TRANVÍA DE SÓLLER: UN PASEO ÚNICO

Algunas ciudades del mundo, como Lisboa, San Francisco o Melbourne, son famosas por sus tranvías históricos todavía en circulación. El de Sóller tiene una peculiaridad que lo hace especial frente a otros tranvías urbanos: la de unir montaña y mar en un trayecto de media hora, desde el valle en el corazón de la Serra con el puerto y la playa.
Inaugurado en 1913, el tranvía de Sóller no es solo un atractivo turístico, sino también un medio de transporte colectivo utilizado desde hace más de un siglo por los habitantes de la pequeña ciudad para desplazarse a su puerto y playas y viceversa.
El tranvía, además de transportar pasajeros, se ha utilizado también para transportar las cajas de pescado de los muelles al mercado o las de naranjas hasta los barcos que navegaban antaño hasta los puertos franceses, para subir las hortalizas de la huerta al pueblo e incluso para llevar carbón y materiales de guerra hasta la base naval de la Armada ubicada en el Puerto de Sóller

Some cities in the world, such as Lisbon, San Francisco or Melbourne, are famous for their historic trams still in circulation. The Sóller tram has a peculiarity that makes it special compared to other urban trams: it links mountain and sea in half an hour's journey, from the valley in the heart of the Serra de Sóller to the port and the beach.
Inaugurated in 1913, the Sóller tramway is not only a tourist attraction, but also a means of public transport used for more than a century by the inhabitants of the small town to travel to its port and beaches and vice versa.
In addition to transporting passengers, the tram has also been used to transport boxes of fish from the docks to the market or boxes of oranges to the ships that once sailed to the French ports, to carry vegetables from the market garden to the town and even to carry coal and war materials to the Navy's naval base located in the Port of Sóller.

Neben der Personenbeförderung wurden mit der Straßenbahn auch Fischkisten vom Hafen zum Markt oder Orangenkisten zu den Schiffen transportiert, die einst zu den französischen Häfen fuhren, Gemüse von der Gärtnerei in die Stadt gebracht und sogar Kohle und Kriegsmaterial zum Marinestützpunkt im Hafen von Sóller befördert.

Le tramway de Sóller a une particularité qui le distingue des autres tramways urbains : il relie la montagne et la mer en une demi-heure, de la vallée au cœur de la Serra de Sóller jusqu'au port et à la plage.
Inauguré en 1913, le tramway de Sóller n'est pas seulement une attraction touristique, mais aussi un moyen de transport public utilisé depuis plus d'un siècle par les habitants de la petite ville pour se rendre à son port et à ses plages, et vice versa.
Outre le transport de passagers, le tramway a également été utilisé pour transporter des caisses de poisson des quais au marché ou des caisses d'oranges aux bateaux qui naviguaient autrefois vers les ports français, pour transporter des légumes du jardin maraîcher à la ville et même pour transporter du charbon et du matériel de guerre à la base navale de la marine située dans le port de Sóller.
