      youngnutsack17 *From a comment above - Hi he starts off with some oil and fresh coriander leaves,then the egg and green chillies finely chopped.then comes red chilly powder generous sprinkle:) and salt and turmeric,not sure if he added any garam masala at all:)Then the dinner rolls and again some salt on top.
      Typically one of the easiest ways to do a masala omelette is by adding finely chopped onions,green chillies coriander and a pinch salt into two nicely beaten eggs with some milk and cook it like you would usually do:)Sometimes people add tomatoes and you may add bacon ,cheddar or even cottage cheese etc at this point. (at spices at your own risk :) )

    Sad to me, to see so many people criticizing a culture that is different from their own. We, in America, are the heaviest nation (myself included) and have no right to look down on any practice elsewhere. People are starving and would give anything to have this wonderful food before them. Thank you for the video.

    1. oil 2. coriander (substitute by cilantro/parsley?) 3. egg 4. chopped green chillies 5. sprinkle ? crushed pepper or salt 6. red chilli powder 7. more red chilli powder !!! 8. probably turmeric or mustard paste (dint know we use mustard sauce in street food) 9. paav breads 10. salt again 11. chilli powder again (will need fire extinguisher probably) 11. yellow whatever again 12. allow to set then flip and press down 13. flip, fold slice and serve with chopped onions

    I'm Indian and I wanna give you some advice/criticism.
    I've been to other countries and I've seen their ways. And from that I can say the following:
    Foreigners like Indian food. They like its variety, taste, healthy ingredients and its nature on the whole. What they don't like is part of the way it's prepared. In their daily lives, they take great care to use hand sanitizers, to wash their hands whenever possible and to clean their keyboards with anti bacterial stuff and so on.
    Even in Restaurants it's a Federal law for Cooks and employees of that restaurant to wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and hot water whenever they go back to work after bathroom break. They use gloves when touching food and for each customer they serve, they change them with new ones.
    This is the kind of hygiene they are used to. When they look at how Indian food is prepared, even for me, its a little scary. Nobody knows when the last time the cook washed his hands was. Nobody knows where he kept his fingers the last time and what he touched, and so on. The cook in another video was not covering his mouth when coughing even as he is cooking a dish in front of him.
    One might argue that the heat in the frying pan kills any bacteria and so on, but when you don't follow a set protocol and you defend yourself with an excuse, you definitely invite criticism.
    The day a protocol is followed by all street vendors in India is the day when Indian street food truly shines in its rightful glory.

      its 20 odd rupees !

    • @charlieking100
      @charlieking100 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      At least don't touch them with bare hands, use polythene gloves, its dead cheap. 1 serving gives him 20 rupees, but 20 rupees would buy him medical gloves , 50 of them. That's not too bad is it?

    funny, that sandwich was probably only a couple bucks, while in America, street food is expensive because it has become "hip" and sometimes considered "gourmet" in some cities.

      Yes.. but don't forget in America - there are licenses, regulations, food inspection costs and costs to setup and operate on the street.... I'll gladly pay $15 for a taco if said taco is tasty and safe to eat... rather than spending a day on the toilet...

    • @juliannevillecorrea
      @juliannevillecorrea  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      i see him prepare right under my nose ..im actually inspecting him :) , im satisfied .. on the other hand i've seen many videos where the cooks do crazy things to the food like spit in it behind closed doors in the kitchen in fancy eating houses .. i eat street food a lot and the only rule i follow is i always make sure the ingredients are fresh ..the fancy restaurants always freeze their meats and perishables where as the street food guys guys here cannot afford refrigeration so im always safe from the deadly infectious stuff ..

    • @pesto12601

      Less perhaps but still substantial fees.. from parking permits to state/town/city license fees. Then, there is truck repair costs, equipment fees... you can't just roll a truck up to a corner and start selling... the cops will be there shutting you down! You also aren't buying in huge bulk like a B&M restaurant so your costs are higher.. You also can't make EVERYTHING From scratch on the truck so factor higher costs for those ingredients...

    I had a go at making something similar, and it actually turned out to be amazing. I ended up getting a curry powder mix and using that as I'm not confident with choosing spices. Originally when I saw this video I was shocked when I saw the man squash the bread flat, but as it turns out, this works a treat, seams to help keep the entire thing moist, the bread absorbs some of that egg. This is the answer to some of my grocery spending problems!!!

    People from other places complaining about hygiene and cleanliness and all the crap this food is not for you. Millions eat it everyday but not for you so take a hike and stick to your plastic wrapped food for the life. These people are not going to listen to you whatever comment you want to make on TH-cam nothing is going to happen else find your own problems and fix it goodbye. Do not try to change others change yourself first if you want to be a part of them else take a hike.

    • @anisurfer84
      @anisurfer84 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well said. They all want to 'fix' India. Sadly, they are only taught bad things about India in their schools and news channels. They are taught to "fix" India and the rest of the world since their childhood as if other countries are some kind of god-given burden upon them. Get a hint foreigners - If you don't like something about us, take a hike.

    I went to McDonald's the other day and got a Filet-O-Fish combo and a Bacon McDouble. I was eating it in my vehicle in the parking lot and listening to an audio book when I glanced up and saw the McDonald's worker I ordered from was outside having a cigarette.
    She waved at me and I nodded and had to wait 7 minutes before she went back inside so I could eat in comfort again. I don't think that employees should be bothering or even trying to socialize with customers outside of the McDonald's restaurant or drive through, but that is another story.
    I went to McDonald's for dinner last night and got a Big Mac combo and a 10 piece Chicken McNuggets with barbecue dipping sauce. As I was driving to the second window the same girl was still working. She was acting somewhat obsequious and attempting small talk when she asked, 'why don't you come eat inside instead of in the parking lot'.
    That really bothered me for many reasons. First of all, I don't want my routine or actions to be tracked by a fast food employee. Secondly, she should not try to tell me how I should live my life. I do not want to eat inside because I find it less comfortable and would much rather be inside my vehicle listening to an audiobook and enjoying myself and my privacy.
    Overall, I think it was very unprofessional to bring this up. I should have a clean slate with each drive through visit, not have to get the third degree because I committed some sort of faux pas, which I don't think I did because I often see people eating in fast food parking lots. How does she know I am not busy going to work or somewhere in a rush?
    How do you feel about eating in your vehicle in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant versus eating inside the restaurant?

    • @AirsoftVidoes
      @AirsoftVidoes 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Holy shit do you have social issues. I actually am employed at MacDonald's and surprisingly we're people just like you. You must live a miserable life if a McDonald's employee waving at you is enough to rant about. A clean slate with every visit? how self conscious are you.

      ***** Absolutely disgusting. I will never be with a female who defecates.
      The whole reason my last girlfriend and I split was because I found out she did, in fact, poop. For months I had suspected something suspicious. Every time we had ethnic cuisine, she would act very odd, especially afterwards. I would try to cuddle with her and fondle her, only to have my advances rejected and her leaving the room. It all came to a head one day when I came home early from work. As usual I wanted to take my shower, but there on the couch, was my girlfriend pleading with me to wait a bit before I cleansed myself. Well, fuck that. I wasn't going to wait another second to purify myself under my brand new showerhead. It then got even more strange. The closer I got to the bathroom the more nervous she became. At one point she even stood directly in front of the door, blocking me. When I finally was able to enter the room, I was horrified at my discovery. It smelled like shit, and not my shit either. No, this was a different, unknown aroma. So here I am, nose deep in an awful smell, my girlfriend next to me crying. I get PISSED. I ask her where the guy is, who he is and how long this has been going on. All she does is look back at me with tear-filled eyes and confusion as she asks what I'm talking about. I then notice the toilet is clogged and at this point I'm screaming at her about whose feces lay in my toilet bowl. Finally, after what seemed like aeons, she broke down, looked me straight in my eyes and said "babe, it's mine. I told you spicy food doesn't agree with me. " Well, that's all I could handle. I was really hoping she would pull the shower curtain back to reveal a naked man, but instead all I got was an admission that my once beautiful and dainty girlfriend had desecrated my porcelain throne with her dirty whore feces. Needless to say, I packed my belongings up instantly and never looked back. Be careful who you trust.

      The story didn't come from a forum or anything. It's totally original. Also, I figured I should tell you, it's mostly true. By that I mean I actually had what I believe to be a malevolent gay spirit follow me around constantly fucking my ass, and I encountered all the crazy symptoms like, being always horny, unusual sweating, dry mouth, and pain in my pee hole.. I was never able to trace the N64 back to any owner, living or dead but I was able to trace the happenings back to the N64 and i did pawn it off to some crack-head karate ninja here in Virginia.

      Yellow is tumeric. And your opinions are worthless, the traffic noise was the only thing I enjoyed about this video. Put it into context. Pile of shit in a dirty, busy, nasty city, in a dirty, nasty country filled with disease and poverty.

    • @TorrAlstad
      @TorrAlstad 11 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It is best when the tumeric and egg and bread and oil all become one. It is delicious for the mouth, but it also excites the eyes and nose. Combined with the glorious traffic, your senses are full - eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and the touch of your fingers as you pull it apart. Very important for the recipe.

    Its a culture thing People in the East all have street vendors and food done on the streets, unlike the West where street can only be found in NY, and everything else at a MCdonalds ( its not very healthy either) so people living at these places get used to it. But the taste is awesome! I can never eat this stuff as my immune system has adapted to the West as I live in the US, but its still pretty awesome!

    The best thing that most people would have missed that the chef didnt beat the eggs as is the norm for making omellete. i think this method is a novel one and very good as something similar to sunny side up poached eggs with lot of spices and a bread literally smashed in the omellete. ..a nice twist indeed...must be tasty...and yes hygiene should have been better but sadly tht comes lesser as a priority when u have to manage a decent margin on this short temporary evening to mid night business with additional bribes for a local policeman , municipal guy or may be to the owner of the place..

    • @juliannevillecorrea
      @juliannevillecorrea  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sanjeev Upadhyay it was very tasty hope it was less earlier but I enjoyed it and however you cook eggs as long as they are hygienic and healthy then it should not be a problem about the Ambience and the aesthetics

    Hey Carrie! Try: starting with chopped green chilli's to your tolerance (go on stick a bit of garlic in there too!) Dry spices are most probably: red chilli, cumin, turmeric, and maybe asafoetida, salt/pepper... ;-) oh, by the way, you have to use Indian butter (ghee) clarified butter, and start cooking when blistering hot
