    You have to appreciate the factual transparency of where and how these guitars were manufactured.

    I have a Patriot Custom from MK which is unbelievable. Honestly plays and sounds better than any Gibson I've ever played.

    For $699 you get custom shop options on pickup and design , so that's very cool

    The Mod Shop 50 Burl Burst does look really nice and seems to sound like a Tele.

    I just purchased and received the Mod Shop 50 Duncan, and it just irks me to think that the relic'd guitar is waaaaaaaay more expensive than the absolutely beautiful guitars that you make. Sorry, but why in the world would I spend extra money on a piece that appears as if I tied it to my trailer hitch and dragged it between gigs?

    If anyone from Michael Kelly is reading this I was recently looking at one of their guitars second hand online, did a search for the company website and via the website checked for dealers close to me here in UK. When I clicked on the link to a dealer close to me it instead linked to a Chinese online casino site, maybe want to check the links on your website

      Did you buy it? I just got mine and im very disappointed. A Lot of fret buzz straight out of the box. IDK iv just never had such thing happen with any other guitar. Usually within a year but not out of the box. Debating if I should return it or take it to get a "proper" set up.

    I bought a 1954 model for $250 that was a blem- just as a hobby project.. The string retainers were ridiculously out of place - B and E was almost at the tuners. String angle at the nut (which was completely loose) was whackadoodle for all strings. Middle pickup position sounded just like the neck. The neck gets really muddy if you roll off the tone control any. Black back is transparent enough to see that it's a FIVE piece body. Tuners are marginal quality. Nut was way too tall, action was poor. After doing some work on it (nut, neck tilt, truss rod adjustment, repositioning the string retainers, putting Wilde/Bill Lawrence pickups in it, etc...) it smokes. If you want one of these, buy a blem basic model on Ebay and expect to tweak it. The compound radius neck and the fret dressing is good. The thing now chimes like a high end tele and it IS "purty".. Wilde pickups are very reasonable in price and the best pickups out there. Bill has passed but Becky keeps things going and is wonderful to talk with. Give her your business - you wont be sorry. (I'm 60 and have played them all over the years) Granted, it, (and no other tele) will ever compare to my Bob Gordy (RIP) custom tele, but it sounds great now. Rings like a bell.

      That sure is and he is playing that Asian hooker guitar. That guitar love you all night long for $5. Steel Panther went to South Korea now we all have gonorrhea. PRS, Schecter & ESP guitars have better options and quality in the Korean made guitar market. MY OPINION!

    • @projectgoatse
      @projectgoatse 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ryan Penderton All of those brands you mentioned, including the Michael Kelly, are all made in the same Korean factory - WMI.

    • @briangrayson2147
      @briangrayson2147 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Projectgoatse -you better get your facts straight on that one. Options on ESP, Schecter & PRS much better - to three piece necks to construction. We all know of "world music factory in Korea" - did u do your homework or just throwing darts out? Oh boy, not all cars are made at the same factory in the USA or guitars. If a guitar says "crafted in Korea - do not assume it is the "world music factory"

      +Ryan Penderton You're the one who didn't do his research. You don't even have the name of the factory right. Anyway, if you watch any of their factory video tours, you'll see the headstocks and logos of all aforementioned companies sitting on the racks.

    this vintage vibe, 1950's 1960's stuff thats all a buzz right now is getting old, there is absolutely nothing 50's what so ever about any of these guitars, is all marketing, and PR stuff. Granted the guitars do look good, but they aren't 50's

    • @kylekirouac3035
      @kylekirouac3035 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They can't call it a Telecaster because they're not Fender, so they call it a 1950 because that's the year the Telecaster style body first came out, and while the Strat came out a few years after the Telecaster, I'm sure they call it a 1960 because it was arguably one of the most used style of guitars in the 60s. It's not PR/marketing stuff, it's nods to history of these style of guitars, especially when they use coloways or electronics or designs similar to that of the original versions of these guitars. But hey, if you don't like all that stuff, why complain to the world in a TH-cam comment? Just go buy a 2017 Gibson and enjoy the mediocre quality of an overpriced guitar.
