You should do a "How I'd do my high school make up now" video where you take your high school look as inspiration, but try to alter it/change it to fit today's standards. I feel like it would be super interesting to see the before and after!
It's so crazy watching all of these beauty gurus doing their makeup from high school and I've been wearing a full face of makeup since 8th grade. So crazy how times have changed
But the real question is, did you know how to apply it properly then? Because part of it is to also show how you applied things wrong and such. I do agree, though, I feel like society is much more pressuring to young girls so they feel like they have to wear makeup once they hit middle school. It's quite sad, honestly, because it's affecting a lot of girls self-esteem because they think from so young that they're only pretty with makeup.
In Asia (where I came from), we are not allowed to put on ANY makeup on, dye our hair, and guys cannot use hair gel or any stylish haircut. Also, we need to wear school uniform everyday and some school might even only allows you to wear black glasses/hair band/school bag.

I went to a Catholic school and they didn't even allow any colors for hair ties other than blue, black, brown, or white. Girls can't get pixie cuts and guys can't have hair longer than 2 inches. It's crazy. I only learned makeup when I was 18, about two years in uni and even then I still feel people would reprimand me for wearing makeup.
I used to do half my eyelid gold and half black and think it's a smokey eye lmao!!!! And I remember my fellow clueless friends complimenting me on my skills 😷 I wish you included pictures in this video!!!!

I think she's frustrated because there are some older videos where she included/talked about Danny and so many people left horrible comments (mostly "he looks like her dad" etc) and she understandably doesn't want to deal with that crap anymore.

I'm a sophomore too and I only ever wear bb cream, mascara, and lip balm hahaha. I just don't really have time in the morning to do a full face and I don't think I'd like how it felt on my skin.
I wear a crap ton of makeup to school cause I want to- no one tells me too but I feel like I stick out more than girls wearing nothing. idk maybe that's just my school but I feel like people judge others who wear noticeable makeup. idk but that's just me! :)
That's awesome girl, keep it up! I piled on the foundation using mostly CG which I have found breaks me out and is probably part of the reason my skin was so bad! My best advice is get a good skin care routine now!

I practically wore pajamas so I didn't usually have issues haha I had to be dragged out of bed too so I never actually had time to get ready EVER. I did used to go to a private school when I was younger and the idea of uniforms really was great!
high school makeup for me consisted of Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation, Maybelline The Falsies mascara, Mac Lip Glass in some light pink colour that was too light and Wet & Wild black eye pencil in my water line.

I started "wearing" makeup when I was 12,right in the first day of secundaria (which here in the US is middle school) and I only used powder,black eyeliner in my waterline (which that was back in 2007 when the Emo trend was in so people thought I was Emo,I promise I wasn't lol) and mascara only on my upper lashes cause I didn't know that we'll ever wear mascara on the lower lashes LOL,and sometimes I used to wear a gloss but just when I felt like it 😂
My makeup evolved extremely quickly in the year I was 12. I went from wearing brown mascara and a little bit of brown eyeliner with lip balm to wearing eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, mascara, foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, highlight and a light contour to get rid of my jawline. I was 12 extremely recently but I'm no longer. I don't know how it changed so much but I guess the pressures of high school with everyone wearing so much makeup around me and getting told that I should do it made me kind of want to do it.

I totally agree with the "beauty comes from within" statement and that you don't really need makeup to be a beautiful person. I like makeup for creativity/artistic purposes plus it gives me a boost of confidence. It's just fun too! :D
I love this so much hahaha! In high school I only used 4 products too: falsies mascara, purple ulta brand eyeshadow (applied with the sponge-tipped applicator that comes with it), a little covergirl face powder, and lip gloss. Hahahaha if my younger self could see me now...

Mac is life my first high end brand I ever bought and still my holy grail. Just have a obsession with them I guess lol. Just wish they were cruelty free
I swear Mac is so many people's first high end product lol. My first high end product (um...I was 25 and I'm 27 now lol) and it was Mac's Pro Longwear concealer 😏 Now, Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer is my fave and I have way more high end products lol. I blame Mac for getting me curious about high end makeup!

Miss Pacino Lol I have no regrets. The Pro Longwear is definitely still a fave but it creases on me. The Shape Tape concealer is the only one I have found that doesn't. These younger kids don't know how good they have it with the help of TH-cam beauty gurus lol
I actually used to wear so much more makeup in high school. Foundation EVERY day, eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara. Now, I use concealer when/if I need it (I haven't used foundation in years), mascara and brows and I'm done. I feel like I'm the only one who wears less as I get older.

Wore the horrible HORRIBLE Covergirl "Clean" makeup that smelled like acne, was two shades too dark, probably was the reason I had so many skin problems as a 14-17 year old and spilled all over my dresser and always left stains on my neckline. UGH. HOW. WHY
I literally didn't get into makeup until the very end of my senior year and I knew nothing. so I got discouraged and I just watched youtube videos for an extra year before I started to get into it. now I have more boxes of makeup than I do clothing that I need to unpack lol
I'm saying I'm 15 and I'm in high school and I love wearing makeup but I don't wear a full face. I just wear eyeliner, used to wear mascara, concealer powder and blush. Almost every girl wears fake eyelashes and I don't think they need fake lashes in high school.
Also my dream is to have my own cosmetics line and become a professional makeup artist. My dad doesn't think I can make a career out of it but it's what I love.

I was in high school more then 20 years ago. I wore foundation that matched perfectly only cause I learned proper way to match it. The rest of my makeup was scary -- BLUE eyeshadow (i have very bright blue eyes), not the right mascara, and way too dark cheek color. The eyeshadow I was made fun of by so called friends, and boy that end up later being hubby hated it LOL. Too bad NO one had balls to tell me to my face!!! Haha interesting memories.
Thinking back my freshmen year (which they don't have anymore.. I don't even think a lot of people will remember this.. Not sure if you will either. I'm a bit older but...) Caboodles (the makeup cases) they used to have makeup!! I LOVED their creamy eyeshadows. I tried rocking that all over my entire lid! (even my brow bone! 😂) I didn't even care it creased on me. LOL. I remember a royal blue that I loved soooo much!! Now I just cringe when I think about it... And the roller lipglosses... I loved those LOL. Girl same thing over here! I can remember using the maybelline trios with the shimmery shade all the way up to the brow and frosty pink lipstick but can't remember much else. I'm pretty sure it changed within the four years too as I got older

Life becomes stressful and the things you enjoy may not do much for you anymore. It's important that you find a way to reconnect with what you love. Play around with makeup. Do looks you probably wouldn't normally do. Switch it up!
No need to thank me! Don't force yourself to do makeup then hon. Focus on doing other stuff! (taking a walk in the park, painting, etc) It will help you to reconnect with yourself and your emotions.

We technically weren't allowed to wear make up to school. But people did anyway. I got in trouble one day for my eyeliner being too heavy...but I was emo and didn't know how to apply it properly haha so it wasn't on purpose lol

I definitely remember Shimmering Sands eyeshadow, a pink Covergirl blush, and lots of bonniebell lipgloss Haha!! My mom did sell Mary Kay for a short time, so I did like playing with that. lol I was just thinking that, it defiantly helped with my eye liner tricks however haha 😂😂 . It took me 45 minutes to do my hair every day so it would be teased perfectly then about another hour to do my make up and make sure it was all okay, even though it wasnt lol Line stillito eyeliner was my best freind.

Kylie Kay a Cuban person is someone who is from Cuba or has Cuban descent, whereas Hispanic just means of Spanish speaking origin. All Cubans are hispanics but not all hispanics are Cuban. Hope this helped :)

I wear a crap ton of makeup to school cause I want to- no one tells me too but I feel like I stick out more than girls wearing nothing. idk maybe that's just my school but I feel like people judge others who wear noticeable makeup. idk but that's just me! :)
That's awesome girl, keep it up! I piled on the foundation using mostly CG which I have found breaks me out and is probably part of the reason my skin was so bad! My best advice is get a good skin care routine now!

I started "wearing" makeup when I was 12,right in the first day of secundaria (which here in the US is middle school) and I only used powder,black eyeliner in my waterline (which that was back in 2007 when the Emo trend was in so people thought I was Emo,I promise I wasn't lol) and mascara only on my upper lashes cause I didn't know that we'll ever wear mascara on the lower lashes LOL,and sometimes I used to wear a gloss but just when I felt like it 😂
And my mom also used to gave me her mascaras hahaha
My makeup evolved extremely quickly in the year I was 12. I went from wearing brown mascara and a little bit of brown eyeliner with lip balm to wearing eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, mascara, foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, highlight and a light contour to get rid of my jawline. I was 12 extremely recently but I'm no longer. I don't know how it changed so much but I guess the pressures of high school with everyone wearing so much makeup around me and getting told that I should do it made me kind of want to do it.

I totally agree with the "beauty comes from within" statement and that you don't really need makeup to be a beautiful person. I like makeup for creativity/artistic purposes plus it gives me a boost of confidence. It's just fun too! :D
I love this so much hahaha! In high school I only used 4 products too: falsies mascara, purple ulta brand eyeshadow (applied with the sponge-tipped applicator that comes with it), a little covergirl face powder, and lip gloss. Hahahaha if my younger self could see me now...

I actually used to wear so much more makeup in high school. Foundation EVERY day, eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara. Now, I use concealer when/if I need it (I haven't used foundation in years), mascara and brows and I'm done. I feel like I'm the only one who wears less as I get older.

I was in high school more then 20 years ago. I wore foundation that matched perfectly only cause I learned proper way to match it. The rest of my makeup was scary -- BLUE eyeshadow (i have very bright blue eyes), not the right mascara, and way too dark cheek color. The eyeshadow I was made fun of by so called friends, and boy that end up later being hubby hated it LOL. Too bad NO one had balls to tell me to my face!!! Haha interesting memories.
Thinking back my freshmen year (which they don't have anymore.. I don't even think a lot of people will remember this.. Not sure if you will either. I'm a bit older but...) Caboodles (the makeup cases) they used to have makeup!! I LOVED their creamy eyeshadows. I tried rocking that all over my entire lid! (even my brow bone! 😂) I didn't even care it creased on me. LOL. I remember a royal blue that I loved soooo much!! Now I just cringe when I think about it... And the roller lipglosses... I loved those LOL. Since they don't sell those anymore it would be hard to do but wow it brings back memories!!! Honestly, Kathleen, this was a great video and loved this chit chat!!!!

Life becomes stressful and the things you enjoy may not do much for you anymore. It's important that you find a way to reconnect with what you love. Play around with makeup. Do looks you probably wouldn't normally do. Switch it up!
