Yes. You do need CPT for work off campus, and it must be a job in your field of training. Truth is, the process is pretty complicated if it's not internship.

I applied to several schools in the USA and this night I got a mail from one of the schools that I have been offered conditional admission. I already email the director that I will be needing an assistantship, she said it is only for the admitted students. But the mail I got this evening didn't indicate that I have been considered for an assistantship so I am confused. My only hope is on graduate assistantship. Please what would you suggest I do? Only if you're applying for an undergrad program. But take note that age is an important factor when it comes to getting a student visa.
