@@Jenniji I mean zoos aren't just displays for people, they also help increase population of critical species like the Mysore zoo does with leopards and tigers for example and usually release them near Bandipur forest reserve (which is one more place you must visit and try the safari). Besides Mysore zoo has a good reputation of taking good care of the animals they enclose. I know cuz I've volunteered here for a few years. The animals here are fed well, are in good shape, sleep well and probably more peaceful here then in the wild but yeah natural is natural. Just wanted to say zoos aren't all wrong
Please also visit Chamarajanagar near mysuru, you can visit Bandipur national Park , gopalswamy hills , and B R hills . And madeshwara hills , you can also see tigers if you are lucky in Madeshwara hill
The road to Chamundi hill is so very well planned back in those days itself that, it has very few curves as the road runs along the hill(a kind of round about) making it not steep for the heavy vehicles and you also see some arch shaped spaces left to the left side (while climbing) for vehicle movements if at all some traffic jams happen there. I have seen traffic jams happening in Chamundi hills at times, but, thanks to this arch shaped spaces, jams were broken in no time. The same kind of jams have happened in Ooty hill as well, It took hours to clear the traffic. Coz, no spaces left there. I have climbed so many hills, nowhere i have seen such a thing till now. The journey in this road doesn't strain the traveller unlike in other hills (For example, Male mahadeshwara hill in Chamarajanagar).
