I use Ableton every single day for more than 4 years now, however I paused the video on the second tip to say thank you for these tricks I`ve never seen elsewhere on youtube. Keep it up!
This vid is fire as hell! Quality tips for everyone who’s using Live! I love the one about the hidden tracks, makes it so much easier to decide what to flatten and what to keep. Thanks so much and keep it up!
Thanks, refreshing and dynamic tutorial. Your description of template leads I to dig more in this. fav tips i never use is this hidden track folder work around, genius, i plan to add another folder for elements that can be reused in another project, a dope drum roll, or a particular scale etc. Great that Live give the possibility to réorganise things according to our mindset.
This vid is so solid!! I’m coming from Logic, where you can store an entire channel-strip (vst, settings) and I really missed that thing in Live, but know I learned about User Library 🎉
I absolutely love these tips, instant sub! You really got me with the last tip, I always select all the tracks I want to copy, thank god there is an easier solution 😂
USEFUL TIPS About the point 3 (that is anyway super useful and I'm going to do it), instead of write parameters on paper 😄 you can select all the chain and than copy and paste it to another project, and all the values stay the same. You can copy and paste everything from one Live project to another. Abount the point 4, when you pass your mouse on a send you see in the bottom left corner of Live what that send are linked to. Hope this tips could be helpful for someone 🙂 and really thank you for some of your tips cause they are going to be a real game changers to me 🙏🏾♥
Great tips! I knew almost all of these, but they were ones that definitely sped up my workflow when I learned about them. I didn't know about the little CPU meter thing, but just recently upgraded to 11 (literally days before the announcement for 12, lol), that will be super helpful
Haha, I'm very happy to see that others do the same: Writing parameters down. Will try this method the next time I work with Ableton. Thank you for this little helpers.
i m gonna give a like before i even watch it. i love this producer's tricks a lot. i m gonna watch it later on. thanks in advance.he does a good job with insane tricks always and as a follower i should be clicking on the like as soon as possible for the algorhyrm 🤣
For Tip number 4 I have a great way around it, Hit A and enter automation mode and click on the send slots and you can see what each send is!!!! Sick hack I always use
Tips4. As a Mixing Engineer, I Know Ableton Audio Effect Rack volume knob is "post fader", it is after the Effect/Plugin processing Chain, So we can put a utility before our Effect/Plugin as send Amount Controller.
I have a trash folder exactly like this. and i organized my favorites at the top exactly like this. : " interesting stuff " i have it labeled as new plugins :) lool funny . i got exactly the same workflow. I also created folders under places called " Celebrity instruments. " I re create the instruments of the famous producers or good producers with their processings on and save these name by name. infact i ll create a folder for you too. haha i remember seeing some real cool sounding stuff on this channel. thanks for the video. i knew all of these ableton tricks. will be wattching for more.
Regarding number 4#. You can actually see what return channel it is by hovering over them. The name of the return channel the parameter belongs to will show at the bottom left corner.
Hmm. Seems like the whole aux/send concept in Ableton is kind of messed up. They should fix that. I guess they want you to just use the dry/wet knob on an insert? Is that why this is like this? Cool daw. I always wanted to get into Ableton just because of the vast amount of educational material. Maybe I'll take the plunge during the holiday sales I don't know. Thanks for the tips.
Tell me I'm not the only one who used to write parameters on paper 🤦♂
Close ... I'd take pictures and make folders on my phone 😂
@@kond1e lol better have big storage
Back in the day for sure, lol

You can also drag a template onto an existing project in the new track area and it will annex the template into the project you’re working on.
Yes!! That’s great as well
This vid is so solid!! I’m coming from Logic, where you can store an entire channel-strip (vst, settings) and I really missed that thing in Live, but know I learned about User Library 🎉

If you purchased Ableton 11 after October 15, 2023 they'll let you upgrade to 12 for free. All other Ableton owners can get 12 at a discounted price.
Haha, I'm very happy to see that others do the same: Writing parameters down. Will try this method the next time I work with Ableton. Thank you for this little helpers.
Of course, my pleasure thanks to you for watching!!

For Tip number 4 I have a great way around it, Hit A and enter automation mode and click on the send slots and you can see what each send is!!!! Sick hack I always use
Definitely helps thank you! Still would love an easier way to visualize this, they have to improve that!!
Tips4.
As a Mixing Engineer, I Know Ableton Audio Effect Rack volume knob is "post fader", it is after the Effect/Plugin processing Chain,
So we can put a utility before our Effect/Plugin as send Amount Controller.
yes I sometimes do that!!

Amazing haha, interesting to see how each one has its one workflow! Thanks for watching and supporting!
Regarding number 4#. You can actually see what return channel it is by hovering over them. The name of the return channel the parameter belongs to will show at the bottom left corner.
Good catch, still hate it though haha
@@badhabit Yeah, same here. They definitely need to do something about it. 😅
God daaamn!
😎
the other great tip is CTRL+ALT+ L.I.M.B.O
@Ableton Are you listening? @7:00
I'm afraid they're not 😅
Q: When you save Default Template it creates a new file. Can you overwrite an excisting one? 👌
Yes, you can by naming the new one the same as the one you want to overwrite! It will ask if you want to overwrite and you just say yes!
Hmm. Seems like the whole aux/send concept in Ableton is kind of messed up. They should fix that. I guess they want you to just use the dry/wet knob on an insert? Is that why this is like this? I think they just have different ways of doing things in general, which I love except for this specific feature. Glad you enjoyed the video 😁
don’t have to watch the video faster beat = higher bmp
170 bpm or nothing
HOULI FAKIN CHINGA LOUNLI KOULI MOULI PAX
