in the game
Is this a worldwide release?
janimedude yes
source? Cant find anything about this
i don't think so.
The Reaper95 was desperately trying to avoid importing this. That sucks
That just sounds awful though. Regardless ill more than likely be getting both copies. But waiting an entire year to play this? No way.
EDF EDF EDF! ... now give us a western date please
Hahahahaha "fake-u news-u" LMAO
The fake news Joke Lmao
E-D-F! E-D-F! E-D-F

Would it be good if the massive robots could run and it just looks different and has 2 new attacks so not very good
Complaining about giant robots. What a sad life you lead.
