@@connorburbine9459 The state quarters are cool. They're about the same shape, size and colour as our 10p's, and therefore many have ended up being circulated in our country as people use them as 10p's without realising (Sherlock's point about people not being observant is true). My brother-in-law has collected all but 2 or 3 of the state quarters (I've only got 3 myself though), without ever setting foot in the US or carrying out a cash transaction in US dollars, which gives you an idea how often a quarter escapes the US and starts circulating here instead.

This is such a good video. The only neat coin fact i have to share is that American 1 cent coins (pennies) were actually made out of copper until 1982 when it became more cost effective to use zinc. You can tell pretty easily side by side comparison (and obviously the printed date) but the real test is the sound it makes when you flick it into the air. The copper ones make a chime while the zinc ones are practically silent. Thanks again for the video!

My favorite coin would probably have to be the US Susan B. Anthony Dollar coin because it commemorates the Apollo moon landings on the back with an Eagle Placing an laurel branch on the moon. The coolest coin I found was a German 1905 1 Pfenning. I found it in the penny slot of my cash register at an Ice Cream stand I worked at when I was younger. It made my day

They're amazing, just tiny pieces of art countries have designed that best represent themselves! :) Did you notice all the stamps in this video? There were some Sherlock ones, UK Olympic stamps, San Marino, New Zealand, Hong Kong and India on the envelopes!

It's kind of ironic that Holmes has become such a beloved character, given that one of his key traits is that only one person in the entire world likes him (and even he doesn't really understand why). :)
My favorite coin, rather prosaically, is the U.S. 1¢ from 1909-1958, popularly known as the "wheat penny" because the reverse has a pair of wheat ears as a decorative fringe around the "ONE CENT" marking. Although the wheat design was replaced in 1959, pennies in those days were made of real bronze* (as opposed to the modern version, which is mostly zinc with a thin copper plating), so they're durable enough that you can still verrrry occasionally find a wheat penny in the wild today.
    * except during World War II, when they were steel--as you might imagine, not a lot of those left today

This video was really interesting! I am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes and actually started reading the Hound Of The Baskervilles on what would have been Conan Doyle's 160th birthday purely by chance and I'm hoping to get to visit 221b Baker Street at some time this month. I don't have a Sherlock Holmes 50p, but really want one as I also collect coins. Unfortunately my collection is quite small, and consists mainly of mangled pennies from various places, but I also have a Peter Rabbit 50p, a London Underground £2, a couple of different coins from Jersey and even a hapenny

I have two £2 coins I love; a Charles Darwin one where he is shown face to face with an ape, and the Magna Carta 800th anniversary one, with a little raised recreation of the tapestry.
