I’m watching this video via Starlink mounted on top of my van, powered by 12v. I ran into this problem many times trying to get my system working. I eventually found that my cut and spliced original cable just didn’t seem to work so I ran with just a standard OTC cat six cable that was significantly shorter than the original. I also found that my original fully adjustable Voltage converter apparently was not working correctly and so I switched over to a simpler converter sealed buck converter and now everything is working just great. I wish I had seen your video earlier as it may have saved me some time troubleshooting but I did at one point do all the steps that you have provided. Great video.
Just some info that might help others. After trying to get my SL to go online and dealing with the same message over and over again (not connected to the internet, cannot find router), I finally got some help from a SL "technical specialist"who contacted me thru the SL app messages. He said they were aware of a software glitch (his words, not mine) but suggested a "work around". What he had me do was to log out of the SL app and then delete the app completely. He said to redownload the app and open it but DO NOT LOG IN. I merely had to accesse the router. It went thru a quick software update and then suddenly I was ONLINE! Once it did this I was able to log in as normal, configured the router and it's been kicking ass ever sense. Hope this helps someone.
my gen 3 wont work just has a solid white light at all times nothing happens when i push reset button just light stays white no wifi signal it was working yesterday?
Sadly, I also get this issue, I ve made a ticket for about 4 days and nobody answered, this is a shame for a premium company, I want my money back. The kit is 3 months old only…
So short and sweet video. Starlink has taken the liberty to send me a new cable but I am skeptical as I was using the system in the middle of Tropical Storm Debbie when the image froze and the rest is your video.
🙄I encountered the same problem, namely the display on my starlink application screen, Unplugged or rebooting. After contacting the Starlink support center. I was advised to replace the device. from gen 2 to gen 3.. what I want to ask, do I have to pay again or not.?? please answer, I'm confused.
You do have to pay for that too it’s bull shit. That’s what they are gonna tell me to and I’ve had this issue since I bought the damn thing two years ago.
How can you tell if you’re connected to gen 3. We upgraded from gen 2 and we didn’t go through the section where the router went back to StarLINK TO put in a new name for the router. Thanks for any help!
I contacted Starlink support regarding the Offline issue. Here is the reply. "Thanks for contacting Starlink Support! I'm happy to help with this. Taking a look at your network, I can see the disconnects you're talking about, and they appear to be happening most nights. These are lining up with the software updates your router is downloading. As the router is processing and installing the update, it will go offline until finished, which can take around 15 minutes. I do apologize for the trouble with this, but I hope knowing what's causing this can help. Please let me know if I can clarify further or assist with anything else!"
Thanks for posting that response. I have had a Gen 2 router and dish for 18 months and starting last Fall started getting the same "unplugged or rebooting" offline issues once every week or so, and always first apparent to us early in the morning when we get up. And email trouble reports sent by some of the hosts of our 24/7 internet devices (wifi thermostats, security cameras) always reported the loss of internet around 4 or 5 in the morning. Like you, I found that a cold reboot---remove power completely for a minute or two, then reply and let it boot up from scratch--always (at least so far) works. We have never had the modem do that during the day and we access the internet frequently all day long on most days. I've never tried to track down the dates of modem software updates but from postings on other channels I get a sense there are a lot of them, and they usually happen overnight in the wee hours. My cabling is fine, I've checked it out, so I was beginning to assume it was the modem trying to do a warm reboot after a software update and failing to come back on line. As you said in your other post, it appears unplugging and replugging the modem is still a useful action!
@@dryheat6907 If the time frame of the outage is consistent, more than likely Starlink is updating software or whatever they're doing. I told the service rep a heads-up would be nice, instead of a message indicating "Not Connected To The Internet". The whole rebooting thing and regaining service is more than likely a coincidence, the rep indicated typical updates are up to 15 minutes of down time, so next time I'll just leave it alone. And if you unplug the router, it just stops the update, provided that is the reason for loss of connection. Ain't this modern tech amazing :O)
@@hnd2893 Yep, same go-to first corrective action we used to take a decade or more ago with older tech modems. Good point about letting it sit, I didn't add in my comment that I always let it sit for 30 minutes after I become aware it is offline to be sure it isn't coming back on its own. Then I do the cold boot. And we have several systems that always let us know a new software version has been installed, it would be nice if Starlink did too.
I just got a new Gen 3 standard dish and it has that error msg every time but it fixes itself without me doing anything. I thought that is what it should be?
You shouldn’t be having the error. If it’s happening intermittently, it could be a hardware issue. I recommend reaching out to Starlink to see if they can spot the issue from their end. It would be better to take care of it now before something completely fails and doesn’t fix itself.
I contacted Starlink about my Offline issues, turns out mine are due to software updates being installed a certain times. I recommended that they issue a notice before doing so. Here is their replay. So I just got mine a couple days ago and I did rebooting and factory reset and it's still saying the same thing and I have no internet and I have a clear sky view and switches the plugs to different outlets
We have the Gen 3 system worked great for about 5 months then about weeks ago it just stopped working. Have replaced the entire setup still wont connect. Support is no help a lot of money for nothing
Ugh!!! I do not want to hear that!!!mine has been going on and off occasionally since we got it 8 months ago and today it was offline and nothing I have done has gotten it back online and there are no humans to assist at tech support. 😡😡😡😡
Hello Friend! It happened to us as well to us and if a lot of burdensomeness is not, I want to know which is the solution and what you did to repair it.
My Gen 3 drops out a few times a month, maybe a couple of times a week, usually when I'm in the middle of returning emails or doing online banking between the hours of 4 to 5 a.m. Unplug, wait a minute, plug it back in, reboots within 5 minutes most days. Funny, all the modern tech and unplugging is still a thing. 🤪 The real pisser is the cost of the kit dropped in some areas of the U.S. shortly after I bought it 3 months ago.
Hey mate can you please get back to me as I am having issues that I can’t find a solution to - I have tried support and they really don’t want to help - they keep closing tickets on me without resolving issues

Reboot router you can reboot in the app. And check your cable for damage.

Router doesn’t even show or connect to wifi when it’s on
I would try a factory reset. If that doesn't make the Starlink Wifi network appear, it could be a bad router. Contact Starlink for a replacement.

There is a piece of plastic on the connector that goes into the router. I didn't see that initially. Remove it!!!!
