Entering The New Katraj Tunnel | Katraj Ghat

The New Katraj Tunnel is a highway tunnel located on the NH 48, Pune, Maharashtra. This Tunnel was opened on 15 December 2006. It is a three-laned tunnel which stretches up to 1.223 Kms on Katraj Ghat.
[ While the New Katraj Tunnel on Pune- Bangalore Bypass was opened more than a decade ago to facilitate fast and smooth travel, it is instead proving to be a road straight to death for many an unfortunate commuter. The stretch, known popularly as Katraj Bypass, has claimed close to 510 lives in the last 5 years, specifically between October 2012 and January 2018.]
