The new MDX didn't exist at the time and Acura says only 2% of Infiniti shoppers cross shop the MDX and JX, so it didn't seem to be a big competitor at the time.
Great review! I’m back-and-forth between the JX 35/QX60 or a Buick enclave 2013-2015. -I don’t tow -I have 3 kids that like road-trips. -fuel econ not a priority. Which would you recommend nowdays that they have been out long term?
Just picked up my JX35 and I love it. And mind does show artists CD cover when their music plays. This a great car....mine is fully loaded and I know I'll enjoy it for years to come. :)
Soft plastic on top of a dashboard Is seriously overrated. I had hard plastic in my Honda which never cracked in 20 years. In my Lexus I had soft plastic which cracked in 7 years. Car lived in a garage. No abuse what so ever. Did I ever touch that dashboard to enjoy its softness? Never. It was looking good (until it cracked) and it was all what mattered. Infiniti di a very smart thing - put soft materials where you touch them and durable where you just look at it.
0-60 what is the obsession with that? How many people do even care to get to the highway in less than 8 seconds? I am constantly stuck behind those who don't mind making it in 30 seconds. Plus with any crossover or SUV you gotta have trucker's mentality anyway: "Don't rush. You have a large vehicle. People who need to go fast WILL go around you." JX is best at Luxury, Safery, Reliability, Technology and Fuel economy-without-irritation games. Also I find 8 sec to 60 is more than adequate.
you asked for feedback on hard plastics from consumers - i don't like them either. in fact, I may wait to purchase once the 2014 Highlander comes out with promised soft interior upgrades and a more quiet ride...
I am a little supprised by the fact that you state the 0-60 times of this Infiniti JX35 is slow slower than the Ford product as well as the Buick. Now I have never read in any automotive publication of the 0-60 time for the Ford or the Buick lower than 7 seconds? The Ford us usually around 7.1-7.6 and the Buick is usually around 7.9-8.2 so I would think that under 6 seconds to 60 MPH is pretty good!? Oh and by the way, you really are the best automotive site on the Internent, just saying!
Tough question. Personally I like the MDX, however if you want the most room, best fuel economy and goodies like real wood trim then the Infiniti is your best bet. I think that I might take the QX60 hybrid over both, but I'll find out for sure in about 3 weeks when I have one for a week.

Materials are soft touch everywhere but the top of the dash where you will rarely touch it still one of the betting looking interiors in it's class
I love this vehicle! You could fold the second an third row down. And get busy lol
Carlos Clayton my man you got the side chick in there😂😂😂🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Carlos Clayton LOLLLLLLLLL🤣❤
🤔🤔🤔
In my opinion soft touch materials is a must! Especially when you are paying top money. Cars today really suck at that.
That is on the short list
He's got that Roy Orbison vibe going.
Great review Alex!
dont even think about it ! the cvt transmition has so many problems 😭
just bought it and loving it

Leelee's Lifestyle Corner do you still have jx35?
actually the ford explorer 0-60 is 6.1 seconds on the twin turbo eco boost 365hp and 365torque but you have to pay more for that option
The CVT is the major drawback for me it drove me away from Nissan now they are using them on infiniti SMH I hope this isn't a lasting trend

I had to sell that car yesterday because it’s transmission wasn’t working and so I traded it for a new one but now I regret doing that 😢

If i'm paying Infiniti money i'd want soft-touch plastic (or at least a decent leatherette wrap) period.
Thanks ....this was very helpful.....
Just for laughs you got a haircut for the test drive hahaha... im loving the new look on the pathfinder
Great video!
Compare it to Acura MDX, Volvo XC90, BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Lincoln MKT
can we have a review for 2013/2014 Mercedes GLK??
sad to see a hyundai azera is the first ever to have all the good stuffs as standard, infiniti made nice gadgets but always option
HI Alex. Which one do you prefer between QX60 and Acura MDX ?

Alex on Autos Which one has a better driving experience?
shahed hasnat
The SH-AWD version of the MDX hands down. FWD versions are quite close to one another but the Acura is still the more dynamic choice.
Why would you not compare it to an Acura MDX?
how do i connect the subwoofer
$55k? I rather get 2 hyundais santa fes or maybe 1 santa fe and 1 sorento
Compare it to the mdx.
He's 6 feet tall
