  • The Lumintop EDC05 flashlight stood out to me because it offered 800 lumens but it was very compact at the same time. So after testing it, I can say that yet is works well and as long as you've got a 14500 or a AA battery, you are good to go. I like this one - check it out and tel me what you think!

    I saw a review on a flashlight forum that said not to use the turbo mode, using 14500 batteries, under no circumstances, is this true?

  • @SovereignKnight74
    @SovereignKnight74 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can unlock light level programming mode. Hold power button down for 5-7 seconds and the light will flash twice. This unlocks programming mode. To actually program it, you'll want to double tap to get into strobe mode. From there, press again to get to SOS, then press again for beacon, then the next mode is constant turbo, you'll not want to run this for a long time as it wont step down. Press again and it goes into battery check mode, 4 flashes = 100%, 3 = 75% 2 = 50% 1=25%. Press again to go to the brightness level programming mode. It will cycle through low mode and give three low settings, let it cycle to the mode you want and press the button again to save and it cycles to three levels of medium mode, then you let it cycle and pick the brightness mode you want, then press again to save and move to high, same deal, pick your mode level brightness, then last is turbo, same deal again. Once you have the modes you want, you'll then double click again to go back to normal modes of Low/med/High. After that turn the light off then hold the button again for 5-7 seconds and it will flash once to let you know it is out of programming mode. Once you do this you'll get your strobe and SOS/beacon modes back on double press.
    I made a video that explains it better.

    Having trouble with mine, itll go through all outputs but once it's on high,even for a few secs. The light want come back on directly, I have to wait a min. Or unscrew to get working again, has this happen to you ? Thinking I got a bad one.

    Hey man great review!! I just got this light and was wondering if you can recommend which 14500 battery brand you use with this and also a charger that you use with it.id like to order extra batteries with this charged up ready to go. I just don't want the batteries exploding in my face and also want the best batteries I can get for this light

    • @EverydayTacticalVids
      @EverydayTacticalVids  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    so i through all my Lumintop flash lights out the window with the battery inside
    to see if they wood work from 3rd floor - They all stopped working lmfao...
    the funny thing is Lumintop lost a loyal customer for ever...
    told them to keep batteries i never received along with the money...
    Rule of thumb - when ever a company trys to milk you or trys to
    hide there mistakes over a few AA batteries - PUCK THEM Puck them all Period !!!

    Very detailed review, Tim. I wanted to ask you if it’s Okay that I use 2000 mah rechargeable batteries in this? It’s the same size as a AA battery. I am having a hard time finding a good 14500 rechargeable batteries where I live.

    • @EverydayTacticalVids
      @EverydayTacticalVids  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would suspect that would work just fine I believe the output of the battery is the thing that would cause issues, so I'd have to do some research, but I'd guess it would be fine.

    • @Netsolace-tech
      @Netsolace-tech 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      EverydayTacticalVids I would really appreciate if can research it. I asked one of my friends but I don’t think he paid enough attention to my issue. I can send you a picture of the 2000 mAh batteries that I am talking about maybe that would be some help to you?

    • @bob847vid
      @bob847vid 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2000 mah is a measure of capacity. Similar to an Eneloop AA Rechargeable nimh battery which would work. Not at 800 lumens like a 14500 but you would probably get the same brightness as a standard AA battery with longer runtimes. Eneloop are the best AA rechargeable batteries I have seen.

    • @kalmdwn7711
      @kalmdwn7711 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's interesting that it can use either 1.5V AA batteries, or 3.7V 14500 rechargeable batteries.

    Why not start with the thing on a ruler so you can see how big it is... switches on a side surface is the first sign of poor design as they turn on in a pocket, pouch, bag...
