Wow Rich, that's truly terrible. I admire how confident and self-assured you became, despite going through that as a kid...and even now, when people are calling YOU an abuser. You still stand strong.
Was rewatching All-Stars and it struck me how there were multiple cast members who saw through, and called out Sue's charade, even at the time of the incident and subsequent to her meltdown.
Yes. That struck me too. But Probst and CBS only cared about editing a “cliffhanger” rather than how such an irresponsible presentation of events might impact people’s lives.
@@RichHatch I imagine the dubious nature of her actions was even more transparent in reality if it shone through as much as it did in an edit which was specifically designed to skew the narrative in her favor. Anyway, just to fan out for a second.. fellow Rhode Islander here, really wasn't expecting you to see my comment on a 2 year old video, but you just made my day. We love you Rich 👍
Never forget that those of us who relate will always be willing to listen, and always remember that those of us who listen will always be able to relate; not because we share the same beliefs, values, or experiences, but because humanity is common ground within itself. Basic human decency doesn't discriminate against differences and attempting to understand is a choice. That's the tragic irony of it all: the ones who don't try to understand never will. You exhibited this for millions to see. Know that I think we have similar minds, and that I know it's not necessary to. Take solace in those of us you've inspired to be better people, if you can. Rudy was one of them and it's a testament to how incredible both of you are that it happened. Nobody needs to change themselves in order to get along. You don't need to agree on something to see it from another person's perspective. You just need to try. Thank you Rich.
Watched the episode again. Doesn't seem like the production was trying to manipulate what happened. You clearly did nothing inappropriate. Sue was laughing during the whole incident. It occurred to her later that she could take advantage of the incident and Sue you (no pun intended). She was so delusional that she thought she deserved that money in season 1.
You should be the host of your own show that is basically Survivor 2.0 but the way you want to run it. See if it actually competes with Survivor and/or gets them to change how their show is run.
Really powerful video Richard. I'm sorry to hear about your traumatic past. You're an icon so much more beyond survivor and loving hearing your side of events, keep up the great work.
Thank you very much, Richard, for straightening out what happened from your perspective. I also recently rewatched that season, but as an assault survivor, I believed she felt the way she did. However, when Shii-Ann defended your character soon afterwards, it had me wondering if my perceptions were accurate. When you said in the other video that you wouldn't sexually harass a woman because you are gay, that made a lot of sense to me. I think you're an honourable person with the same amount of flaws and imperfections as the rest of us. You should be on Season 40. Thanks for the channel. I see the show from a more balanced perspective now.
I have a question, what happened to Colleen from your season? I loved that girl, seen her in the animal movie with rob Schneider.. but haven’t seen her since
I didn't at the time and still don't believe Sue was violated in any way. It does raise the question did Sue bring back experiences from her childhood or perhaps suppressed memories of it when she reacted? Did Sue see a way of winning survivor by walking off the set? I'd bet a dime to a donut she received a non disclosed settlement from CBS to drop it; maybe seven figures though that is high but their pockets are deep. Sadly many people judge others and situations based on their perspective of life due to their personal experiences as well as many other factors. In a show where women have stripped for food what dis Sue expect in that particular challenge. Her motives are in question as to why she didn't just jump off the plank after she'd finished the challenge. Why did she turn back? I know there are factors that may explain it but few hold water with me?????
I just feel the need to say that I am so sorry that what happened to you-the incident when you were a child-....well, happened to you. That is a complete nightmare.
Been watching all of your videos and this is the one that made me subscribe, finally deciding to make you part of my youtube diet. Sure, you're arrogant but you still have such a powerful way of communicating such a unique perspective that I think all Survivor fans will richly enjoy. It's just good insightful content.
Hey rich. Its clear to see you are one bad ass sob. So refreshing to hear someone speak on the abuse of power in our society in a manor that is ment to provoke thought and without attacking anyone. Hmmmm, so rich is bringing to light important topics, to allow people to change there perspective and draw conclusions but not attacking anyone and thus provoking retaliation from what could be considered the opizition. And im just getting high at 1am when i should be asleep thinking man no wonder this dude won survivor
ritch you are in my opnion the best and im glad ur esposing them for there lies people are just stupid now days this world is just full of lies aand saying the truth ur the best to ever play survivor
TH-cam is heavily censored however. If it’s not candy coated they will NOT recommend such videos. Sure the videos will get views, but they will never reach levels of mainstream sadly. However with that said, thank you for sharing videos with us! As a Survivor fan it’s always interesting to hear stories and more from the show. I’m interested in your thoughts on Survivor locations. Do you think they ever leave Fiji? What new location would you like to see Survivor go to?
What I don't understand is why producers chose to not just show the scene that proves you didn't touch Sue at all. Was there a cameraman in the scene or something to make them not want to use it? After viewing the footage and seeing for themselves that you did not even touch her/realizing she must have had ulterior motives.... why the hell did they still not choose to out her? Us viewers would have had more entertainment value being able to see the truth and then watch Sue be so adamant with her "I was violated" lies.
Too many people cry wolf and that makes it hard on everyone who is being real. A person who has been a victim of sexual abuse doesn't always walk around their whole lives with their butt on their shoulders. You're the perfect example of that. Nobody would know if you had not said it. People who lie about being assaulted and abused are despicable. I hate that you won't be on the show as you are one of my all time favorites. What they did is bullshit. Hang in there buddy. Like we say in the south, God don't like ugly. This will backfire.
As entertaining as Hatch is on Survivor, he must be going through the Dunning-Kruger effect. How dumb can you be to go nude, and approach another person knowing full well that it is being recorded. You didn’t rub against Sue, cool that’s fine. But why would you make such a foolish decision? You’re so naive it’s almost cringeworthy. TV isn’t a real where you get to act out of turn for nudity. Keep your sexual expressions and filthy ideas to yourself.
How could you possibly think you know a damn thing just from watching selective edits from a giant production company? You're an emotional wrecking ball that can't think critically, and sadly, you fit perfectly into the gross broken world we live in. Congratulations for achieving soullessness.
Jesus Christ rich that was heavy
I'm really sorry for what happened to you Rich. You deserve to speak out about this and i'm glad you do.

Oh my god Rich. I'm really sorry.

Wow. Thoughtful and kind. Thank you.
Love you Hatch! I disgusts me that you've been treated this way.

I felt since Season 1 that Susan H always had a personal agenda.
Great player and even better person.

Sequester is doing just that
@@AlexH274 umm no, sorry. that looks nothing like how Hatch would run a show.

when zeke got outed was he asked first if it was ok , obviously they didnt have to show that part if he wasnt happy with it

Seeing your new TH-cam videos makes me feel just pure nostalgia!
Please keep the videos coming! ❤️

The TH-cam community can have its toxic people and you will be told to shut up you just don’t have to listen to them

They should have just canceled that damn season
Season 39 was soooo bad. The women should have been reprimanded at tribal for lying. I'm sure we will hear from Dan 10 years from now.
You have too much screen time. Get over yourself. You’re the original sicko and Dans incident just made people search for you again.
