Fr when I started watching I was hesitant cause there were so many eps but as I approached the final eps I hoped they would add more😩

It's long for me with that kind of script writing 😢 the ones that made me watch till the end is only the casts..
writing down their names and clans do help, but i feel like you'll hear these names so much that you'll figure it out eventually
That's what happened to me I was so unbothered about the names that I didn't even realize when I knew everyone's names without even trying
China dubs, because they have lots of regional dialects. So they dub over standard mandarin, so everyone could understand.
Yes! It is also because the sets they use to film are very popular and so they are being used by multiple production companies (meaning that there is lots of noise hence the dub). It is also due to the amount of bugs, particularly cicadas, and wildlife in those areas too. :D
Also, I believe they used the same voice actors from the audio drama for the dub, which I thought was cool :)

i didn't realize it was dubbed until last year. kev is pretty observant lol. but yeah, c-dramas do a lot of dubbing to fit the standard mainland china dialect

Actually, Wangji is his courtesy name, you can see it as a public name. The name people out of his intimate/direct family can call him, apart from Second Young Master Lan. His brother, Xichen, calls him just Wangji cause it's less formal and it's quite intimate. But Lan Zhan is deeply intimate, since Lan Zhan is his birth name. Wei Wuxian is the only person who calls Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan. It's quite disrespectful to someone you barely know to call you by your birth name, but Lan Zhan never complained about Wei Wuxian calling him like that and, by time, they only treated each other by their birth names. Lan Zhan also calls Wei Wuxian, Wei Ying.
The audio dubbing isn't just because the original audio was bad. China likes having things be uniform and there are many different accents and dialects spoken in China, so they dub over to give everyone a standard accent or dialect.
I also love how Jiang Cheng calls Wei Wuxian Bisexual. "He's probably messing around with a Mianmian or Yuandao."
22:41 Noooo you got it wrong. These are all flashbacks to when wei wuxian was young. These are all in his thoughts. It's not like he went back to the past or something. He is really 15 years old in these scenes, the same as the other dudes. But yes, his cultivation level was higher than the others and he was the only one who could match with lan wangji's level. These 2 are the best cultivators among their generation.
Im so glad you guys are reacting to this masterpiece of a show trust me it will get better as it goes and when the shows done you'll wish there was more, still to this day my fav Cdrama

Yes! If they're already seeing budget-related weirdness in this one, maaaan, they are in for a treat with WOH. lol (I say that lovingly. They did the best they could with a budget consisting of two rocks and half a bag of Cheetos, and I still adore that show.)
@@amandas2639 LMAO. the budget showed itself a lot, especially at the end, with the sponsorship ads, the CGI/green screen stuff and the repeated use of the same set. but i will say this. I feel like Word of Honor has some freaking beautiful shots and cinematography. I think the outside scenes often look better than the Untamed bc something in the Untamed was off with the...... white balance? I don't know what it was, but the sky often looks very gray. It's kind of washed out. the Untamed is often very beautiful too,but just not outside when they're running around in the forest or by the river, idk.
I just feel like Word of Honor took their tiny little budget SOOOOO far, it's actually amazing.
@@specificsoup yeah WOH is a lot better in cinematography , like the scenes and dresses and all than in untamed.

I actually think it helps to think of the clans in the untamed like the nations in the Avatar. The Wen Clan of Qishan -Wen Ning/Ghost General's clan that wears red- is like the fire nation (Relatively evil and always greedy for more power)
The Jiang clan of Yunmeng/Lotus Pier - Wei Wuxian, Yanli, & Jiang Cheng's clan that wears blues and purples with the exception of Wuxian- is like the Water Tribe (Strong and efficient, main characters, but basically the ultimate victims).
The Lan Clan of Gusu - Lan Zhan's clan that wears white and blue- is like the Airbenders (Peaceful, powerful scholars, who have a higher knowledge of cultivation, hence the lectures to the other major clans nobelty).
The Jin Clan of Yangling- Yanli's betrothed Jin Zixuan's clan that wears gold- is a little different, I wouldn't compare them to a specific tribe, but they are like the richest of all the clans and kind of hold a power over them because of it. If the rest of the clans were kingdoms, the Jin clan would be like the empire.
And the Nie Clan of Qinghe -the warriors with the big ass swords and the clan of Nie Huaisang and Meng Yao- is like the Earth kingdom because that just makes sense to me. There are other clans mentioned throughout the show, but these are the most important. I hope that makes a little sense :)
I'd suggest you to watch 'Manner of death' if suspense thriller is your choice or 'Last twilight' if funny and wholesome drama is what u want with Andy. ('I feel you linger in the air' is another popular choice too)
You'll wish for more episodes once u get to the exiting parts. Been re-watching this for how many times now and still feels like the first time. So sad it's too impossible for Untamed to have a book 2 😢

in China they often voice over the actors with so called Voice actors because of how diverse China is. Not everyone, not even the actors can speak standard Mandarin. And with many accents, it will be hard for everyone, regardless from what place in China to understand. That's why many times you also have subtitles at the same time. There are some actors that use their own voices. Here in the Untamed is an actor who was not introduced yet.
i'm am soo enjoying this . Thanks a lot guys . at this point of time wei wuxian is just being wei wuxian while lan zhan who is used to being alone and superior is not happy with the fact that a random rulebreaker is able to match his ability of fighting.

Actually i also just started the drama.......I knew Xiao xhan from the drama Oath of Love and i really loved his acting....I found out that the Main leads sang that Ost so i listened it...That time i saw he sang for this drama too so i just listened it but the ost make me fall in love with this drama.... The ost begins with a flute version thats get me.......Watched 8 episodes and idknw I'm just repeating those episodes once again by watching yours reaction.... I don't want to forget these episodes 😭❤️..... Lang xhan and wei wuxan 💞
I love how the author wanted to show us the slow progression in their relationship.
In most of the films or series, couple just met and they’re already in love. Which is very unrealistic.
Because we could see how they developed their feelings for each other, we felt the genuineness. The two polar opposites but very alike.
It really developed our emotions with theirs. The way I fell for them, I never actually felt the same way for any other duo. I’m so emotionally attached to them that at one point, I didn’t want to watch any other series or movies by Yibo and Xiao, because I thought I’ll never be able to see the same Wangji and Wei Ying.
But then I realised how close friends they were in real life that I fell for them as well.
My heart tore apart when I heard about the scandal and other issues going on with them.
I felt like it’s not only Yibo and Xiao who were separated, but Lan Zhan and Wei Ying as well.
I hope they don’t have to wait for each other as long as Their roles did. They meet soon in front of other’s eyes and I get to see them smiling for each other again and listen to their fun talks. 🥹

Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece series. I wish you guys could upload 2 episodes per week, episodes are not that long usually less than an hour. Before I could blink my eye it’s already over and then it’s hard to wait a whole week. I’m just not a very patient person I finished all 50 eps in 5 days (Thank God it was holidays😂). the tea between Yanli and peacock is their parents arranged their marriage since they werw kids. ‘Peacock’ is from a massive and rich sect, and he saw Yanli as a.... not attractive and very basic. So he tried so hard to dismiss her every time they met each other, because he thinks Yanli and him don’t fit each other.

The reason why Wangji is so pressed about the rooftop fight is that he tied with wei wuxian and wwx never once unsheathed his sword, so wwx is potentially beter than lwj

There are so many dialects in China, so daubing it just the norm into standard Chinese so everyone can understand. It is an entire industry supporting and TV and film industry.
This drama gets better and better. Soon you'll get familiarised with the characters and then it'll be fun

My favorite line from this episode is Jiang Cheng saying that Wei Wuxian is probably having fun with some Mianmian or Yuandao right now. Made me think it’s a subtle joke about him being bi… (mianmian is a name for a woman, yuandao for a man, and there’s a whole pun about it that Wei Wuxian invoked earlier when he was joking / flirting with Mianmian. Not sure how much y’all got of that. The subs may have had some explanation, but it goes by so fast

Y'all gotta watch "WORD OF HONOR" next. The flirtiest guy in the whole world; Wen Ke Xing and his Ah-Xu. That is one of the best Chinese dramas out there. For me, the best one. I love "The Untamed" but "Word of honor" just has that charm on me. Trust me, you will love them. 😌
