One quick tip for packing it up: if you turn the rubber feet of the ballast towards the barn doors, there will be much less scratching on both. An owner/op I work with sometimes asked me to do that with his gear.

Got tinitus from one of these bulbs popping.
They produce great light, but changing attachments sucks, especially after kicking around a rental house for a few years. They always seem to be Allen key or Philips head- making it a tedious task
There seem to be two kinds of lights, those made by actual technicians and those made by engineers. It feels like lights like Briese's and Jokers haven't been made by people that have to use them.

Touching a joker with your bare hands is something you will only do once. I've worked with the joker 800 and 400 multiple times but i never really understood what lens did what, so thanks for teaching me something new!

Episode idea(s): Talk about how to get into the industry as a grip or electric? I think that this would really helpful and could be a several episode series? Keep up the awesome videos though! Definitely my favorite film production related channel!

Thanks for the video Dave, super informative as always! I binge watched almost all of the episodes a few weeks ago - great stuff. I second the other comment, looking forward to seeing you talk about the 300D haha. Wishing you the best in the new year!

Don't forget to mention (in part 2) how K5600 cases can stack and lock onto each other :-)

@@etentertainment4157 I would partially agree... The 120D II are now pretty close to the 300D power making the 300D to expensive in my view. I got 1x120D II and 2x300D and damn the 300D make noise with the wall power supply !!! Really badly design power supply. If you want great low cost LED light, go with the Godox SL-60 ! A bit less powerful than the 120D II that I have, but have integrated power supply which doesn't make that much noise compare to the 120D, and they are SUPER CHEAP (Compare to Aputure). Godox SL-200 exist as well which is much more powerful but I never tried them. I do have a SL-60 and it work great ! I can buy 6 Godox SL-60 for the price of 1 Aputure 120D II ! You do have a remote as well with the Godox with different channel. Work a bit differently than the Aputure which have Plus or negative. You cannot power the Godox light with V-Mount batteries though...

Marc Olivier Chouinard I have an SL-200 and it beats the 300d any day, esp for best value. When used, cut and shaped properly. Aputure is a hipster, mainstream brand hyped up by kids who don't know sh** about lighting fundamentals thru the power of fresnels. As a gaffer, I want FULL CONTROL of my light. The aputure garbage is not only uncontrollable but it comes at a ridiculous price
