I went to my first Fort Bill World Cup last year and I was hooked. This year’s was as awesome as I’d expected it to be and it has to remain on the calendar.
I hope you made the same video for each race location, I live in Fort William and have no interest in mountain biking, but I see and hear the reaction of friends and fans who always say it's the best location and atmosphere on the calendar.
I wonder if Fort William is a bit like the Monaco Grand Prix; it's been on the calendar for years, but is more about the spectacle and promotion of F1 and is iconic for that reason.
All sports need their iconic staple venues, F1 has silverstone and monza, MTB needs Fort William. If the UCI think the tracks a bit tired, get Dan Atherton to spruce it up. If they take away Fort Bill, we need to ensure we still have a WC round in the UK, how about Dan again, knocking up something in Wales, he's bloody good at that....

Ft. William I have to say is crucial to the sport. As was said many UK folks are exposed to the sport at this event. (I'm American) I think it has historical value especially to those who have been a part of the sport for a while. And last and maybe least I would assume it would be a financial mistake.
It can't leave Fort William its a awesome weekend, I've been twice now and i intend on going every year till i can't go anymore as such a great place, all the people just gather together for such a great event and have a good time would be a sad day if it didn't come back.
Went to Fort William for the first time last year. It's such an awesome event!! From the crowds, the riders and teams, the course itself, to seeing children as young as 8 tear around smaller parts of the trail! So much happens over the weekend, there's so many memories to get. The after party is unreal! Never want this place to disappear. 😭
Once you go you’ll be hooked, this was my hat-trick year, the first year we went for two days, second year three days this year we stayed for four days.... I might as well move up there come the tenth year !! Get to Fort Bill is my advice to anyone who’s thinking about going one day 👍🏼

Robbie Surfer it's to do with the forestry commission and stuff I would imagine they are really tight on that kind of stuff. They seem to hate making mountain biking and motor sports easy for people to get into/ do seriously in the UK. Unless your loaded.
Im 68 and have been at the last 4 Fortwilliam races. Tomorrow I will be there again with my son and 10 year old granddaughter Emily . It would be a Tragedy Disgrace Disaster if this event was the last.
It would be very sad if this was the last world cup at Fort bill. If anything could we could have more events on here with regards MTB. I.E.world Cross country. I love the place, it is something to look forward to.

Ive been to the world cup weekend 3 times now (2013, 2016 and 2018) and each time it has been better than before. Each time I get there itd been a case of 'Kid in a candy shop' Fort William cant go, Ever!
I reckon this has got to b pretty likely soon. Especially with all the US riders coming through at the top level again, WC needs a US stop. Not at the expense of Fort Bill though! If there is one race to win (outside of Champs) it's Fort Bill.

Personally I think Fort William is a "Classic" similar to the FIS World Cup Downhill's in Kitzbühel and Wengen, where they have been racing for over 50 YEARS. After the introduction of a 'slalom' course in Croatia, and now this rumour, I wonder WTF the UCI is smoking. I LOVE this track, and it would be a shame to loose it. . . As to it being "bike parky" I'm not sure what that even means...doesn't anybody remember last years race. This is the venue where one of the best females in history crashed!!! Hardly a "Bike Park"!!!! What the UCI SHOULD concentrate on is bringing us fans a MAY RACE! $$$$$$ is what it is ALL about...maybe the UCI isn't making enough at this venue. Just a crazy thought. I have seen this kind of 'stuff' in another sport...FIS World Cup ski racing. The only thing that truly matters in International Competition is TV and MONEY...all the rest be damned. You need to have legends to create a legacy and history. People, places, and races. They need to expand the season and venues not contract them. Or else it becomes disposable entertainment and if there is a lul in interest one year Down hill racing could disappear. It's not in the Olympics, There are no national teems it's still in a building process and cant afford to ignore and forget about the beginnings of the sport or any of the great races, legendary places or people who have made it the most spectacular sporting event of all time!

Why don’t they build a new track, they need some more trails there as the ones that are there now are a bit 💩. Bpw are building trials like mad. Fort William has the World Cup and the trails are rubbish in comparison and the fact that they have the only gondola for mountain biking makes it worse.
Would be an absolute travesty to the sport. Fort Bill is the best one I have ever watched at and had a chance to ride it. Not competitively mind. Keep it going,
