Loving all the break downs of how different elements put together the complete package that is a particular board, Chris! Recently got a channel island weirdo ripper and I'm loving it. Haven't had any decent surf to truly try it out but in waist high waves it's fun as hell. Thanks for the channel, keep it up!
Great video! This show has come a long way from when I first started watching and Chris outdoes himself every episode but, for old times Chris, CAN YOU GIVE A BOARD A GOOD RUB DOWN?!?!?!?!?!?!
That Double Concave though!!! Waves are under 6 inches along the south coast of California which has had me on edge for the past 6 days. Glad you're still spreading the stoke. Looking forward to our swell this weekend!!! Ill be at Hammerland Near El Porto!
Hasn't been all that good here in Portugal, atleast in my local beach, Carcavelos. Hoping for some waves tomorrow. Keep on with these awesome videos Chris! Cheers from Portugal
You must be getting a lot of these but lets see some more of the new lost 2105 line up!! Your reviews are the best and make choosing boards so much easier!!
dude, you have the best show on you tube for sure. you certainly got the formula right and I'm pretty sure you got the volume right too... btw, going back to the Short Round LibTech version....I downsized actually and now have the 5'8 instead of the 5'10 and I'm about 6'2 and 185lbs....surfed the 5'8 today in chest to slightly overhead glass in 52 degree water while wearing a thick wetsuit and booties...fucking board GOES GOOD, paddles as good as the 5'10 too. you can't be afraid to stick to YOUR lower end on your volume calculator for these boards. float similar to PU still. felt the 5'10 had such a wide nose that you couldn't throw it around as much at my weight... carve big, and build the speed that I did on the 5'8. the deep single concave helps it stay above the water and nose helps get into waves, but it's not a groveller and it definitely didn't pearl when I was doing late drops on a steeper face. seems that it's better to not over volume on the Short Round. this thing works awesome for its intended purpose. ....just throwing that out there because it seems like there was some confusion on dialing in the volume on the LibTechs...I'm sold.
Great reviews, great episodes, great scrolling commentary beneath the video. I'd love to see your take on the Rusty Hustler - it's got the venturi bottom. Been spending time poring over Proctor's different models....seems you almost can't go wrong. Thanks, look forward to more!
A new one! Yes! Hope we see more shred shows this year! More power to you buddy! Have you heard of the Inflatable Mattress by Vampirate? Would love to hear your thoughts on that!
I've dreamed of a board like this. It is a perfect balance between my 6'0" Quite Flight for good waves and my 5'6" RV for when its a little weaker and mushy.
Hey im looking for a board to go with my Lost RV for when it gets too steep and i need more range when pumping. Do you think the Short round would be good?
I demo'd the cork model today. 5'6 and 26.7L of volume. I am a huge fan of the construction and the concept of how this board should be ridden, but as a female, the stock dimensions don't work. It was tough getting into waves compared to other shortboards I have, and I found the tail to be too drawn in causing it to bee too loose under my feet. I even rode it as a thruster thinking it would be more stable for me (I usually ride quads). The one smaller wave I took off on I found the board (for me) to hold better, but stall quickly. I am more of a back footed surfer and there wasn't a lot of wave to really get pumping.
Looks like a nice daily driver for Southern California, interesting no vee out the back for such a wide board, I would love to see a review if the lost puddle jumper
Shred Show! Have been absolutely loving your videos! They've been super informative as I've been researching purchasing a new board. I'm a fairly new surfer (1.5 years) but am looking to transition into a shorter board and expand my range. I live in south florida and mostly surf choppy windswell, although we do get bigger swell on occasion. I'm currently riding an old 7'6" O'neill board. The rest of the dimensions are faded so it's difficult to say, but it's a fairly narrow board (probably like 19" or 20"). It's got a moderate amount of rocker in the nose, and catches waves and is fast down the line with decent maneuverability. But I'm looking for a shorter board that gives me a bit of a more dynamic ride without sacrificing volume. I've been eyeing the short round as a good option but I wanted to here your thoughts. I'm 6'0", 160 lbs, beginner/intermediate surfer. I was looking at the 5'11". Thanks!
Such a great board. I have no idea how Shaw gets that thing moving when its smaller though. It definitely seems to like the waves to have a bit of punch to them. When the waves do have some power it lights up and is really fast.
Agree, I really like this board. Thing about Shaw is is center of gravity is super low so he can shove it around and get it flowing even when waves are non-existent.
hey shred show, I believe there is a Lib tech version of this board if I'm not mistaken. I'm trying to decide between the puddle jumper or the short round. I live in New Jersey and we get 2-3 foot all summer but we get some real surf in the winter. any thoughts?
did you go for the short round? thoughts? I'm 6'2 and my go to board is a 5'10....I make it work in mush and good waves. figured that's what short round would accomplish in lib tech. always looking for the best all arounder. interested to know what you went with.
hey man, first of all great video and review!, no question your reviews are the best in the internet, nothing compares to them! I would really appreciate it if you could give me some advice! So what I need is a board that would work well in all conditions in waves ranging from half a meter to 2.5 meters (about 1 foot to 8) This board therefore has to paddle well and also be very maneuverable, I'm 1.81 meters tall (not really sure if thats 5'10 or 5'11) and weigh about 68 kg (150 lbs) and my skill level is between intermediate and advanced (more gearing towards advanced) however here is the catch: the smaller board I have ever surfed is 6'3 since most of my skill I gained from longboarding 4 years straight, right now im surfing a 6'7 x 19.5 x 2.5 (no idea whats the volume) but that is my big wave board (over 8ft) so it's really hard to maneuver and go through flat spots with it. I was thinking the best choice was the Weirdo ripper and I'm thinking about 30 liters of volume so that would mean either the 5'8 or the 5'9, but I'm worried it'd be to small but if I go bigger I'm worried it' be to big and no longer maneuverable, so what size do you recommend or if you recommend any other board in the CI line (it has to be a CI since I can get a better price) and what specs! thanks very much in advanced! P.S. also what fin setup do you think would work well (with the weirdo or any you recommend) I was thinking a quad with knubster? P.P.S. do you think you could do a review on the FCS K2.1 V-2 Performance Core Tri-Quad set + knubster? I've heard it's the best fins so I'd love to know what you have to say! (and make more fins videos, we love them!!) Again, Thanks for everything!
***** You probably already know that what you're asking for is a really tall order.. If someone says they've got one board for 2 to 6 foot waves, I'm skeptical. If they say 1 to 8 foot waves I usually don't believe them. The closest thing I know of is a McCoy All Round Nugget. You'd surf it around 5'11 and 37 liters of volume. Preferably made of PU/Poly. The volume and size will help in the 2 foot waves. The concaves will help control speed in the 8 foot waves (they're rounded, really interesting) and the weight of the PU/Poly will feel stable, controlled and rail-worty when waves have power (BTW, Don't apply this over-inflated volume to other boards you look at. It's unique to the shape of the McCoy)..... If you force me further and say it has to be something more traditional, then the shape you're looking for is similar to a Hypto Krypto or Disk 2 by Chemistry. Lots of width forward with a pin-ish/rounded tail. If it absolutely has to be a Weirdo Ripper you've actually picked the closest thing in CI's line to what might conceivably work in all those conditions while still being a shortboard and not a funboard (Waterhog for example, but that would likely feel pretty out of control in 8 foot waves). If you go Weirdo Ripper, err on the side of 5'9 instead of 5'8, because the extra float will help in 2 foot waves which are generally way more common than 8 foot waves, no matter where you are in the world if you view things over an average year of swell.
Shred Show thanks for your help, the guy at the store actually told me to buy the 5'7 weirdo since it'd be the perfect size and unfortunately i did, I feel like it's a bit to small despite the width and volume and I feel like i should have not listened to him and gone for the 5'8 I know face 2 options, try to sell it before using it again and try to get a good price for it so i can afford another one, i mean the board on the water on the wave feels alright but paddling and sitting on it feels so weird but it's standing up that really bothers me and feels uncomfortable, im 5'11 so laying down on it feels like i simply don't fit, but im not sure if maybe I should just keep it, Im really interested in the new flyer at about 5'10 with plus dims or the 5'11 standard, feel like it'd be perfect but still not sure what to do, i've only used it 3 times so maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it, maybe you can give me some advice in what to do? im so stuck right now! do you think the flyer is a good idea?
Shred Show btw i surfed the weirdo in some powerful 2 meter waves and felt alright on the wave but again, so hard getting into the waves and standing up on steep drops seemes impossible with such small board, bit better on smaller weaker waves but when it got to week it got hard to get into the waves and stay on them.
Hi , I love your show, it's very educative for dude like me, I'm in conflict, my daily board is a pyzel slab 6.2 34.7lt, I don't know if I buy a 5.11 with 34lt or a 6.0 with 35.6 carbon wrap, I'll use the short round as summer board I'm in doubt because everybody say that carbon warp flouted more than PU, so should I buy a a 5.11 with 34lt or a 6.0 with 35.6? Thanks Tramm
that board has a little less hip in the tail than a Roberts "Anything"...A truly versatile board...i ride the Anything with almost the same dims as the one you use in this vid...ive had it in well over head surf this winter. I ALMOST wish i had ordered one with a round or rounded pin tail...Robert's surfboards use a bit better glass too...nice guy too. He came to the East coast a little while ago. I love pretty much every board ive owned from Robert Weiner....good review tho.
I gotta say, I too miss starting the vid's by giving the board a good rub down. #bringbacktherub Even so, this is another excellent installment of Shred Show. I can't afford to run out and buy every board I like, but each show makes me look at the boards I do have a little differently and helps me understand why they behave the way they do in the water. Not to mention I'm a much more knowledgeable buyer now. Chris, you're racking up lots of good Karma with each video.
not about this board, just a general question. how does a Super Brand Vapor perform in mush waves, like knee to waist high? would it be better to get a fling or a vapor, it has an all around shape to it but i don't really know and figured you would. Thanks!
Tyler Starks I just ordered it at 5'9" 30L, hoping i got the right size for this board. If you dont mind whats your height and weight? Im 6'3 155lbs, i think my low weight might let me get away with a bit shorter, not sure.
Tyler Starks Hey mate, I'm same weight as you and thinking of getting the 5'10 as well. Does it grovel well in shitty waves or do you need more of a wave to take off with the size you got ? It would be my summer board.
Hi Chis, I'm going to Kauai this summer and right now I own an mtf altered and a hypto Kripto and I'm not sure if I'm gona be able to bring both which one do you think I should bring?
Hi Mate! Happy New year and congrats on the progress of your channel. Great effort. The lost Short round looks ideal! I was just curious as to what fin setup you run in it? Thruster or Quad and if Quad what set would you recommend. Thanks in advance mate, i am sure you are pretty busy these days! Cheers Ryan yeeew
Ryan James Thank you Ryan! I like how a quad + nubster feels in this board regardless of conditions. Shaw sets it up as a quad in small waves and adds a nubster when it gets bigger to add hold and more of a tracking sensation with less slide.
Sick video, getting better every time. Pleas keep them up, although they fire up the hunger to buy new boards I can't afford. Aside the deep single concave is this board similar to the El Loco from Pukas' Axel Lorentz but just a tiny bit shortboardier?
Hey, I am thinking of getting this board but I really don't know what size is good for me. I am 5,10 150lb. I surf Sebastian Inlet in Florida and want step down from my short board. I surf waves from 2-6ft. I think I want the 5,7 but I'm not sure. What size do you think?
Hi, I'm look to upgrade to a shortboard/funboard from my 7'0 mini mal, I surf in Cromer in England, waves can reach up to 4 foot and nothing much bigger. I'm around 70kg and 5'11, what dimensions would you recommend? Would this board be the right choice or would you suggest something else? Thanks
I'm 155lbs 6'3, just ordered a 5'9 at 30L. I've found my sweet spot to be around 30L, which is a little more than the charts say for my weight. As long as the board doesnt feel boaty and is still manuverable, youre ok. For the waves you surf, you want a little extra foam, especially for when it gets cold and you're suited up. I'd say 5'9 or 5'10 would be ok for you. I would also suggest checking out the original ci pod in 5'10 or possibly the new pod mod a bit shorter. Extremely fun and forgiving shortboard in small gutless waves. Anyways, hope this helps you out, good luck.
Hey man great video i've share it with all my friends!! Quick question, I'm 183 cm i think its 6.0, I'm debating between short round puddle jumper and bottom feeder... at the moment i have 5,10 28L my level skills is advance ....all of them are great boards and i've surfed on the Bottom feeder which i liked.the wave here between 2- 6 ft ..... which model do you think will be good for me ?
Hey Chris, I'm looking to buy a new board and not quite sure what I should get. I'm a intrrmediate surfer and I'm 5'11 145. The waves I surf typically range from 1-5 ft and mushy. I'm looking at the lost short round, lost puddle jumper and the FireWire almond butter. I especially like the lost short round but don't know what dims I would get. Are the waves I'm surfing too weak for this board to be good in? And if you have a board that you think would be good for me I would love your input.
+Kevin Casoli im 6.3 176 lbs and have the 6.2 short round . I'm at the early intermediate stage and find this size perfect for me. i think you'll be fine with the 6.2
Nice tail but the nose is too wide for waves with a bit more punch and size. One of the lost dealers told me it likes waves with a bit more push compared to say the puddle jumper. Pull the nose in a touch and it'd be the go for me
Can you do a review on "Move or Die" Surfboards ? He is from San Clemente CA and has a pretty strong cult following here in So Cal. He has a Facebook page if you would like to check it out.
very nice but this guy speak so quiclky all the world ,all the lenguages wants to know about lost surfboards ..i think he needs to speak more slow and go to gain more followers in this channel thanks.....
Hey Chris....Just loving how much my wife laughs at me laughing at your show. Mate , good work. I even think your whistling managed to annoy her.
Truth. My girlfriend can't stand the way I whistle.
Bryan, THANK YOU! for watching so long. I'll bring back a rub soon.
That Double Concave though!!! Waves are under 6 inches along the south coast of California which has had me on edge for the past 6 days. Glad you're still spreading the stoke. Looking forward to our swell this weekend!!! Ill be at Hammerland Near El Porto!

Hey just wanted to say been surfing for a year now and love your videos they help so much and am saving up to purchase a lost short round next year 😉
Great reviews, great episodes, great scrolling commentary beneath the video. I'd love to see your take on the Rusty Hustler - it's got the venturi bottom. Been spending time poring over Proctor's different models....seems you almost can't go wrong. Thanks, look forward to more!
Yeeew!! First of, Happy New Year Chris!!! Not too much for the first of summer here in Sydney. Sick edit at the end btw!!!
That shape looks so sick !! Love the show dude keep it coming
Gregory Cicero Thanks Greg. Always notice you in the comments.
A new one! Yes! Hope we see more shred shows this year! More power to you buddy!
Have you heard of the Inflatable Mattress by Vampirate? Would love to hear your thoughts on that!
I live and Surf in New Zealand! Had a sick surf today at a place called O'Neills bay on the west coast of Auckland. Love the channel man
TheNsNZ Thank you! Stoked you're getting waves.
I've dreamed of a board like this. It is a perfect balance between my 6'0" Quite Flight for good waves and my 5'6" RV for when its a little weaker and mushy.

Great video like always...been waiting weeks for a new vid

Shred Show Yeah thats true, gives him a distinct style too. Really enjoy watching him surf.
how is this different to the V2 Stub?
Hell yes it's been cold in SD ! Mid 50's for the highs #SocalSpoiled
FUCKING LOVE THIS CHANNEL
So happy to read this. Thank you. Cooper-Pouse
Good video bro. If you can do a review on the lost F1 stub. Coolest and snappiest board ever.
hey shred show, I believe there is a Lib tech version of this board if I'm not mistaken. I'm trying to decide between the puddle jumper or the short round. I live in New Jersey and we get 2-3 foot all summer but we get some real surf in the winter. any thoughts?
exactly what I'm deciding on....in NY
did you go for the short round? thoughts? I'm 6'2 and my go to board is a 5'10....I make it work in mush and good waves. figured that's what short round would accomplish in lib tech. always looking for the best all arounder. interested to know what you went with.
Mike Beck curious what you decided on....I have the exact same dilemma. Also in NJ
waves are gonna be nice here in jax beach fl
i reckon this board would go sick with this outline but just narrow it a little. You can see its width bogging it

I don't know if you have reviewed this board but if so please review the Channel Islands neckbeard looking into getting one
can you review The slab from Pyzel?
Hey man, can you do the zephyr ? The shaper is vessel, would be stoked if you did
that thing looks super fun! you should do an episode on the bottomfeeder!
Hi man, i really love your show and i would be really glad if you can get a review on the Pyzel Bastard, the Cordell ct2 and 2.5 or Clayton dredger.
Which one catch more waves in smaller days? Short round or quiver killer. I am between those 2 and surf 1-5 feet max
Chris, flat inside foil or convex inside foil for rear quads on the Short Round??

Just got this beast, works like a charm in the PNW. 5'10" 32.3 L
Tyler Starks
I just ordered it at 5'9" 30L, hoping i got the right size for this board. If you dont mind whats your height and weight?
Im 6'3 155lbs, i think my low weight might let me get away with a bit shorter, not sure.
6'2'' 185, no worries I think youll be fine.
Tyler Starks thanks man, hope you're right
Tyler Starks Hey mate, I'm same weight as you and thinking of getting the 5'10 as well. Does it grovel well in shitty waves or do you need more of a wave to take off with the size you got ? It would be my summer board.
I have been using it all summer great grovler man. Surfed alot of knee high mush like a charm
Torn between this and the Unit by Super for my "tweener" (5'6" Pod for grovel, 5'11" Rubble for proper). Any reviews on the Unit yet?
Hi Chis, I'm going to Kauai this summer and right now I own an mtf altered and a hypto Kripto and I'm not sure if I'm gona be able to bring both which one do you think I should bring?
South florida actually got some ankle slappers and it's 80 degrees
Hi Chris, What fins do you recommend for this board? Currently using FCS II Carver neo glass but looking at getting anew set.
Hi Mate!
Happy New year and congrats on the progress of your channel. Great effort.
The lost Short round looks ideal! I was just curious as to what fin setup you run in it? Thruster or Quad and if Quad what set would you recommend.
Thanks in advance mate, i am sure you are pretty busy these days!
Cheers Ryan
yeeew
Ryan James Thank you Ryan! I like how a quad + nubster feels in this board regardless of conditions. Shaw sets it up as a quad in small waves and adds a nubster when it gets bigger to add hold and more of a tracking sensation with less slide.
Hey man I love your videos would you be able to do a review on a agenda board they are made in New Zealand :)
Hey! What type of fins would you recommend for this board?
i would like to see the dominator reviewed. Its supposed to be the best Firewire board...?
Sick video, getting better every time. Pleas keep them up, although they fire up the hunger to buy new boards I can't afford.
Aside the deep single concave is this board similar to the El Loco from Pukas' Axel Lorentz but just a tiny bit shortboardier?
nice review. i am 6 feet and 170 lbs, what measurements do you think would work the best for me on this board?
Hey, I am thinking of getting this board but I really don't know what size is good for me. I am 5,10 150lb. I surf Sebastian Inlet in Florida and want step down from my short board. I surf waves from 2-6ft. I think I want the 5,7 but I'm not sure. What size do you think?
Hi,
I'm look to upgrade to a shortboard/funboard from my 7'0 mini mal,
I surf in Cromer in England, waves can reach up to 4 foot and nothing much bigger.
Anyways, hope this helps you out, good luck.
board flip ON POINT
Thanks for the show man, could you do a review on The Sprout by Mark Wisdom?
Can you do some reviews on JS boards? They seem to becoming a lot more popular. THANKS

oh sorry I'm 6.0 and 165 ... thanks man really appreciate your help and time
Do a review of the Heater model from Carrozza!
And this would be my kinda summer board
THANKS for your help
Another great review.

Great Show! New Subscriber here, how about a Timmy Patterson board? Maybe the "small wave assassin".
Looks like a fun all around ride. Nice shit. Thanks for pronouncing Matt's last name. Shaw kills it. Makes me want to surf right now.
what part of San Diego are you from?
Hey guys ! do you think its interresting for me to choose this board in 6’2″ 21.25″ 2.65″ 38.45 , i'm 6'2 and 195 lbs and intermediate for my level?
+Kevin Casoli im 6.3 176 lbs and have the 6.2 short round . I'm at the early intermediate stage and find this size perfect for me. i think you'll be fine with the 6.2
thx mate
what's Shaw's weight please?
im 5'1 88 pounds. Size recommendation?
do the Psychedelic Germ by Hayden Shapes PLEASE!
Good one.
Nice tail but the nose is too wide for waves with a bit more punch and size. One of the lost dealers told me it likes waves with a bit more push compared to say the puddle jumper. Pull the nose in a touch and it'd be the go for me
mate can u do something about the sound on ur video i could barley hear u
California is a lake right now
that ending!
Dose anyone know if the lib tech Version of this board differ much ?
Please do the new "High 5" by CI. Anything CI please, pretty please, pretty pretty please. Thank you in advance good sir!
would it be good for summer small waves
You could likely make it work, but not nearly as easily as a Bean Bag.
Hey Chris, could you do the super fling for my birthday?
-jake
