Hey Kevin! Great video as always :) Re: your personality and people feeling obligated to make disclaimers, I think there may be two things at play here: 1. I think you're probably more at ease with confrontation, or at least some amount of friction being present in the interaction, than average. Most people will go to great length to avoid confrontation at all cost (even when confrontation would actually be healthy). 2. I think it goes to cultural background as well. Eg: in general, people from the US tend to be more outspoken about their beliefs and ideas than most other cultures. Europeans, a little less so. Japanese culture is even more private and tends to value conformity more (ie. the saying “The nail that sticks out gets hammered down”). There's actually a very good video about this by the Design Theory channel, _“Eastern & Western Design: How Culture Rewires The Brain”_ But long story short, your communication style will be more in phase with some people than others. And… that's probably okay! Like, one thing you are for sure is different. Both in the fact you provide an insane amount of info and value, and that you're very direct - if we're being 100% honest, sometimes, a little too much for my own european sensibilities. But that's alright! I love watching bc you're tremendously passionate about this craft, AND that's your communication style. I wouldn't expect something else from you (I mean, it's not like someone was forcing me to watch…) For those whom it doesn't suit, well… “You can bring a horse to water…” and all that. They’ll find their own teachers and mentors, that will better fit them. Me, I'm happy right here 😌
love that you figured out the inheritance on the "orphaned" Headings. what a PITA that has been as I tend to drop color of content on the container so I'm not setting Heading, lede, etc etc etc separately!! 💯
I've really benefitted from this video. Seeing the manipulation of some of the frames components gave me some great ideas for my own work. My dream one day is to have KG do a live critique on one of my sites and have it pass the all the "KG Tests". I've really started getting into ACSS and Frames and I look forward to more great content from the team. 😀
Dude, loved your rant at the end and how real you actually always are. I have to watch most of your steams and videos in smaller chunks (don't have 2 hour blocks of time), but what I learn from you sticks with me a lot better than those flashy 15 minute videos that show how everything is always easy and perfect (aka....edit my mistakes out before I post it). I am ACSS and Frames owner and really appreciate you and everything you do. Question: is there any chance that ACSS will ever have the ability to use Dynamic content? Specifically for color palette? In other words, I want the ability to offer site owners to edit their own colors by selecting from ACF color picker, but want to use all the shades and transparencies automatically. I can do this with my own variables, but before I go that route, I'm hoping this is a feature you could see as valuable. Thanks as always!
I flicked into the live strem briefly last evening by mistake. Somebody was getting animated about some Republican/Democrat thing. Spent hours on W3c tying to find out what that does, so had to come back to wath the whole live stream. Like the whole modifier class set up where the modified styling is done on the original via the dynamic root selector. The modifier then is empty just a declaration of the class? Could be a potential candidate for deletion if one is not on the ball looking at it later?

When is there going to be a cross-country, start-to-finish, full-scale, in-person training class? : )
Great video Kevin - had to replay some of it but so worth watching
Enjoyed todays video. Had some divided attention watching it live. Will come back and watch it again. Thanks, kevin!
Awesome, thank you!
Could you possibly create a tutorial to properly add a pattern background to a section?
lol. Bev always wants to know which team member is making the weekly casserole. F'ing Bev! It's a love hate with her 😆

Ask in the community - i think some people have already set this up with ACF.

Hi Kevin, Did you mention somewhere that we don't really need to use Figma any more for UX design, we can just use frames and ACSS?
No I recommend figma for pro workflow
BEV!! Too funny! 🤣❤

Geary.co search
Sadly because people think time is money, which means speed = more profit. Not seeing it long term though sadly.
