I've driven to Belize several times from the USA, and heading back down very soon via auto. Yes, you will have to paid for departure from Mexico even if you already paid on your plane ticket. Yes, you will have to get Belizean car insurance. There is no one insurance company or policy that will cover you for all of those countries, Belize, Guatemala. Yes, will have to get your vehicle fumigated in Belize, Guatemala and back into Mexico. Great you all did this video to show people it can be done, but it ain't cheap. And did Mexico make you pay a second terrorist fee in order to get back into the country even though you had already paid one on your airplane ticket arriving into Cancun? gracias for this clarification I may be heading down on a a d o
$700+ for a 4 week rental!... And I'm sorry to say but that Mexican Tourism Tax nothing more then a gringo tax which is the reason they told you to turn your camera off.
I own dual citizenship US and Mexican, and it makes me furious that you have to pay a Mexico tourist exit tax 🙄…trust me I wouldn’t have paid a dime, that’s the reason they don’t want you to record…these immigration (so called) officers need to be more transparent and accountable..less government, more freedom please..🤔
We didn't get that feeling at all during our month in Mexico. Everyone seemed very nice and helpful. We were obviously respectful of their language and culture during our stay. We were seriously trying to learn the language. I wonder if that made a difference.

Belize is pretty safe. No kidnapping and stuff like that. Just don't invite strangers to your place.
