i went out to lake Calhoun today and caught 17 bluegill right off the shore. most as big as those. I also caught a decent large mouth. I was using a baby cast master. it works excellent because the hook is directly in the back of the lure right where they strike. also if i were you i would pick up one of those micro rods and reels, it makes these little guys feel like monsters. Cool video !
The largest bluegill I have EVER caught was when I was a little kid. It was on a #6 black panther martin with yellow spots. It was 10 3/4 inches long by 7 3/4 inches from belly to dorsal
You don't "keep the big ones" they are the breeders....it is people like you that leave the rest of us with stunted panfish....better read up on your facts.
Great video Joshua. Not being negative but just wondering what the theory is on pulling all these big male of the beds-does it endanger the nest or open it up more to predators? Panfishing is my favorite I just need to get out more to find better spots and learn some more that will put more in my bucket. Thanks-James
great videos, keep up the good work. There's no telling how many times I have watched the same video's over and over. On your electronics, what are you looking for to locate them. Thank you
great video good to see someone who fishes for something other then just bass I grew up fishing for gills still love going gill fishin bass are fun to catch but I like fishin for pike the most second favorite carp and cats the panfish then trout its hard to beat a relaxing day fishin for gills and sunnies I subbed
Not to be insulting but do you understand how bluegill fisheries work. You are never supposed to keep the bigger bluegills in a system it stunts the size of the population. There should be a slot limit size on bluegills from 7-9 1/2 inches. All bigger than that should be released. I encourage you to do some research on that. Yeah those 10+ inchers are fun to catch but throw them back.
Well, if you leave the smaller ones then it gives them a better chance to multiply and then some day the smaller catch will turn out to be the bigger catch.
Fun video with great tips and tricks 🎣😀

My favorite fishing is sculling along the banks of a lake or river fly fishing with popping bugs or foam spiders under overhanging limbs.

There's something on his back
Nvm not Washington
get you're limit leave clean and eat
Keeping the bigger ones and letting the smaller ones go won't help the fishery. You have to do the opposite.
Well, if you leave the smaller ones then it gives them a better chance to multiply and then some day the smaller catch will turn out to be the bigger catch.
Big sunfish have the genes to become big. That's the fish you want reproducing to keep the size structure up.
Okay bassman, go talk to a fisheries biologist and we'll see who is right.
Absolutely love your videos. So glad to see some new fishing ones.
This got me hype to fish some gills this weekend!!
Thanks for the support all!
